Whether BMW Technicans can spot an old remap on an engine is still a debatable subject with no clear answers. Some say it throws up a checksum error which it stores in the ECU. This can then be seen at a service if they look into the ECU. Others say it wont throw an error/or the error can be erased/or not picked up by BMW?? Maybe not worth the risk of invalidating your warranty. ps you got enough power Kev anyway!!

    wheel offset

Mathys those wheels are crazy as I have said before! One of the best wheel designs for a Z IMO.
  6. Sell the zed put the extra dosh in and buy Impreza STi etc, a lot easier !
  7. Hi Make sure you try to get the intergrated fog light (UK type one) No need to derestric unless tracking it or your motorway bandit! 9 ot of 10 zed owners wish they has a Sunset zed. (JD power survey 2007 conducted by me)
  8. I go to my local tyre fitter, always charges approx £10 per wheel to fit no matter what! (& £7 for puncture repair)
  9. I dont think this forum suffers from being Cliquey or them & us type attitude. It is almost always a very friendly, informative & ligt hearted place to be on the net. Yes sometimes things get a little argumentitve & heated but I think we'r all mature enough to realise that on "The" Grand stage of Life, arguing over the merits of a mettalic wheel is insignificant. But its not like this on all forums/msg boards/sites across the www, I have seen different from back in the days when I used to mod a VW Bettle Cal look style to German die hard BMW forums IMO this is due to the number of members a forum has & whether there are membership catergories. If there are are hundreds of thousands of members then obviously the cliquiness will not be harder to create. Also if you create different membership statuses, i.e you have a paid up group & a non paying group this inevitabley leads to natural divide & hence them & us. Though not neccesarily intentional on eithers part, its just how things will eventually fall. IMO it would be better to have either a free for all forum or an only fully paid membership forum to reduce forming groups within a group. Finally the one good thing we all have in common on all such forums is that we'r all passionate about cars!
  10. No probs Val, I was just getting my internet anorak on, digging out facts as I know you like to do also!! We'r not getting personal I hope just geting into a good old argument!!
  11. Also lifted from: http://www.europeancarweb.com/projectcars/0306ec_mini_cooper_s_stoptech_brakes/ TSW's racing heritage dates back to the '60s, and today TSW wheels can be seen on such Porsche Cup cars as the TSW-sponsored GT2 run by the Freisinger Motorsports team. & Lifted from: http://www.tiny.cc/BVvc3 Born on the Track TSW has a rich racing heritage that goes all the way back to the 1960's. TSW is involved in Motor Racing throughout the world at many different levels. TSW alloy wheels are the product of choice for many professional race car drivers, as well as hundreds of club racers all over the world. TSW, Michel Ligonnet, and Freisinger Motorsports have had an impressive racing relationship. Ligonnet has brought the TSW GT2 Porsche to the podium 11 times in the past 2 years. Many of which were at highly respectable tracks and races... Le Mans, Nurburgring, Daytona, and Sebring. The 1998 season brought four 1st place finishes and a 3rd place overall finish in the PORSCHE Drivers Cup. The previous 1997 season was an impressive one as well, with four podium finishes and a 1st place finish at Watkins Glen. Series winning team of Last Minute Racing chose TSW alloy wheels exclusively to equip their BMW's for their 1995, 1996 and 1997 season. In 1997 Last Minute Racing won 30% of the races, led 50% of the races, achieved 4 track records and set 4 pole positions with the help of TSW Alloy Wheels. 12. Below lifted from http://www.tsw.com/about.php About TSW Alloy Wheels TSW wheels are born of a rich racing heritage. Founded by a former Formula One racing driver, TSW has been involved in motor racing around the globe for over thirty years. Our involvement has ranged from the grueling 24-hour Le Mans to Touring Cars to Spec Miata. Many of the wheels are based on racing technology. TSW pioneered the race-inspired hex nut look that was featured in such standards as the Revo and Hockenheim R, which have been a popular choice for both grass-roots racing and show cars. In keeping with this rich racing heritage, many TSW wheels are named after past and present Formula One tracks. Today, TSW has an absolutely staggering array of staggered wheel applications. Several sizes carry as many as three different widths for the perfect fitment. Staggered wheels are available in sizes from 17" to 22" staggered wheel applications. Staggered applications mean a wider wheel on the rear of the car, and consequently, a wider tire and larger lip on the back of the car. Wheel lips are as large as 5". Yes, that's rightâ€â€5" lips on one-piece cast wheels! Many of the wheels are available in hyper black and hyper silver paint finishes with machine cut lips (often referred to as diamond cut or mirror cut). Although chrome is becoming more popular with TSW enthusiasts, hyper black wheels and hyper silver wheels dominate the current TSW wheel lineup. TSW wheels are sold with hub centric to rings to ensure a vibration-free ride. TSW wheels are manufactured to extremely high standards that often significantly exceed the industry norm, resulting in a smoother, better handling ride. TSW is predominately sold in Europe but is also a major force in North and South America, New Zealand and South Africa. TSW also sells a range of Marquee-exclusive wheel brands. 15. I get it your one of them Price tag/Label people. Oh yeah I made a mistake, apologies the wheels cost me £3550 just for alloys. Oh yeah & they say Armani on the centre caps! That reminds me I must get down to Kings Rd to get some of them Burberry underpants, they must be nice as they are £90 for one. ps Am I going to spend £3,000 on alloys plus £800 on tyres, almost £4,000 for wheels on a car that cost me £17k!!! Thats almost a quater of the total vehicle purchase price!!!! I have nothing against you nor do I enjoy or ever get into arguments on internet forums as it is plain stupid & a waste of my time. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, you & I. But I would have thought being part of the admin team of this great forum you would show a little more tact & diplomacy in your comments. Especially to a recently joined member like myself. Ah well thats the end of this topic as far as I am concerned I have a business to run & dont have the time for talking about god dam alloy wheels at work!

    Mudflaps please!

Looking for 350z mudflaps rear especially & also front if possible. ps does anyone know if there are any companies selling for less than Nissan! Thanks, Ricky. ricky@hindeshotel.com
  17. Watchout with the Axis seller, Need for Speed have had some bad feedback on a couple of US msg boards regarding slow delivery times. If you want Ruff Racing this US seller is usually cheaper & does deals if you contact directly, especially with Invoice amount on shipping papers. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/VQMotorings-Online-Store_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm
  18. Val are you talking to me about my wheels specificly? ps cheap is a relative term, what you may define as cheap others may call expensive, on the other hand what you percieve to be expensive may be cheap to me. My old BMW M3 convertible cost me almost twice what a new Zed costs, - does that mean the Zed is crap, no or else I wouldn't have bought it. Saying that a new Porsche 997 Carrera S is £70k, does that mean the BMW M3 is crap?
  19. No sense in buying something just because its got a big price tag. Doesnt neccesarily mean its better, just means the seller/manufacturer is a shrew businessman/company. Whereas I always prefer to be the shrewd businessman not them!!
  20. They'r not split rims, they are just made in that design look. Though split rims are usually more expensive & heavier, though probably stronger. I will post pics on the car ASAP
  21. Why's that, mate? Its just that many sports cars tend not to go over 225 or 235 on the front as this can create a little bit of understeer due to larger wider footprint. IMO the zeds steering is perfect with 225 it comes with up front. Since fitting 245 the front wheels just seem a tiny weeny bit numb when turning the wheel IMO. I prefer a more point & shoot, sharp turn in that IMO 225 /235 would give you a little more of. Also going 235 will stiffen the sidewalls more than 245. Its one of the reasons why the Vauxhall Vx220 has such amazing precise handling is due in part to its very skinny front tyres.
  22. PS Thanks to Lomoto ; The Minel ; & Kev946 for their help while deciding, I must have bugged them with numerous pm questions about sizes & offsets etc. I think IMO the setup looks spot on, just as I wanted it. The rears have the wide filling out the arches look, almost reminds me of 911 porkers now! (It has completely changed the look of the car from the back, its as if someone has stretched it out, like widescrren 16:9 mode!!) The only thing I may alter at next tyre change is to go for 235/40/19 instead of what I have now 245/40/19.
  23. Thanks Chaps for your comments She doesnt really get driven much & not everyday, bit pampered really!! I have bought an anti corrosion spray called AF-250 which I have applied on it alreday. After doing a lot of research on US forums (popular in US) etc, nobody has corrosion problems, but that is the US, not rainswept bligthy!! I was meaning to weigh just the tyres but completely forgot & now its too late as theyr already on
