  1. CD's stuck in the changer, car out of warranty (2004 GT model). So it was sent of for "repair" only to be told they can't repair it but instead they get a factory refurbished unit at a cost of £250+VAT plus £58 for just looking at it Can anyone confirm the model number of the unit is Clarion PP2596L? I don't really want to lose the functionality of the BT phone unit or the steering wheel controls but if I go for an after market unit that's going to happen right?
  2. There's too many Blades/GM's in Bracknell these days. It wasn't me though
  3. Sorry Stevie, been away on hols, half term week you see No still not sorted, I'm going to try and remove the unit my self and try and get the CD's out. After I've broken everything I'm going to get an aftermarket unit, I like the look of zedrush's option
  4. I've already tried the knife I'll take the stereo out and see what I can do, I might end up replacing the BOSE coz this is the second time I've had trouble with it...piece of cr*p mutter mutter.
  5. Anyone ever had this problem? It makes the noise as if it's about to eject but fails to do so. I've got 6 stuck CD's now
  6. There was a GM two cars in front of me this morning, didn't notice the number plate though. Keep a look out for a Blade in the morning
  7. Hopefully I can make the next Wokingham meet then... Don't suppose you drive a gunmetal grey 350 through Winkfield Row in the morning H5?
  8. Warning noted, maybe he's mended his ways?? Meet in Wokingham on Sunday? Shame I'm in Scotland this weekend or is it
  9. On the one way street that runs parallel to the A30 at lunchtime today, I was parked up behind you...
  10. Yes it's all true I spoke to Mark the service manager, very nice chap.
  11. yep - I have been using them for years too - great prices !! You must be round the corner from me, I'm Warfield
  12. A quick update on my thoughts of the Toyo Proxes T1-R. This is "normal" road driving, not on a track. In the dry I don't think they are a whole lot better than a warmed up set of stock bridgestones but in the wet I'd say there's a noticeable improvement in grip. Noise wise I thought the toyos were quieter.
  13. Trev, the tyres have been ordered from Bracknell Tyre and Battery, Unit 1, Longshot Lane Ind Est, Longshot Lane, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 1RL, 01344 411323. I've used them for years and they've always been the cheapest, even against online tyre places like blackcircle etc.
  14. Well after much searching and failing to find F1 Asymmetrics in 225/45 R18 and 245/45 R18, I eventually called Goodyear to find out where I could get them from. It should be possible to get the 245/45 R18's but even although the 225/45 R18's are listed on the Goodyear website they don't make them and have no plans to So I've ordered a set of Toyo Proxes T1R's for a total of £470 including VAT and fitting.
  15. Brand new, never used as it was given to me as a present when I'd already bought myself one! £85 Delivered, can do paypal. PM me if interested
  16. I actually *know* this guy and I've driven that very car, it's very quick and much fun, not that I drove fast in it of course . Most unfortunate that someone would grass him up to the Sun of all papers.
  17. So I was having a bit of driving fun in the Zed last night with a few mates then went for a swift half before heading home. Car started fine but then a few seconds later the engine cut out, restarted fine but the CEL or Malfunction Indicator, engine warning light or whatever you want to call it stayed on a steady orange glow. Car drove fine for a few miles then conked out again as I pulled off at a roundabout. Car started ok again and I drove the 50 miles home no problem, but the light was still on. Light was still on this morning and again the car drove fine so I did an ECU reset and went for a blast, all seems ok. Doea this sound like a lambda / o2 sensor problem?
  18. Well I'm well prepared for them to last a lot less than the Bridgstones, I've managed 15K miles on the rears. In the GTV I was getting 8-9K on the fronts.
  19. I thought so to Andy I just wish there was a bit more experience out there with the F1 Asymmetrics, I guess they're just too new at the moment. The F1 GSD3's I've had before on my old GTV and they were great (but didn't last long).
  20. Has anyone tried the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric? http://eu.goodyear.com/uk_en/tires/repository/Eagle_F1AS/index.jsp I'm waiting for Bracknell Tyres to come back to me with prices for front and rear (standard 18's). If they're too much then I'll be going for the Toyo T1-R's which I've been quoted £108 each for the fronts (fitted and balanced) and £128 each for the rears, pretty good prices?
  21. Anyone got the European maps on CD (not DVD) that they could "lend" me for a trip to Europe this summer, to include the Stelvio Pass ?? Please!
