  1. Great to meet everyone, I have put the pictures I took on my rubbish mobile here: http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r49/Cadaith/Cowfold/ See you again soon and thanks everyone for coming along
  2. Is the meet still on, as this thread has gone quite for while? Went past the cafe today - full of bikers around midday, but would be good to see a lots of ZEDS, and I am sure a few Smarts could sqeeze in too. I shall be there
  3. May not help, but my car does not have the fitted SatNav so I got myself a Tom Tom. This allows me to use my phone handsfree via bluetooth and solves two problems at the same time (SatNav and phone all in one). You can also read/write text messages on the Tom Tom screen, not that I suggest you do it whilst driving. Just an alternative solution for people to consider.
  4. Here is the address: CHALET CAFE HENFIELD ROAD COWFOLD HORSHAM RH13 8DU Multimap location: http://www.multimap.com/maps/#t=l&map=5 ... RH13%208DU
  5. Looks like other people have similar problems to you, sad to say: http://www.350zmotoring.com/forums/arch ... -6269.html
  6. Next meet at Cowfold is 9.30 on Sun 9th Sept if anyone wants to come along.
  7. Well the Smarts are all meeting at 10am tomorrow (Sun 12th Aug) and I will be there in my Z with my fiance in her Smart For-Two. So anyone that fancied popping along is more than welcome!! I will be there for about an hour only, grabbing a great breakfast and then heading off just before 11am. I have a lunch to go to which I cannot get out of. Best go clean my Z........
  8. Hmm...the person who I noticed it with is a work colleague who car shares with me. And he might object slightly to being called fat as he is a body builder hehe!!
  9. Anyone else have this problem? It only seems to happen when I have heavier people sitting in it....
  10. Anyone else have this problem? It only seems to happen when I have heavier people sitting in it....
  11. None taken, I just thought it would be great to get a few zeds along before I find myself converted to The Way of the Smart and go and buy one of the little toys myself. ...*bites down on cyanide tablet in rear molar .........tell...*gasp*.....my....family.....I.....lov......uuurrgghhh!!
  12. Just been to my fiancee's monthly Smart car meeting and had a great time. I think we ought to turn up too, anyone interested? The meetings are held roughly once per month on a Sunday at 10.00-10.30 start. We meet up, have a cooked breakfast (or whatever) and have a chat and admire each others cars, so its not too heavy for a Sunday morning. The next meeting is likely to be Sun 12th August here: CHALET CAFE HENFIELD ROAD COWFOLD HORSHAM RH13 8DU Here is a picture from her mobile phone: Its a regular meeting place for bikers too, there were around 20 when we were there. Post here if you are interested
  13. Forgive a naïve question if you will, but I only need to replace my fronts. Is this a good idea or is it better to do the whole set at the same time with the same type/manufacturer of pads?
  14. Just to add my recent main dealer experience to the fun, they wanted to charge me £198 for replacing the front pads. In their own words they "only" had 20% life left...... So I told them to poke it.
  15. Selling my girlfriends Alfa, currently on Ebay and Pistonheads so let me know if you are interested in coming for a look etc http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... &rd=1&rd=1 Text from Ebay: Selling my beautiful 05 plate Alfa, which I have owned since new (1 lady owner), because I am getting married and the money is going into the fund!! A really nice car to look at and drive, the specification summary is: Air Conditioning Heated Mirrors Electric Windows PAS Driver + Passenger Airbags ABS VDC Traction Control Radio+CD Player I have had 60mpg out of it, driving sensibly and typically average 48-50mpg. 22,000 miles approx Has had the pre-delivery service, the 12,000 mile one and the 24,000 mile one was done on 04/06/07 MOT not due until July 2008 1yr manufacturer warranty remaining I am a non-smoker with no kids or pets so the interior is immaculate. Driver and passenger doors have a small dent from other people opening their doors and hitting them. These are easily repaired and I have been quoted less than £100 for this work. I mention them because they are small and do not show up in the photographs. There is also a set of alloys with tyres that come with the car but not fitted. They were a present that I have not got round to using on the car. Feel free to contact her via Ebay or private message me for any more details and to arrange viewings.
  16. From the news this morning: "Chancellor Gordon Brown had the environment very much in mind in his Budget speech when he confirmed that road tax for the most polluting cars will increase to £400 next year. But he deferred this year's annual fuel duty increase by six months to October. He also rejected Tory calls to put VAT on airline tickets, which would have meant a 17.5% rise in prices. He told MPs: "I have investigated the detail of this proposal. "It gives me no pleasure to tell the House that the substance of this measure has not been properly thought through. "It would apply only to domestic flights, business would be able to claim back VAT, and even by 2020 it would save just 50,000 tonnes of carbon - less savings in one year than achieved by the climate change levy in just one week. "So I have rejected this proposal in favour of the six million tonnes of carbon saving achieved by the fairer and more environmentally efficient measures I have outlined in the Budget today." For drinkers, he announced that from midnight on Sunday, beer will rise by 1p a pint, cider by 1p a litre, wine by 5p a bottle and sparkling wine by 7p. But, for the tenth Budget in a row, he froze duty on spirits. For smokers, he said: "While I will go ahead from 6pm tonight with the annual inflation rise on a packet of 20 cigarettes, of 11p, I want us to do more to support the health advice campaign, initiated by the Health Secretary, with a new incentive to encourage people wishing to give up smoking. "For one year from July 1st for nicotine replacement and other products that help smokers to quit, I am cutting VAT to the lowest I can, from 17.5 per cent to 5 per cent." I have some problems with this: 1. I car share to work, therefore I am "going green" and doing my bit. Yet I get whacked with a big tax increase just because I own a car like a Z. Where is my incentive for car sharing from this government? 2. My car may well emit a certain level of CO2 but I only do around 7,500 km per year because of the car sharing. Others out there do 30,000km a year and therefore pollute more than I do, so how is this fair? Examples 350z Band G 273 g/km over 7,500km = 2,047,500 grams of CO2 Mondeo 1.8 Band E 182 g/km over 30,000km = 5,460,000 grams of CO2 3. The UK accounts for a whopping 2% of the GLOBAL pollution, so all these "green" taxes are just excuses for more revenue. Prove to me that my extra green taxes go towards green projects and I will believe you have good intentions. Bloody Labour government! (my personal opinion, not necessarily one of this site or anyone involved with it)
  17. I would love to come along, especially if we can meet up at a nice pub for Sunday lunch or something...slurp!
  18. So not very smooth then? I have seen babies wotsits and they are all soggy where they have just sucked on them and made them mushy. http://walkers.corpex.com/cr15p5/produc ... ktypeid=40
  19. Just insured mine through the RAC via moneysupermarket.com <--worth a look. I am 35, 11 years no-claims, no convictions blah blah, came out at £430 for me and my girlfriend joint, fully comp with legal cover and protected no claims.
  20. Picked up my Z yesterday and had a great drive back home (about 110 miles). Now I just need to put some petrol in it and go out again asap
  21. All the best ones come with Alezan leather seats
  22. Unlike mine, who was pressing me to buy one and wants to use it when I am car-sharing and not driving to work......
