Friend of mine's dad saved money when he was young to buy his first car. He went to the bmw dealership and the guys said "but what are you doing here, you can never afford a car like this". So he never set foot in one again.
2 months ago he got a new car, Audi A5 3.0TDI full-option. Guess when you can buy that you still haven't got the money to buy a bimmer
Must say that I never had that experience with Audi or Nissan (well had other experiences with some Nissan dealers here, but that's a different story ). I was 22 when I bought my TT, it was summer and I went to the dealers wearing shorts, skateboarding-shoes and some heavy metal t-shirt. So either they didn't care or they where thinking "hmm, looks like a nerd, prolly works in ICT, so he ll have the cash"

Personally I would say - go for a 3-6 months old ex demo -
Yeah
maximum trashing in a minimal amount of miles

Only if I can come wash my car at your place

I have 2 cats.
They never leave the apartment and do their stuff in the litter box.

I neglected my previous car, as in, washed it 2 times a year, by running it through a car wash.
When selling it the new buyer had the car detailed by that friend of mine ( http://www.wax-it.be/gallery/albums/Wax ... .sized.jpg ) and my god, what a difference (and it also showed the damage to the lacquer on the bonnet which couldnt be fixed unless he would spend an entire day only on that part of the car ). So I decided that this time I would do things right from the beginning, and now it is just annoying me when my car is not clean (like right now .... ).

oh
and clay can do wonders on your alloys to get rid of those hard-to-remove black spots.
Because the lacquer on wheels is stronger its much harder to damage the paintwork.
-
And never clay without waxing afterwards
And use the right finishing products after the wax, for that extra shine
@H5: i mean the stuff you find at your regular car-accessories-store like Turtle-Wax and the likes

lost the keys to the house
Well, if you really want to know, you curious git
I have to pass through the garden (private garden) with the hose to get to the parking lot behind our ground-floor apartment. Now my GF always lets her dog in that garden to do "his stuff". In the summer its not really an issue because she cleans it up every week before mowing the lawn, but now in the winter there is dog poo every square inch or so.... no way I can pass there, its a bloody minefield
and no, i am NOT going to clean that up myself.

If you want good wax products, get Swissvax or Blackfire stuff. It is more expensive, but it lasts longer and is better than your average Autoglym wax. A good waxing takes a lot of preparation time for the bodywork, and unless you plan to do this very often, get expensive stuff and do it thoroughly, but less frequent. My car gets a very light polish and then a wax every 3 months, and there still is wax on my car after that 3 month period because its good stuff.
Also once you have waxed the car, STAY AWAY from car washes and the likes, even the ones where you just hose down the car with some kind of soap (without brushes), because the soap is too aggressive and will remove the wax layer!
I'm not inventing this, a friend of mine has a detailing business and does cars all the time so I guess he knows what he is talking about

Nice shine.
My car looks horrible atm, i m ashamed . Can't wash it at home due to some technical issues, gotta get to my parents place asap and do it there.

I ordered my TT without having a testdrive. Just sat in it once in the showroom for 1 minute.
Same story for the Z basically

less tyre wear
As weird as it might sound, I read that there is actually more wear because there is more slip while driving in the wet. Dunno how far that is true dough, never tested it myself

and they do nothing for me, i like hearing a deep refined roar.
So I guess you are no fan of the Porsche sound either

I got 7% discount.
Parking sensors and Nismo exhaust are accessories, not factory options, so you can install them later if you want to.

Right then, i am just thinking of getting my finances sorted out for an eventual Zed purchase.
Obviously the options list is a litany of expense, but i quite fancy spec'ing the Nismo bodykit just save faffing about with bodyshops etc after delivery.
Haven't read the entire thread, but here is my 2 cents.
Get the GT pack. The extra you pay now will make your car 100 times easier to sell in a couple of years (and you will want to sell it one day, even if now it would look as if you would be happy with it forever. )
The money you would spend on the Nismo kit is better spent on a Nismo exhaust and the satnav system. The satnav is really good, nice integration in the dash, no ugly pda-gps stuck on the window of your otherwise cool looking sportscar, and the Nismo catback for that extra , and both will help sell the car later on (esp. the satnav). I hesitated to get it because of the pricetag, but I haven't regretted it one minute!
Also do yourself a favor and get the rear parking sensors. Looking through the back window is like looking through a letterbox and parking will be 100 times easier with it.

I agree
