  1. Yeah, considered selling it a few times but it's still here - had to get an MOT for it at end of March - first time I have had an MOT since 1993 :D

Hope you are well, not been on forums that much in recent times.

  2. As I will be off on holiday again in England, France & Belgium in a few weeks time, I was interested in getting a list of all Shell PFS's on my route. As I will be making quite a few journeys from within UK the service station locater on the Shell website wasn't the best to use.

I sent them an e-mail asking if they had a document listing all PFS's in the UK with postcodes and within an hour it was in my inbox, great customer service.

If anyone wants a copy, it's a MS Excel document, drop me a PM with an e-mail address and I will send it on.

  3. Don't think it has been mentioned by Machargs are owned by Arnold Clark and that in itself explains it all.

Servicing is one thing for them to do but I wouldn't let them do anything else as they are nothing but incompetent.

Hope you get a satisfactory conclusion.

I know of a good bodyshop in Bathgate West Lothian but again I would expect a wait as he is often busy due to the standard of his work.

    Place is called:

  4. I have a non GT roadster and my previous car was a top spec 206CC with leather and I didn't miss it.

Cruise control would be useful but not the end of the world. Stereo upgrade would also be nice but the one in the non GT is perfectly acceptable.

I was similar to yourself. I wanted a roadster and didn't want to stretch to a GT model and didn't want a coupe where I could have afforded a GT one.

Months after getting the car I moved house and my mortgage doubled so I was right in my choice financially.

  5. Not been on here for ages so just catching up now.

I won't vote for a month but it would have to be 2nd part of August or September to be able due to holidays for my team at work plus I am away myself in July for two weeks for 2000 miles in England, France and Belgium.

Once a date is set, I will definitely go if free.

Had considered selling the Z to raise cash but keeping it now :D

  6. Not been on here for ages so just read this....

You won't have any problem with the ferry. I crossed from Dover to Calais during summer 2006 on P&O and the car was fine.

Going back over this summer after spending 9 nights in the South of England, then going over to Brussels for 4 days.

All booked up and ready to go :D

  7. Remember reading about the silicone ones, can't remember what they were called.

What do they cost approx and where is best to get them ?

Am I right in saying someone on here sold them ?

  8. jeez, its about 93.9p - 97.9p in most stations near me.....

Are you sure thats Optimax / SUL etc.. or just NUL ?

Cheapest for SUL on Monday nationwide was supposed to be 96.9 which is likely to be a Sainsburys as their SUL is not the same as Tesco/Shell.

  9. If you are getting a plate with your initials with ZED then you will probably need to let the plate go with the car when it is sold as it would look daft on any other car.

If you pay for £799 or so for the plate, then you will get very little of this or none at all back on a future trade-in so you will take a big loss.

I previously had P20G CC (mis-placed) on a 206CC which I sold on quite easily for 2.5 times what I originally paid for it in a private purchase. I then has CC05 PUG for a 307CC that I ended up not buying as I changed my mind and bought the 350Z roadster instead. As the cars were rare, I sold that on at a 25% loss to get rid of the plate.

Earlier this year I bought X11 DDS and am far happier with that than a Z plate as at least if the Z goes then I can keep the plate on any car.

  10. Not been on for one reason or another in the last 2 months or so so very sorry to read this post today.

Due to not being on, I have no idea of what has gone on. I have known Val through 206CC forum and this one for quite a few years and also met up with him in Blackpool (206CC) and more recently when he was working in Scotland with a few of the other 350Z guys.

IMO, he was a good guy and I wish him all the best for the future. Hopefully this forum will also continue as it has done so far in the future as well.

  11. Really gutted for you. Although I have been lucky for a number of years, I went through a spell where 3 cars I owned all under a year old were extensively keyed while at work and one of these cars was also kicked in all along the passenger side outside my house - also due to work.

There's nothing worse than coming out to see that.

  12. Just about the same as mine, I was offered 22k trade in 6 months ago if that helps.

Is yours the GT model or the base model ? Mines is the base model.

ok 50p and THREE curly wurly's, i'll pick the roadster up at the weekend then :)

sorry for going slightly off topic

I know you too well :D

    Thanks Martin & Dan.
