  1. Thanks I got it done on the day in the end. I was trying to lever the buttons not the small trim section behind them. Once I did that the install was reasonably easy apart from trying to fit in all the extra wiring 😬

  2. Glad you love her. I've had mine since November and I'm still discovering little features that make me smile. I was fitting a dab Ariel and noticed the air vent channels to the doors have a little Z on them. So cool.

That said it also has bits that frustrate me. Doors that don't open in the frost and the worlds worst oil dip stick are the worst.

As was the case with zeezeebada I wasn't originally considering a zed. I wanted an R34 but got fed up of saving so I wanted an evo. The move to NA was made easy though as soon as I had a test drive. I change cars a lot but I think the zed might be staying for a while ðŸ‘ðŸ»

  3. I have had over 30 (if not more) Zedds at my house and probably half could do with a belt change, I do advise this to them, it's easy enough with the guides section to help

Yeah it was a doddle to do. Didn't take long and has added a lot of peace of mind.

  4. Thanks to google someone said they managed to wire the audio for their sat nav to a speaker but they didn't say how or which wires? I'm not taking the dash apart until the new stereo arrives but it would be nice to know what I'm doing in advance so that I do it all at once.

    Cheers

  5. Don't put boiling/hot/warm water on glass - you are asking for trouble, seriously stupid idea. (no personal offence Apooc124! - although not sure if that was in jest)

It was recommended just recently to get Gummi Pflege for the rubber seals (windows/boot):

    https://www.amazon.c...ds=Gummi Pflege

Try that first, if the lock mechanisms are properly greased then they should be fine.

I've been having the same issue. This morning I had to faf about for ages. I washed the door several times with increasingly warm water until eventually it opened.

I haven't got time to wait for a gummi pledge delivery but someone said silicone grease does the same thing so I've put some on. Will find out tomorrow if it's done the trick.

  6. Hopefully the weather will allow me to attend. The last two days my car doors have been frozen solid. Took me 40mins to open the door this morning! I've put silicone grease on the seals because someone on here suggested it, fingers crossed.

I've also changed my belts and given her a service. Plus I've washed the car. Not show and shine quality but good enough for January so now I'm all set 😀

See you all in the morning.

  7. What's the standard GT ride height? To my knowledge my car is standard (black springs with orange dots?) but I scrap the front bumper and undertray quite often during my commute to work? It's put me off buying a splitter.

Do the rest of you suffer from this?

  8. I've not had my zed long. I brought it with a full service history then as I was checking the oil I noticed wear on the belts. Swapped them out today

Looks like they should have been done years ago. It's worrying that I have a full book of stamps but the last garage didn't bother/notice the belts.

  9. Had to come to work today in the Mrs' Fiat 500 and I'm 6'4!

Couldn't open either door this morning due to the frost. I tried water and de-icer and spent about 20mins trying all to no avail. I've had frameless doors before but I've never failed to get in a car due to ice.

When I resigned myself to taking her car her door opened right away with no issues

    😡

  10. I have the dreaded CD skip on my Bose Stereo. I’ve tried lots of local audio specialists but cannot find anyone who can code a second hand unit for me. I can get it repaired but that costs £300, and for that sort of money I can buy a reasonable aftermarket unit.

I’d like a CD player, DAB, Handsfree iphone compatible and something compatible with the steering wheel controls and the existing BOSE amp and speakers. Oh and it needs to look like it belongs in the car.

Having done a brief search these are the 3 options I’m provisionally looking at (obviously I’m aware I will need accessories to go with it):

    Questions:

Has anyone used any of these. Fully compatible? Any installed pictures of these units?

Any other recommendations in this price bracket (£300 or under) that might be better suited to the 350?

Is my existing Sat Nav fully independent of the stereo?

  11. Slight update. The Astra has sold. Accepted an measly £100 for it because the mot only had 3 weeks left to run.

The Leon is still up for grabs but the decat has been fitted to sort the hole in the standard downpipe. I've also serviced it and a few other little bits. It now only has the drivers door electrics fault going against it. It's readvertised at £700 which is still cheap for 180bhp and 11months mot.

  12. Well that reply of mine was a bit out of sink, lord knows which page I was just reading but it wasn't the most recent one! Oops

It doesn't matter, this thread is all about gaming. You're looking forward to those titles and I know others are too.

You like immersive gaming, so what's the go to game for you at the minute?

I'm still really enjoying fallout. The console mods have really injected more playability for me. I'm also occasionally delving into mafia 3 but mostly I'm waiting for the next mass effect
