  1. Ha ha yes you could jack all your gear in and buy some Turtle Wax
  2. I think you make an excellent point about the work you're doing being enough for what you want. We can all acknowledge that we could spend a week on the car and spend hundreds on products but there has to be a level of reality in it all. I spent six hours on my friend's car this weekend and would happily put the pics and comments up if anyone wants to see. It's a Fiat but I got to use all my new products though.,,,
  3. One of the best little steps I ever did was ditching the chamois. It was awful at drying, even an expensive one. Switching to a towel for drying was a bit of a 'lights on' moment. I'm just about to do my friend's car today and I'm quite excited about it. It's a Fiat 500 and it's filthy.
  4. I can see how this would never end!! You could buy one of every product type but then it just gets into different brands and products and then into machine polishing and the world of cutting compounds and into paint correction and all that!!
  5. I'm up to page 16 in that thread, it's like my current book. Just spent another bunch of money on products I didn't have like glass cleaner, trim cleaner, more pads and towels, drying towel etc. This hobby is not going to be good for someone like me who absolutely loves doing a buy.
  6. Love this car so much. All beautifully done and really cool.
  7. Hello and welcome. I do a fair bit of town driving and I've just gone from an auto Subaru Legacy to a manual 350z. The auto was great but the manual is great too. Without ever having driven an auto zed, I'm sure you'd enjoy either car
  8. I'm going to this and will be with the NPOC guys, be nice to see some other Z cars there
  9. Welcome. That's a really nice Impreza. I just sold my Legacy B4 RSK to change to a 350z and I absolutely love the Z.
  10. I'm gonna read that entire thread tomorrow at work!!
  11. I can imagine!! I already spent £250 just on the stuff in this thread. Saying that, it was big one time items like the washer and the foam lance. Could fancy trying the Desire wax. I don't deserve it yet, once I get more into it I'd be very tempted just for sheer curiosity!!
  12. I had a Lexus LS400 for a while and was doing 55 miles per day in that. It was a hundred quid to fill up and it went down super quick. I have no idea the mpg as I just kept filling it back up. All I do know is that I was spending over £500 a month on fuel. Saying that, it was a great car.
  13. I never really think to look on YouTube, it would be quite easy to get bogged down in a lot of detail at once. I like to give it a try and then I've got some questions to seek more information on. I did end up buying the snow foam lance and snow foam at 1.30am this morning. I'm looking forward to getting more products and testing different ones out and learning more about what they all do
  14. For a hose, I bought this. I'm just assuming it fits my outside tap and also assuming the washer unit will come with an adaptor that fits itself. Hozelock 30m Starter Hose Starter Set https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004EJYF4K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_b.flzbTV0YXR2
  15. Damn that question mark!! That's a good question and one I'm not sure about. Are we talking tap end here or washer end? I'm assuming the washer has hose attachment to fit itself?
  16. Okay I'm all ordered up. Got the Nilfisk unit and a hose pipe. Got the above stuff from Polished Bliss. Got a few extras in as needed a mitt and a decent bucket and towel etc. Thanks for the advice, really looking forward to using it all!?
  17. Ok that's brilliant thank you. Polished Bliss have no BH foam in currently but my basket looks like this.
  18. Car is in great condition and the paint is lovely. I just like keeping it nice rather than the fact it needs sorting out
  19. Will buy this today unless anyone says there is better for similar coin Nilfisk C110 7-5 Xtra C Pressure Washer - Blue https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MRWOSJE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_x5elzb8MV1TDY
  20. Oh, one of the questions asked was what I was trying to achieve would be a factor in product choice. I clean more than the average person but I'm evidently no expert. I enjoy cleaning the car though so I don't need a product to last all year or twice a year etc. I like to be able to stand back at the end and see how deep the shine looks. A really nice eye catching shine on the day is more important to me than how long it will last before needing done again. Also, I'm not the strongest person so something that goes on easy and comes off easy is good as I'd get knackered buffing for ages and doing all the stages. Cost is less important to me really.
  21. I'm using Bilt Hamber double speed wax at the moment. Thank you for the tips above. Do you think the Nilfisk Titan 120 from Argos is a good buy for 100 quids? So for a really good amateur step up, we're saying after the washing and drying is done: Scholl 20 Scholl 30+ PoorBoys White Diamond Bilt Hamber Wax I think I'm missing a sealant. Is there one product that would be good to do the job of the 20 and 30+ in one go? Rightly said, I have no machine polisher. Never tried one before so I do it all by hand.
  22. Ha ha thanks for that. It's a shame they don't include a hose because it's the only item stopping it being used straight from the box.
  23. Ha ha love that diagram!! Needs a key though to denote which items you need to already own
