  1. I am new to this so any helpful suggestions gratefully received! Just bought an Ings +1 front under spoiler from MartinMac, looks pretty straightforward to fit but I'm a bit confused about a grey 'sealing' strip that runs between the spoiler and the original bumper. The diagram below shows how it should be fitted but that will mean the grey will show up. Do I then need to touch that in black? Would it be a problem without bothering with it? Anyone translate Japanese??!!
  2. Well the rain kept away! Good to meet the small, but select, crew at Thurrock The £450 I spent on a K1 was completely and utterly justified driving through the M25 tunnel - the bloke behind must have been wondering why I was going so slow but I needed the space in front to put my foot down - was awesome!! Very sad really getting excited about a noise - but I'm male and it's just natural! Collected my Ings front from Martin - straight to the bodyshop tomorrow I think. Need to collect some commision from ESR if Roast goes for the exhaust. Couple of photos below - hopefully will encourage some more for the August meet! Note the RAC van below, years of mechanical training for the operative enabled him to make the repair with Gaffer tape!! We reckoned the engine mountings had gone but that was no match for a roll of black tape!!
  3. Daron - with most ladies it will eventually lead to shopping - so why not treat her to Bluewater!!
  4. Well - thereby hangs a tale! Steve had to pull out of the detail today - leaving me with a dirty car that I now must at least attempt to clean up a bit myself before Sunday evening!
  5. Yep I will be there with friend in a Focus, I don't think he will fit in on the way back with the special one!
  6. you told me it was a fine piece of ings bodywork!

    Update

I am supposed to be checking school reports but it's really boring so I thought I would update anyone interested on my Z. I finally managed to replace the wheel lost by ParcelForce (don't ask!) through Adam. The new wheel I got from him was almost as much as what I had paid for the 4 second hand but unmarked GTVs from a member in Japan. Never mind, lesson learnt is not to touch ParcelForce again. If anyone in Coventry sees a car with one 19" GTV let me know! I then had the problem with the Traction Control cutting in on long corners. This was eventually solved by replacing the tyres with Falkens 275-35 on rear and 245-35 on front as opposed to the 255-35 and 245-40s originally fitted on the new wheels. Was all to do with rolling radius and the percentage difference between the front and back compared to the original tyres. Since replacing them at no cost to me not a whisper from the TCR. Next step was to purchase and fit a JWT popcharger and K1 exhaust from Big Phil. Great service and fast delivery! Garage charged me £80 for fitting the K1 with Y pipe which I didnt think bad. Sound is awesome and just right. I tried it with the bungs out but was too much bass throbbing through the seat!! May try again when it all gets coated up internally but great with bungs in. The K1 must weigh at least half of the original system so that must have an impact on performance! Check the huge space where the old box was. Now trying to work out what (if any) body kit would look good, oh well back to the reports! I've added pictures below. Any suggestions for improvements gratefully received! But no church jokes - not that I am religious - it was the only place I could find to take pics!

No idea why pics keep disappearing, they are public in photobox so I copied address from properties and pasted that in message between img tags. I can see them in the message preview, might be something to do with he address I paste is only available to me when I am logged in to photobox? I have added them as attachments this time!!
  11. I blagged a good seat for the Leeds v Doncaster game! As a Palace fan who was 6 inches (penalty hit the post!) away from the playoff final I thought I would show any Leeds fans the medals they missed!!

Influenced by this thread bought and installed this! Great speedy service from ESR (Thanks Phil). No problems fitting it, just needed a really short stubby Phillips but got away with a flexible screwdriver to attach heat shield to duct. Definitely more aggressive sound, stock system too tame for me. Lining up an ESR 'K1' exhaust now - but really need to hear it in the flesh! Any South Londoners got one fitted?? Pics to follow when I can remember how to link to photobox!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. First time my car has been 'spotted' I think, even though a friend was driving it! Was it S1 PJM with chrome wheels and Z badge instead of Nissan? About what time Thursday?

    Door Handles

Looking to change the colour of the door handles to match the car - black. What's the best option - just ask a bodyshop to paint them? Shouldn't be too expensive/technical?

    Intimidator

Nope - just looked in my copy and no Intimidator there. I did find a a nice inflatable friend for company on my next trip!

  18. Well having said that there have been no problems I have just returned from a 20 mile trip with the TC cutting in loads again. Seems to be after coming out of a corner at no great speed and putting power on, again no way excessively. Light was flashing for about 10 seconds with reduced drive as I was going in a straight line at about 30mph. I did mean front pair and rear pair being the same. I dont understand why being different could cause Tc problems - dragsters don't seem to have a problem with traction and their front and rear pair couldn't be much more different?!!
  19. Well maybe the 'scrubbing in' theory is correct as traction control hasn't cut in at all for the last two days. Interesting reading about the tyre sizes - my understanding is that the front and rear wheels operate entirely separately so as long as they are paired correctly it shouldn't matter? Or is that too simplistic?
  20. I gave him the wheel dimensions - he put the info into his wholesalers website and that is what came up. Any tyre websites I can use to prove that they are wrong? Might be hard to prove they are the cause of the problem?
  21. Friend who owns tyre shop I use - from your !!!! that's shite advice????
