  1. Howdy, one of my mates was tempting me with replacing my alfa with an MG RV8 and although that would probably be aweseom the 350z has always been on my list and sometime soon I hope to have one
  2. Isn't the zed setup for use with the bridgestones and using other tyres can cause problems? (evo buyers guide info) As a comparison this is what my GTA cost over 2 years running http://www.pistonheads.com/members/show ... arId=75033 look at this http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyres_For/Nissan/350z.htm where are the bridgestones? wayyyy down the list for a reason That's good I really rate the PS2s I have them on my e92 Coupe, done 40K on the fronts (about to change) and 30K on the rears
  3. Me too, I was recently hit by a muppet who changed lanes on me entering a traffic light controlled roundabout, he is now coming back saying I changed lanes on him I suppose the fact that he was navigating by a tom tom held in his passengers hand could have had something to do with the accident. OP, hope you get it sorted, I know how gutting it is.

  5. Hi, Interesting site here with some stats on the 350z http://www.rri.se/popup/performancegrap ... artsID=637 Not sure if it's been posted before, did a search for rototest and not much came up but hey ho. Good for comparison against other cars. Not sure of its real world value though. Sean
  6. Got 3 delivered at work on day of release, what a faff it was getting them setup and then trying not to hold them with the left hand in such a way that the reception dies completely. Ah well the two guys who I gave them to are happy though, the other guy said he was far too busy and would stick with his BlackBerry so I have one unopened in my drawer.
  7. Thanks for all the replies folks. I do tend to go through gearboxes (3 in my last 2 cars) I don't 'bang' but I do have a sharp shift, good to know that 1st to second needs to be nursed a little through the gate to increase the longevity of the box. Has anybody on here had their car on a vbox or similar timing system after a remap to see what the real world gains are? Not just in launch but also midrange? Cheers Sean
  8. Hi, Read somewhere that the 350z is restricted in the first 3 gears, does a remap lift this restriction? what are the reasons behind the restriction is it fundamentally for better dynamics or a throwback from the JDM market or can the components not take the power and torque at higher rpms resulting in gearbox failure? If the latter what upgrades are available to rectify any inherent weaknesses? When I get mine I was hoping to get it tuned to get the 0-60 somewhere closer to 5 seconds as the GTAs stock have been consistantly run at around 5.5 on a Racelogic V-Box. Any advice welcomed Cheers Sean
  9. Hi, I'm wondering if the built in sat nav on HR cars is any good, when I test drove one two years ago it looked like an etchasketch have they upgraded the software at all? Does the display show any other data? Cheers Sean
  10. All of it with the torsen diff and eibach coilovers I installed...
  11. Thanks for the extra info, I'd read (I think on wikipedia) that the 300 engine (is it 300bhp???) was first introduced with the GT4 car and then mainstreamed in mid to late 2005 good to know that info is wrong then. If i do get an earlier car I'll probably be swapping the bonnet for a 07 one for no other reason than I think it looks better I am looking for a decent upgrade in power though, my Alfa is putting out 262bhp at the mo so I'm not sure the earlier cars would provide any real gain for me which is why I'm looking at newer ones. Mind you is the chasis on the later ones tuned in anyway to compensate for the bigger power of did they just stick the new engine in the same car? Cheers Sean
  12. Ah, i'll need to update that don't live there any more, your domicile aint bad either, spent most of my childhood wandering the lakeland fells with my parents, lots of horrible memories of being dragged up mountains, odd that I don;t seem to mind now
  13. I came on here with the intention of seeking out and introducing myself to the ownership of a 350z viewtopic.php?f=9&t=9660 Things didn't go entirely to plan though and instead I ended up swapping my 1.6 Alfa 147 for one with a bigger engine in the guise of a 147 GTA. Well two years down the road and with 10K gone in upgrades, fixing it when it breaks down and fuel (15mpg average damn it cos of living in the pennines) I'm on the hunt for a new car again and I'm thinking it's time to scratch that 350z itch. Probably looking at a 2005 300 bhp GT spec car or if I can swing it a 2007 GT spec in blue grey or black and getting along to some meets. Unfortunately my Alfa was recently hit by a muppet on a roundabout who changed lanes into the side of me so still waiting for insurance companies to battle out who is going to pay for the damage fixing as the other insurer says I was at fault even though he was looking at the sat nav held in the hand of his passenger when he hit me Looking forward to the experience. Sean
  14. People like that are better off in front, they can be a liability behind you
  15. It does feel good, as long as you can do it safely, although some places there aint no safe way, you just have to try and get on and off again as quick as possible. Ainley Top Roundabout off the M62 for one.
  16. Things went bad for a while and it looked like I might not have been in a position to get one. It all kinda hinges on my girlf getting a new job, she had the job, had accepted it and then it got pulled in the 11th hour. Last week she got a call from the company saying they are hoping to get the headcount signed off this week so the offer will be back on the table and so will my Z. Looking at budgeting around £20K already seen a few nice UK examples, there's an 06 Gunmetal 300 GT with Sat Nav with Rays on Ebay within that budget as we speak, I'm itching to go have a look and come back with a huge grin on my face and some new keys in my pocket but until everything is signed and sealed I'm having to live with the continuous torture that is the internet and online car sites She says I have to wait until my house has sold as well but hopefully I'll be able to swing it sooner, it's coming up to a good time to buy, I hope lots of people are saving up for Christmas and not buying Zeds so I can get my dream car for a killer price. I CANT LIVE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. :steepledhandssmiley: Excellent Sarnie
  18. Mate those wheels REALLY suit the car, which are they? Danny, sorry to hear about your car, little basts just have no respect
  19. I'm getting mine in a couple of months too, had a blast of a test drive last weekend and still can't get the smile off my face, walking round work looking like this.
  20. She has 3 points, but seriously would having her on have a positive affect on the premium?
