Looks real special, very smart!! How have you found tyre wear on the rear being this low?

Camber visually looks similar to what I'm running currently on the back (I adjusted in some more neg camber recently by eye using my adjustable camber arms). I recently did a track day and tyre wear was not an issue on the inside shoulder and seemed even across the tread - so probably the ideal camber which I guess is around -1.5 -2 ?

By comparison his front looks very upright (close to 0) although depending on stiffness of springs, as the car brakes this would increase neg camber. But then as you come off brakes and ease back onto throttle I guess will got back to 0 deg, which while cornering will wear the outside shoulders....

Sorry David, I didn't get a notification for this. Track cover we can do individually or as a bundle on a policy (great savings if you plan on doing at least 2) - We don't have the driving other cars fully comp option I'm afraid.

    Carlie

Thanks Carlie - I spoke to a colleague the other day. Unfortunately you don't offer agreed valuation policies unless the car is under cover or the Flexcover Flux do.

I will consider you for one-off track cover in future though. I understand the 5 pack isn't available unless main policy is with you.

They really don’t. The 911 sells twice as much as the 718 series put together, in any region. And those sales are about 20% of how many Cayennes and Macans they sell!

But really who cares about how many cars VAG sell, that’s a massive company who have huge successes across all segments. Nissan have to be way more careful, and if they are delaying the GTR then the new Zed has to be even more important to them as a halo model.

Bit like between R34 and R35 era... The 350Z was launched right in the middle and carried the candle.

On a photo the Alpines look terrible, in reality look better, but still not for me. Rather be in an Evora :teeth:

Indeed. Second hand Evora that is... Around same price as a brand new A110?

But then I've always thought it's a bit mad to buy brand new cars, unless it's pretty rare and you're on a manufacturer's preferred buyer list....

Gonna say what we're all thinking. I don't give a flying fubar about the sales and costs and whatever. I just want the next generation of VQ in my life.

VR30DETT - can see them being monsters... 700-800whp stock block maybe?

Edit - although would need E85/102 octane + ... Maybe 600whp on UK 98 RON? Hmm

Fact is no Japanese sports cars out sell their European rivals, Nissan Toyota are not sports car manufacturers like Porsche and don't need to rely solely on sport car sales. It's no secret that Porsche rely heavily on Cayenne sales to prop up the rest of the range. If you understand the above to be correct, then your concerns aren't nothing to worry over.

I'm pretty sure I see more 911s and Caymans than Cayennes, Panameras and Macans. (Modern ones - not counting 996s, 987s etc.)

    Maybe regional though

Put it this way, Alpine have struggled with a class-leading car that genuinely stands out from the crowd: why would a rebodied 370 which wasn’t even class-leading when it came out ten years ago fare any better?

Because Nissan actually do have more (modern) reputation for sports cars. Renault's Alpine history is a lot longer ago and out of most people's memories.

Cayman and A110, both significantly better to drive and also more interesting to look at, if that’s your main thing. Cayman available as a manual as well, Alpine a complete one-off that you’ll very rarely come across (I’ve still not seen one in the flesh round here!).

Good ideas... The Alpine I can see holding value as well. I've heard very good things. Only downside is it's a 4 cyl. Amazing curb weight around 1100kg. I'd say it's quite a different car to a Supra, M2, M4, Cayman.

Cayman is one of few cars I'd realistically move to from the Z, although I think running/parts costs would be far higher. Also the GTS with the 6 cyl is £65-80k...

Just like how you’d be bonkers to buy a Supra over the rivals too. :)

Confused by this... Competition being ... M2 at it's price point? Far less interesting to look at.

What other cars am I missing that are rwd coupes around £45-60k?

Shipping back to the UK using container space is the affordable way to ship back from the US, just a matter of having the contacts to do it.

One assumes the OP doesn't run their 350Z through/as a business .... jeez. Not to mention being against the spirit of tax law.

    350 Nismo S Tune exhaust - ConceptZPerformance $799.95 = £630

Plus considerable shipping, import duty and import handling fee.... probably another £200-£250

  12. I also suffered the same juddering as Alex when braking from high speed...

Disc surfaces seem fine and it was doing it all day long as soon as they got hot - anything on the surfaces should have been well scrubbed off?!

Driving the car today, no juddering... which makes me think it's not hub/disc run-out. But would overheating pads cause severe juddering through the sterring wheel?

Having said that, seems the pads might be badly worn after yesterday as the pedal travel and feel has changed drastically - far less travel, making you have to almost stab at the pedal rather than feather it on the road.

ps. Any opinions on DS3000 pads?
