  1. Hey guys, I bought some second hand shocks and springs recently for my 06 350z as the old ones were looking as if they had it. I have some super flex front lower shock bushes which I was going to put in whilst installing the shocks and springs and was after some advise. Ideally I would like to leave the lower arms attached to the car but remove the bushes, is this possible? We do have a ball joint press (c clamp type). If this isn’t possible does anyone know the easiest way to get the old bushes out? thanking you
  2. Thanks again for all of your help. I will try and get some before and after pics so you can see the results
  3. Brilliant. So what I will do then is (let me know if there is anything you would do differently) 1. Wash car (chemical guys blacklight) 2. Dry with microfibre drying towel 3. Clay (meguires clay bar) 4. Chemical guys V38 with a green hex pad all over - (rpm between 4.5-5 after initial few passes at 1.5-2) 5. Chemical guys V36 on a orange hex pad if scratches are still visible. Then follow by V38. 6. Apply meguires yellow wax manually 7. Apply meguires ceramic spray manually A quick question for point 5, what rpm would you use for v36 on orange hex pad? Also we haven’t currently got a liquid wax for the da, do you have any suggestions using a black hex pad? Sorry for all the questions you seem to be the detailing pro
  4. Thanks again for your advise yet again. Yes the resprayed work was done professionally and was baked in an oven. I don’t think the new paint is going to need much work but would like it to match. I have asked the seller of the hex pads to swap the yellow pad for a orange one as from what you were saying I think the yellow one will be to hard. Do you reckon v34/v32 on a orange pad on the headlights will be ok? Any advise on best way to clean the pads after use? I will clay the car before hand too, going to be a long day .
  5. Thankyou for your help and advise, much appreciated. There are maby 3-4 quite deep scratches, do you reckon it will be ok to use the harder cutting compound? Also would it still be ok on the recently resprayed areas to do the v36 and v38? When you say prime the pad each time do you mean a pad conditioner? If so I haven’t got any of this, I have some quick detailed spray, will this be ok?
  6. Hey guys, I have just just bought a chemical guys v line sample kit to go over my 350z with. It’s a black car which is all in all relatively quite shiny but when you get really close and in certain light there are loads of light scratches and swirl marks in the paint which really bugs me. I got some work done on the rear arches last year which required re spraying and also got the rear bumper resprayed. I have a DAS 6 da polisher and aswell as purchasing the chemical guys v line compound kit I also purchased a few of their hex pads (yellow, green, white and black). Will it be ok to use the v32 compound on a orange pad which removes 1200-1500 grit sanding scratches on the recently resprayed areas or would you choose to avoid? Any advise on what rpm would be ideal to use whist going through the different compounds? I was hoping to do all 4 compounds starting with the most aggressive, working my way down to remove as many scratches as possible then go over with some maguires yellow wax followed with maguires ceramic wax. I have attached a link to the chemical guys kit https://www.chemicalguysuk.co.uk/shop/exterior/paint-correction/chemical-guys-gap_vkit_04-v-line-polish-compound-sample-kit-4-oz-v32-v34-v36-v38/
  7. Mine after a quick wash today. Pretty standard other than a cobra exhaust 20mm rear spacers and full genuine nismo body kit
  8. It says in the description for that item that you need to make a frame from wood to get it to fit. I’m looking for something that will fit straight in without any modification if possible
  9. I wonder how many people will be cleaning their zed’s on Sunday
  10. Hey guys, Im looking at completely upgrading the stereo in the 350z. I have recently bought a new pioneer headunit, JL audio c1 rear speakers and JL audio c1 components for the front. I’m looking at getting a new sub as my JL 10” sub annoyingly won’t fit in the existing cubby behind the drivers seat. Do any actually fit perfectly in the cage? Thanks
  11. Welcome to the forum. Looks like a well looked after Zed from the mirror like paint. Loving the plate too
  12. @Shunter8 thanks, if you could send over some pics when you remove them I will let you know, mileage seems quite high but without seeing the condition of them I’m not sure.
  13. Thanks buddy but would ideally like to get a full set as otherwise I’m going to have to ask for shocks and top mounts too.
  14. Hey guys, As title says, I’m after oem front and rear shocks and spring from a de, ideally with top mounts but not essential.
  15. I had a crew of about 5 young lads probably about 11yrs old shout out ‘that’s a well cool car mate, I love your car’ whilst On there bikes. I then got home and heard a 4/5 year old boy say to his dad ‘that car is well nice’. Would like to think we are inspiring the younger generation
  16. Hey guys, I have a 56 plate 350z and the shocks and springs all round are looking a bit shabby. I have a genuine nismo kit and was thinking about getting some original shocks and springs put back on as I would prefer to not ruin the front bumper. My question is, is that would I need to look for shocks and springs from just a 56 or can I look at earlier and hr shocks and springs, I’m not sure if there is a different ride height or fixings? thanks
