Got girly wrists, but hench forearms.
If I at least know it's possible I'll give it a go.
Good shout on the string.

My AC belt is looking a little worn and was wondering if it's possible to replace it without having to jack the car and remove the under-engine splashguard?
From what I understand I'll need to remove the larger aux belt first to get at the AC belt, but can't work out if I can get in from above and all the guides say to go from below.
I know it might be more of a ballache and take longer, but I'd prefer to do it that way if possible.
I've heard of people managing it on a HR, but that's a little different as I have an 07 Rev-Up DE.
Anyone got any experience or can provide some insight?
Cheers

At best it could be the release bearing. worst case scenario it could be the springs on the duel mass. either way its the box off.
Cheers.
Still under warranty and within 30 days of purchase, so I'm not too worried. Taking it in for the garage to have a look at on Thurs, just hoping to get an idea of what it could be.

Hey
Car has developed a noise when the clutch is up (foot off the pedal). See video:
Happens in any gear (inc neutral), but the noise disappears if I press the clutch or throttle.
It's intermittent, mainly happening when I first start the car and going away after a bit of use.
Earlier it actually made a worse noise when I pressed the clutch.
Some brief Googling would suggest the clutch release bearing has gone, but was looking for a 2nd opinion or if anyone has any other ideas about what the cause could be.
Cheers

Just went for a play and it had significantly improved and wasn't popping (like just after I fixed it), but then it started to degrade again.
Could it be that something is overheating?
-
So, the old post below still applies (and I'm still looking for a solution for that), but things are getting worse.
Along with the popping, the sub seems to cut out sometimes for an indefinite time (which does seem to be a known issue). I only notice this happen while the car is running, however if I turn the key back 1 notch (so the car is off, but the stereo stays on), the sub comes back. If I then start the car, I lose the sub again.
Any ideas why this would happen?
I did notice the Voltmeter is reading 14-15V. Dunno if this has any significance though?
OLD POST:
Hey
I am having an issue with the Bose sub making a popping sound, especially when I turn the volume up.
I took apart the amp and found someone had already tried the temporary fix of shoving a wedge of electrical tape between the relay and the case, so I decided to follow the guide here and replace the relay itself.
I connected it all back up and it worked great for about 5 minutes, but then the popping came back.
Turning the volume down meant the popping went away for a bit, but then it came back, so I lowered it some more, it went away for a bit and then came back etc etc.
Now it's at a level where there is no popping, but I have to have the volume at ~14, which is adequate, but not ideal.
If I turn the volume back up to where it was after I first fixed it, it pretty much just pops constantly.
I tested with the same song, just to make sure it wasn't a fluke or due to the song choice.
Now, considering it did sound perfect (well, as perfect as the Bose system can be) for a while, I'm assuming the fix did work, but now the relay has gone again?
Any suggestions on how to fix it?
-Is it just a case of replacing the relay again and being more careful about how loud I turn it up?
-Is there anything else to check?
-Is there a better fix? (A higher spec relay or something?)
Cheers

Same checks as for any other car, however, having just bought mine, the 2 problems I've got are:
1) The Bose sub cutting out / popping
2) 2nd and 6th gear are "crunchy" and grind a bit
Bose sub is an easy £3 fix which I'm currently waiting on a replacement part for so I can get it sorted.
2nd / 6th grinding I'm not too sure on, I read some stuff saying it's common, but I dunno how much of an issue it is.

Where's the fun in that. Embrace the challenge.
Besides, I think the clips on the front of the splash-guard are broken and I'm not sure how it's attached and if it will ever go back on once I take it off.
