  1. Sound deadening works but don't expect complete silence. It does provide a positive resistance to road noise, on the basis you cover the boot space and wheel arches (350z).

I've done all the rear section, boot and sub location including doors and would say it reduced road noise and stopped plastics rattling against existing metal panels. Doors have been done behind the door cards and behind the door speaker (which is recommended when upgrading your front door speakers).

You could do the roof, but you're not going to benefit unless you're going for SPL which the Zed doesn't really have decent capacity to install a wall of subs.

  2. Oh yes fuel economy, forget it, it'll drink. Whilst I'm sure all the V8 manufacturers will state oh we can get 30mpg+ from their engines, the real world numbers are going to be completely different. On average I get 18mpg which takes into account my lengthy drive to London (motorway). If I decide that my wallet is feeling frugal this week, then it's more like 13. The V8 replaces the word economy with the word FUN.

You will need a mortgage to fund a V8 if it's a daily.

  3. My fault I didn't look to see who posted, yes you're boosted already  you're just being greedy for power now ha ha.

Keyser was running water meth with his NOS which was basically my old system. I guess depending on your limitations of the build you can squirt as much juice as you want. Being boosted makes a huge difference to the delivery of NOS and the gains are much better.

You will need to sort out NOS heaters and the likes of the associated gear. Keyser was also running the Haltech which of course can swap maps on the fly to deliver the juice.

  4. I used to run a 75 shot, with good Torque gains of around 55-60. But for the sake of going faster I'd suggest FI (used SC maybe) or loosing car weight. Either way you're constrained by the limitations on a stock block. You also need to ask yourself 'where do I stop with increasing power?'.

  5. Damn - Wasso visiting in a Zed this will be about the first time in 3 years

    Nice one mate

I've visited the last few times with a Zed remember..... sorting out the niggles. I know what you mean though, a non "work on car day". If you change the date Jayne won't be able to attend unless she takes holiday. Will see what I can do though.

Edit: I also can't make the weekend prior as I'll be at the CAT driver day.

  6. To be fair there's a lot of talk with folk looking at V8's these days.... don't worry all you lot do is blow your engines, strip them, or sell them. Not much of a success....

Still..... I am heavily curious to FI.... you can't get rid of me THAT easily!

  7. 8. Keyser:NEW: 370z GTM 1.5 SC 445 RWHP /??? Lb/ft

    26. Keyser - 370z GTM Stage 1.5 SC, VQ37HR stock, 7.0psi, UpRev, 440bhp@hubs and ???ft/lb torque (I'll dig the dyno out)

Also too lazy to get your torque figures since post number 8

  8. As a pretty widely populated forum one think i dont notice a lot of on here is, had my zed nicked or written my zed off, so i just struggle to believe its a high risk vehicle that insurers are making it out to be!

In 4 years i cant remember a stolen thread and maybe 1 or 2 written off.

I drive mine like I stole it, if that counts ;)

  9. Aye cheers Adele, flourishing meet to be fair, nice food and you can't beat the south for a friendly bunch.

Have to say considering I was under the weather loved the 90 minute drive through the twisties of the Cotswolds on a nice sunny. This of course comes at a cost of half a tank of fuel but every minute worth it.

Great to see old mates too :teeth:
