The day off work isn't a problem so count us both in for this.
If you need more people I have a few that I can ask, they won't be in Z's though, let me know
-
Hired out curborough a few weeks ago with some friends, was a great day out. Perfect for a beginner track day but even those with a lot of track experience really enjoyed it.
Should have my wishbones replaced by then so this would be a great chance to test both them and my new brake pads out.
My gf would like to come too, is that ok? We can either share the driving time or she can bring her BMW.
Will request the day off work today and if it's all good can confirm for sure later

Aquagrafix have a section in the traders forum here.
I've just had some parts done by a company local to me: http://a1hydroprint.co.uk
See my build thread if you wanna take a look

Here she is just after I bought her a few months ago, just after a wash.
And here's Billy exploring the new car
Everything standard apart from some japseed exhausts installed by the previous owner.
I have some plans for the car but nothing anywhere near as extravagant as some of you guys. But I'm still excited about it so will put some pics up in here from time to time instead of spamming the rest of the forum.
Its my daily driver but has already been on a couple of track days and I hope to keep them up doing a few each year.
Parts done already:
Installed double din stereo
Ferodo ds2500 pads all round
HEL braided brake lines
Motul 600 brake fluid
Hydrodipped rear strut cover and some interior trim
Black z badges and z wheel caps
Pirelli p zero tyres all round
New floor and boot mats
Before
After
Next up:
New wishbones
Polybushes on all front suspension components
Fix some parking dings
Longer term:
Rear polybushes
Bonnet respray, general paint touch ups and a good machine polish
Coilovers
Refurbish driver's seat
More interior from dipping
Refurbish gear knob

Offering this for free if you can collect from Oxford.
Included are only the parts that you can see in the photo.
Used the bits I needed to fit my double din unit now I just have this taking up space.

Was going to get it dipped but the Z is snapped so found a another one to work with now it's just taking up space.

Thanks.
Your order was despatched yesterday.
Cheers, they arrived today. They look good, will post a pic when they're on the car

Are you think the steering column trim or the silver steering wheel trim?
Either way am I at risk of accidentally setting off the air bag or anything like that?
-
Thanks will do that.
The main reason I got a quote from this particular place is because they are reasonably local so I'd save money on postage etc. Let's see what those other places say..
-
I've just had a quote to dip a few bits of interior trim... The door handles ( just the bits with the window controlls) and the rear strut brace cover.
They are asking for £160.
It was a little more than I anticipated, anyone have any idea if that's about right or what cost I should be looking at?
-
I thought my steering wheel stereo controls were completely broken until yesterday when I accidentally changed the volume while the wheel was turned.
Turns out, half a turn to the left and they work.
The cruise control buttons have always been ok. I'm assuming it is a faulty connection somewhere, any ideas where to start looking?
-
I'd like a set of these please, also a couple of other items that you're selling, already dropped you a pm.

Looks like I've finally got somewhere with this.
Thanks again to @Mark@Abbey m/s for your help and advice and the @ZMANALEX for supplying a second hand ECU and being patient with my dumb questions.
I installed the 2nd hand ECU this morning (which already has an uprev on it) and the problem has gone, it drives so much more smoothly now. The NATs light is on but I think that's pretty normal for an uprev ECU?
Or is it possible to get the code from nissan and have both the uprev and the NATs coded in?
It was a bit of a kerfuffle getting the ECU swapped over
But now it idles normally
And I could finally put my new mats in
-
Would you take £50 for it? Could drive down and collect on Tuesday evening, Friday evening or Saturday any time
-
Gave the Optima kit ago over the weekend.
Before
After
Not sure how clear it really is in the picture but the difference was noticeable straight away.
Got a bit of condensation in my headlamps so they still aren't perfect but much better and well worth the £13

A big shout out to Mark at Abbey Motorsports. A top bloke who went out of his way to help me out today, we've now figured out for sure that the issue with my car is definitely the ECU.
Next step is to get the dealer to pay for the replacement!

Just quoting to confirm my track time. Gonna do it regardless of the high idle issue.
See you all on Sunday, can't wait!
-
I've finally managed to get the dealer to get this checked out at his cost. I'm stuck driving a rental Corsa at the moment, hopefully he has it sorted in time for Japfest.
His mechanic thought that the issue was the throttle bodies but I still reckon ECU... Will update when we find out for sure, he has said he's booked it into nissan tomorrow so I reckon his own diagnostics showed nothing

Tickets should be emailed to us all next week going on previous years.
Im hoping after last years success and the large number of cars in attendance we will be allocated a prime spot preferably on tarmac.(near the food).
I have to spoken to a couple of Z legends (keyser and Buster) who will be parked up at each end of the first row(With club flags),and thankfully are going to help me get you all lined up and ready to show off your pride and joy!
This is one of the biggest car shows at the finest venue in the uk so get in early (8.30min) to avoid being stuck in a jam with the general public.
A note to all 7 members who have booked track time. You will be allocated parking on the front row so you can get in and out of the stand easily.
This is going to be one awesome collection of Z cars!!!!
Hi
I've booked track time but forgot to mention it next to my name on the list.
Will only be doing the track time if I can get my high idle issue sorted first though so fingers crossed
-
Hi to the driver of the silver Z in Abingdon just now who gave me a thumbs up and a cheeky smile.
Areyou a fellow forumer?
-
Hi Mark.
One thing I've been trying to avoid is spending money on unnecessary repairs. While at the moment everything points to it being the ECU I've heard other suggestions such as a faulty lambda sensor, Faulty MAFs or throttle bodies etc... How much work would it take to be able know what the issue is for sure?
My concern about the re-flash is that by leaving a light on the dash and disabling the immobiliser it makes the car harder to sell on in the future and would probably affect its value. I would also have to inform my insurance company that it no longer has an immobiliser.
The dealer who sold it to me is being very slow about getting it all sorted so I may be able to help influence where it gets taken for its repair, he would need to be confident though that the issue could be diagnosed and repaired for a reasonable price... As it's the dealer paying for it, if it is the ECU I think he should be paying for a complete replacement, is that something you guys would also do?

Will keep this up for another week then I'm just gonna have to chuck it.
