  1. As long as you have the small green receipt part V5C/2 you can get the private plate transferred immediately at any local DVLA office. This also ensures that the V5 will be transferred into your name as they put a stop on the old one and order a new one for you there and then. Obviosuly the car will have to be taxed before you can do this. They give you a new tax disc there and then, new MoT if needed, and a certificate to get your plates made up and you're off! Piece of cake
  2. I'm coming up the M40 from Oxford as well Chaps, I think I know the pub, its on the left as you are approaching Silverstone? Seem to remember a whole load of people stopped there on the way back from the drifiting a couple of years ago, also there is a speed camera there so it must be the one. That sounds like a good place to meet to me. How far from the circuit is it, I cant remember. Guess we can try and time it to get there about the same time as the others coming the other way Don't know the pub myself, but if you have any directions etc I can probably find it (name or postcode?) What sort of time?
  3. Tried getting eight boxes of computer paper in the back of 350, but it just wouldn't work............. Maybe I should get a roof rack
  4. I'm coming up the M40 from Oxford as well, so can also meet at Cherwell Valley services or pub car park on A43. PM if you want my mobile number (planning on getting there 8.30ish)
  5. Sunset coupe coming out of Tritton Road Car Park by Staples, 2.30 pm today. Private palte M** *** I was in Corsa so didn't wave
  6. Most likely, though how many games did they win 1-0 in the championship this year, it was loads It seems that recently that one club that comes up surprises everyone and does well (Wigan, West Ham & Reading recently) so i wouldn't be surprised if one of the 3 does ok next season - most likely Sunderland i reckon as they will spend more money Seems to me that you need such a different kind of team to get promotion as opposed to one that can stay up it's always going to be difficult. When we got promoted under Megson we had a great side to get promotion (ie 1-0 wins and very hard to score against as with Derby), but had no flair or skill to stay there. West Brom have probably currently got a team that could stay up, but we haven't got the kind of players to grind out promotion in the first place. Reading managed to get up playing decent football and scoring goals, and they have survived. By the same logic, Brum, Sunderland and Derby will all struggle next year (unless they spend big).
  7. Cheers for the kind words; at least we had a decent day out (apart from the weather, the result, the beer at 3.50 a pint, the overcrowded trains......
  8. Nixy, a mate of mine has his Evo insured through a guy called Christian and it might be the same bloke; he knows his cars and I've had a quote from him for my 350. He seems a genuine guy and isn't worried about mods such as SS exhausts, coilovers etc so no premium increase if you add a few bits. Not the cheapest (DirectLine was in my case) but my mate says he's spot on when it comes to helping you out (as long as it's the same company which I can't guarantee and my mate seems to be out at the moment so I can't check and maybe I should just shut up......... )
  9. The DVLA have to see your Insurance to issue your Tax Disc, which means you have to get your Insurance first. I'm not an expert on this side of things and I could be wrong, but I haven't heard of an Insurance co. issuing cover notes on the VIN. I think you may well have to have it on standard plates and then transfer your private plate to the car later. This makes sense because if you ever sell the car and retain your plate the car has to have a number to revert back to... Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Dan's right; you're much better off getting it registered by the dealer with a normal plate and then transferring your private plate onto it afterwards. That way you'll definitely get your plate back should you want to sell. It's only the number of owners that a future buyer is interested in, not the number of times the plate has been changed. Once you have insurance and tax etc on the normal plate you can make one visit to a local DVLA office with your retention certificate and they sort it all out for you there and then.
  10. Thanks! Be good to lock horns with the Villains again (although we don't seem to have had any success against you for what seems ages). Bet you're looking forward to the Blues again?
  11. Have yout tried the ticket touts online such as ticketmaster.co.uk etc? Yeah, they haven't come up on there yet. Probably a few later in the week for stupid money. Managed to get two tickets, so off to Wembley now! Come on you Baggies!

  13. I know this is a long-shot, but I'm after two seats for the Championship Play-Off final at Wembley. If anyone has any corporate contacts who want to dispose of two tickets (preferably in the West Brom end) I will pay cash. Trying to get them through the club, but our allocation is poor and I had to cancel my season ticket this year so no guarantee Can't believe that many people actually want to go and watch the Albion
  14. Mine was the same; it was the rear anti-roll bar drop link bushes (they dry out). Peel back the rubber boot a little and use spray grease on the joint. Cured mine. Hope that helps. Hmm, that sounds interesting - any pics? (Mine creaks like an old Spanish Galleon at the rear - usually when reversing over uneven ground. e.g. Up the kerb and onto the driveway.) None from the car, but this is from the Manual. Circled/arrowed bit is the drop link. Try and move the link where it bolts to the anti-roll bar and if it's dry and creaking you'll hear it groaning. Mine made an almighty racket; just a bit of grease around the joint, a few miles to bed it all in and noise has now gone.

  18. Glad you like. System is currently Kenwood DDX6029 head unit with KNA-G520 SatNav, KCA-BT100 bluetooth, KCA-iP500 iPod connection, KTC-9090DAB digital radio, rear camera and SWI-JACK steering wheel adaptor. Front speakers are Rainbow components through a 2-channel amp with Alpine two-ways in the back for in-fill. Acres of Dynamat Extreme and diffusion pads. Sounds superb
  19. Some small images of my car and stereo. Amp etc are all hidden and difficult to photo.
