Thanks for the info Paul.
From what I've gathered so far on a web page it seems that those registered from March 23, 2006 went into the higher bracket.
Pedantic I know but I intend to keep the car for many years ... 10 years [for example] means that at the £555 rate and plus the inevitable increases, that'll be £6k plus going to the rob dog tax man as opposed to, say £4k.
We all have principles of one form or another !
Like many of the taxes, 'road tax' has long since been 're-directed' or at least certainly not been spent on the roads around me !!!!
Yes I totally agree. All my 350z’s have been pre 2006 for this reason. Wouldn’t mind if the roads were well kept but up my way they are a total mess.

In basic form
2002 - 2006 engine were a DE engine with lower tax bracket (276bhp)
2005-2006 a rev up version of the DE engine was introduced making a little more power (297bhp) some were in the low tax bracket and some were in the high tax bracket just depending on when they were first registered
2006 onwards HR engine was introduced. (313bhp) I think I’m right in saying all of the HR models were in the high tax bracket.
As i mentioned in 2006 when the new road tax was introduced the cross over ment some lower power cars were put in the high tax bracket so you need to check any car your buying to make sure you know which bracket it’s in if it’s around the 2006 era

There isn’t many white ones around. The early white ones ( lower road tax ) were imports as far as I remember. Nothing wrong with imports though. Generally less rust on them.
There was some white HR models I think but don’t see them for sale very often.

Nissan 350z V6 3.5L
I bought this car off a friend after he heard a knock from the engine and didn’t have the funds to fix it. The car has been very well kept and due to me owning 350z’s for 10 years plus I bought it to get it back on the road.
I finally managed to source a low mileage engine with only 46000 miles on it and swapped it over with every nut and bolt accounted for. This is all documented and photographed.
The Brembo calipers had just been refurbished and painted purple, braided lines fitted with new discs and pads fitted.
The engine has full new 5w-30 Petronas oil, new oil filter, new clutch fluid (Motul)
New coolant
New AAM air filter.
Moted 2 weeks ago. Passed first time with an advisory for the two compression arms as they had play in them. I ordered two new ones and fitted them straight away.
Clocks have 70k on them- some of that will be in kilometres. 2002 jap import so basically rust free compared to the 5+ uk cars that I’ve broke for parts
This car also benefits from being in the lowest 350z road tax bracket.
The car was remapped 2 weeks ago by Chris at Dynatune in East Kilbride. It made 264rwhp on a hub dyno which equates to 303bhp
This has been a very well looked after car. Interior is mint and seats look nearly new.
I know the previous 3 owners of this car and they all took care of it.
The car has been tastefully modified to get the best power from the V6 engine.
The bumpers and wheels have been freshly painted although the rest of the car has minimal wear like small stone chips.
Silver KYO paint with painted black roof (the roof has a colourful sparkle in the sunlight which is very nice )
Aem high flow panel filter (Brand new)
High flow cats
Full vat back Cobra stainless exhaust
Plenum spacer
Exedy clutch and Fidanza lightweight flywheel
Brembos calipers freshly refurbed and painted purple.
New slotted discs and pads. Had two months use.
Remapped at Dynatune
Tein lowering springs
Nismo v1 Rear boot spoiler
Nismo V2 front bumper (freshly painted)
Rear bumper (Freshly painted)
18” oem rays alloys freshly painted silver
20mm wheels spacers all round
Tinted rear windows
Brand new front compressions arms
Underside of car is very clean.
Pioneer double din stereo. Plays DVDs
Due to me being part of the 350z uk owners club for over 10 years I have a lot of background with these cars and many other owners that will vouch for me and my cars. Due to the age of the 350z’s the older ones are now very rough so don’t let the sub £4000 ones fool you into thinking your getting a good car.
£5500 Ono
thanks

and p15ul t, it is ALL about the time....
Yeah I’ve tried a few moulds but they just don’t come out perfect. The vacuum bagging worked a little better. Just need to set aside a few days to do it properly

Looking good. I’ve got the skinning stuff to do the exact same parts. Just no time at the moment :/

I like that idea what would you make it from ?

I’m pretty sure the outer lenses are the same on both headlight models. It’s getting hard to find pre facelift headlights that are in mint condition though.
I might have a face lift lense for sale. I’ll need to check the condition of it though.
Pm me if your interested
