like it's been said it could be overheating but it could also be that windows ME as killed itself by that i mean there's a software fault not a hardware one. when you try to reset in safe mode is there a option for last none configuration ? have you installed any new software recently ? got anti-virus and firewall running ? think it's about time you upgraded to a newer pc running windows xp which is more secure and less prone to crashing, also windows 98 and me are no longer supported by micro$oft. you should be able to transfer all the pictures and anything else you need off the old hard drive to the new pc easily not sure about the passwords tho

oh yes, a few years back i could have got about 20 consoles for £20 each all with a couple of games and all boxed do you remember the CD add-on that looked like a toilet seat

still got a shadow of the beast (amiga) t-shirt somewhere does that count

neo geo - with the huge cartridges costing about £150+ but THEY were the arcade boards after all b4 they launched the cd verison 3do - made by several companies such as panasonic, didn't really take off but claimed to have the best version of need for speed and road rash ever ah yes the good'ole speccy a huge 48k and a dead flesh keyboard think i'll get me nerd coat now................

good man only consoles i've got left is a original ps (still boxed,no games), dreamcast and a few games (still boxed), gameboy advance with one of the mario games (forgot which and both boxed) and me xbox again still got the box have owned nearly all the consoles launched in uk the at one time or another, first one was the sega master system, showing me age now

yeah the good old classic days, now relived via emulators of one sort or another
