I'm quickly becoming a Varis fanboy.
Bought both my carbon lip and carbon bonnet from Envy South.
I am VERY happy with my purchases.
a carbon bonnet, now this i have to see, you cheeky monkey, i know you were talking about it last week when you popped round, i take it you must have gone back to another envy fitting session and given in and bought that bonnet you were eying up
nice work can't wait to see it

that sounds nice, where abouts did you get it from?

i've had the pop charger fitted, and i now have the typhoon fitted. there is a slight difference in noise, not much, just a minor variant in pitch.
for me the difference is n the engine bay, i wanted a polished intake pipe, and the kit i bought gave me that and a cold air feed from the bumper.
i think it just comes down to personal preferece, i have designs in my head of how the engine bay will look and the typhoon fulfilled them.

check camskills out on the web. best prices on tyres, or tyremen are prettygood, as are black circles.
i priced up 4 vredesteins ssantas on camskills at about £120 a corner i think it was about £480 for 4 tyres, toyos were around the same price and falkens were about £90 a corner and came in at under £400 for 4 tyres.
thats wehere i will be going to get my tyres from once the stock stones run out.
those prices are excluding fitting.

if it helps on the xbox 360 on forza motorsports 2 the in the upgrade tyre section Avon seem to be rated the best.
sadly in real life i couldn't tell you
but if you want a nother choice the vredestein ssantas have had excellent reviews and finished 2nd in the evo tyre test last year. and go for around the same money.

am liking the Stillen louvres how much are a set of them?
also noticed several cars with gas struts on the front bonnets. where abouts can i get them from and how much as well. i much prefer working on a car like that than on the manual bonnet prop
by the way, that looked like an awesome day.
will have to comedown some time, but maybe leave the wallet at home cos it looks lik eit could be an expensive day, as i'm terrible at saying no

no offence caused, it doesn't bother me, i find it quite funny, just means i have to try extra hard and get help from my family when i have to do CV's application letters etc. which i don't do very often
most of my work i do on the computer which tends to be quite good at mopping up most of my mistakes.
as for the spelling of gramma, or grammer prime example of my literary **** ups
lucky i'm a tech teacher really and not an english teacher otherwise i'd be completely useless at my job

there is also the forum whos name shall not be mentioned for they are like voldermote and would devour our souls if we alk about them
there is another UK forum nissansports.
some members frequent both, its meant to be a nice forum has simialr things to offer as here.
my personal preference is here, its where i started and where i'll stay, occassionally pop onto the yank forums for a hit of the expensive mods to look at; like TT, superchargers and anything else weird and wonderful
Voldemort - get it right (coming from a harry potter fan to a teacher
)
i'm the worst speller in the world and my grammer and punctuation suck
while i was teacher training we did a section on dsylexia and how to spot it. thats when i found out that apparently i am on the dsylexic spectrum and display certain tendencies.
i thought it was quite funny, i'd got this far in life and managed,
my othe rproblem is fat fingers, i hit all kinds of keys when i'm typing, and then i'm too lazy to go back and change it

Confirmed ITS A DUAL ZORST!!! is this better?
sound like a very happy and excitable bunny
glad to see your enjoying the new car, and the nice surprise. look forward to seeing some pics.
as for is a dual better. its down to personal preference. if its a true dual from manifold back it can offer more tuning capabilites if you go the TT route and have a new ECU you can see more gains. and generally they also tend to be louder. (but not always)

have pm'd you Danny about the kit, i may well take all of the kit parts. but need to see photos of damage. look forward to speaking to you.

plenty of popple and backfires, not a bad sound,
are you happy with the setup now its all in?

Went to Dastek in Dalgety Bay in 2005 (30 minutes drive for me) with my Zed for a dyno run and a chat about power upgrades.
Total waste of time and money as they were absolutely clueless with no Zed experience.
Don't know what they are like now and will never know because I will not return.
I now do a round trip of 1000 miles to get my mapping done by a HKS specialist who I can trust.
Alex.
They
Hmmmm. I got an email back today and they say a Unichip can be fitted to my JDM Zed. They specifically asked weither it was JDM or UK, so they must have done some research on them lately.
£399.99 for installation and tuning.
I must admit, its tempting.
There must be at least one person on here running one?
Thanks.
does that mean they won't do the uk spec one, or they need to use a different setup?

i'd be interested to see what it does, to be honest if it gets it to notice and utilise the mods we add. instead of cancelling them out. will watch this with anticipation to see what you fijnd out.

i think the EK9 engine fits in there fairly easily, best bet is to check out the civic forums for the info you want, they have done many an engine swap.
there is a new member on here, who has come over from the CTR so he would probably have a better idea, jerry somebody.

+1 for the iphone,
i looked at all the other phones, but the ipohne offers the best quality. my wife just got ride of her nokia as it was useless. dropping calls, freezing programmes, bought herself the samsung tocco and loves it.

as said so many times before, tyres are a personal preference, horses for courses, no matter how many people you get post on here there won't be a unanimous decision on what to use.
me personally, i will be putting vredestein ssantas on all four corners when the stones run out. other options on here are your toyos and falkens.
to put in simple terms you gets what you pays for (quote from popeye)
ultra high performance tyres
-Michelin Pilot sports
-vredestein ssantas
-bridgestone re040's and 50's
midrange/budget
-toyo proxies t1r
-falkens 452
cheap crap
- nankang
- marshall
these are just a few your UHP tyres will cost the most and strike a balance between wear, stiffness, grip lifespan and tyre noise, the firther you go down the more the differences vary, some have better dry grip but are a softer compound and wear out quicker etc.
me personally wouldn't stick anything other than UHP tyres on the ZED. midrange and budgets are good, but they are not as progressive as the UHP the grip is great until the point that they let go. but it all depends on how hard you drive the car. if you drive the car on the edge all the time and like totrack a car, or just want that piece of mind then get UHP if your a sporadic blatter and tend to blip the throttle on the straights and the occassional energetic drive, then save your money and get the midrange. if you have a death wish and want to turn your car into a ditch finding missle then fit the cheap crap ones.
hope that helps. just my view, and i'm sure others will agree and disagree. same as has been said in all the other tyre posted threads

they will either sell or they won't used this technique all the time, took down examples off autotrader to local nissan, there car was £4k over priced. most he would knock off was a couple of hundred. his response was if you won't buy it someone else will.
if you find one cheaper else where, why not just go and buy that one. i haven't bought a car locally since my very first one.
i live in suffolk and bought my zed from harrowgate, my last car was from stoke on trent, and the ca rbefore that was enfield. if the savings worht the travel then travel.
i didn't even test drive the zed i bought, saw it asked the right questions agreed on a px, they brought it down for me and took mine away. as it was from a dealer the miles were low i wasn't worried, as you have comeback on things and a warranty.

i might make a few of these

1st person says, get B stones they are a great tyre....
2nd person says, Falkens all day mate
3rd says, P rossos are a good tyre, huge company
4th says, MPS if you can afford it...
5th says, Toyo's are a great choice imo
This is getting boring know....
All i want is a good set of rear tyres that we can ALL agree on without selling a kydney
and makes everybody happy...
if it makes things worse, i'm going to replace all my bridgestones with Vredestein Ssantas.
very good tires, not hughly known about. favourites of the corvette scene. some members on here sue them and swear by them.
for me the falkens and toyos are mid range tyres, they do a damn good job, they are better than the stones in the wet, but there breakawy isn't as progressive. stones will out perform both those tyres on a good hot day.
i've had stones on my last 3 cars, and also put toyos on several cars as well. stones have a great stong side wall, but they do tramline a bit and can be noisey, toyos tend to be softer and quiter, but offer better wet weather grip. toyos are progressive to a point but when they go its almost instant, where at least the bridgestones are more progressive.
what you have to go for is what your happy with. if you like what you have, and it hasn't caused you any problem, then stick with it. only change if you feel you need to.

No pics yet. Was going to take this afternoon but it was peeing down!
I did a few other bits and bobs at the same time so not sure how many cans for the cover. One probably but two maybe...
I just covered up the lettering. Wanted to keep it but thought it would be a pain. If I decide to make it silver then I'll perhaps make up decals to cover it.
I used a white plastic primer and topped off the paint with petrol proof laquer. Thought it might make all the difference being in the engine bay! I guess I'll find out!
Used plenty of wet and dry paper during the process too.
have worked out that when i do mine, i am going to sand the 3.5 and V6 bits off completely, and then re add them with a decal as a perfect match. that way i don't needto line it up, just reapply once painted.
was thinknig about this for ages and then it hit me. far easier than trying to mask it all off.

ebay is often a good bet,
also try zmanalex i think he breaks a lot of 350z's for parts, he may well have some second hand at a fair price.
