    Z prices

I recently Sold my Zed this month, put it up for sale with stock touring wheels not many bites, but replaced them to Rays and the phone wouldn't stop ringing in the first week and sold it the following weekend! Personally I think the mods are very specific and might not be for anyone, baring in mind mine sold for 5300, 84k GT model.
  2. Hi does this come with the adapter to make steering wheel switched work. I'm interested would you take an offer?
  3. I used to, but only using premium now. Fuel level gauges under 1/4 is all over the place though!
  4. 27 mpg mix of urban and m-way. That DTE! always going up and when you're nearly empty since the fuel reading keeps going up and down depending on how hard you put your foot down! Anyone noticed any difference with MPG with premium fuel?
  5. Probably a really common question, has anyone experienced any issues running on regular fuel? Or is there a thread already on it? Thanks
  6. Hi just to check, is specifically for a Zed convert a stock tape/CD deck to a double DIN? If so I can pay for postage down to the Midlands. Thanks
  7. Hi, I've just been through the same experience over the last couple of months, bought a '54 Plate DE 75K miles in late July with regular servicing for the most part reliable and am happy Did lots of reading up on the forum and looked at about 4 examples I think the main things I specific car checks were: Burning oil! - On cold start none of them really smoked but some had loads of soot around the exhaust for a car that had been recently cleaned and lower oil levels when serviced within 5K miles elts say. Although wasn't definite proof seemed like some were drinking more oil than others. My friend called me paranoid but definitely could smell oil in the cabin at low speeds. Clutch health - my clutch started slipping after 100 miles got it done from the dealer thankfully as was within warranty. They all had high juddery snappy clutches around the 70K mark - OEM clutch and flywheel is around £600 fitted and supplied. one to factor in the price. Gearbox health - they were all a bit notchy and loud when shifting but when warm flowed through the gears well and no odd grinding or servo noises! That all changed when the dealer replaed clutch and must not have used genuine Nissan trans fluid, I did the oil change myself after seems to have cured. Other than those major things to look for some quirks I found were The rear wiper washer motors seemed to always not work, The boot didn't pop up because of the release springs and the 6 disc skips! Oh and the when you try to use a tape to 3.5mm auxiliary converter thingys the tape deck doesn't like it and spits it out! The bodies are magnets for stones and the chips! The underbody looked rusty but on closer inspection it was mostly the steel braces or pipes the body seem to be solid Most of the ones I saw has the bumpers off/resprayed might have been light accident damage but couldn't see any evidence although interiors plastics make it hard to see however. I don't think they can quite get the bumper on right again but no biggy This video was good Also found that a lot of dealers do their own MOTs where some advisories or issues from last year or few months before magically disappear with no receipts or proof of work when checking against the MOT history checker!! Otherwise some odd cabin rattles or suspension noise is common but hasn't presented any issues. Sorry for the long post, but you now know as much as me from a month or so of ownership... good luck buddy!
  8. Agreed all good fun if it's for free lol! The main thing with the learning scheme is we have to prove its some kind of valid training! The Walshy stuff looks good because it's you own car, but I don't want to do that to my own car, rather it be someone else's Thanks Kraziekatz1, where are you doing it out of interest?
  9. Hi all, Any of you have been on Skid pan/car control courses? I get around £200 a year to spend on "training courses" with work. One of the suggestions was an Intensive skid course at Castle Coombe. Sounded like a good idea for a new Zed owner ahead of winter http://drivetechltd....ve-skid-course/ Anyone had any experiences with them or courses of that nature? It looks biased towards safety rather than a cool drift school but looks fun enough!
  10. Interesting to know cheers. What kind of symptoms did you get out of interest?? Haven't been able to get under the car again will give it a try.
  11. Didn't think it was the thrust bearing as could make it come on and disengage the clutch and it's still making a sound lol. Showed a few car guys from work who can't quite place it either done about 400 miles since and only developed the noises 20 miles ago. Very strange! I don't think its something car threatening so will get to the bottom of it eventually. Cheers
  12. Hi all quick update had it checked over predictably they didn't find an issue. Although is quite intermittent which doesn't help! Transmission oil swapped out with Motul motylgear. Now developed a weird humming for about a minute on cold mornings with throttle only! Then the gearbox sound from about 1.07 onwards on vid below. Next steps get the rusted fixings out and get the undershield back on, make sure there are no flappy heatshields. Then get it checked out on the P3 service from a specialist as suggested, cheers.
  13. Thanks for the advice I'm only about half an hour away from cougar store Leicester. They suggested to take it back under warranty to check the work/transmission etc, as messing about with it might void it so a bit of risk. Spoke to the dealer they want me to use a transporter about £150 or so. No point until next week now. If I were to do a cheeky oil change to in case of a quick fix and save the hassle what have you guys used. Local Nissan dealer hasn't got any in stock lol! He did mention it was XZ85 whatever that is?!
  14. Thanks for the quick reply! No doesn’t change when in neutral pipes up on overrun and doesn’t stop until the stationary, but changes tone when shifting. I have phoned them they mentioned the oil level was fine and the bearings can’t go that quickly but didn’t say if they had replaced it. I can look into getting the Trans oil replaced as was due a P3 service. Maybe adding something like molyslip? Not overjoyed with the work as they broke a few rusty fixings that are still in the frame from the mid undertray and left it flapping about for my journey home. Which had have worn away the tray so can’t even screw it in again!!
  15. Hi all, new to the Z scene, been about 2 weeks with my 2004 GT 75K miles. Bought with an extremely high clutch which started to slip and got the clutch changed under warranty putting in some money towards the DMF. However a few days ago noticed a high pitch whine around the transmission when acclerationg from 2nd slowly getting worse going down the gears. Have been through some of the threads and nothing sounds the same just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue. Or if the gearbox is toast, sounds like a dodgy bearing! As it's quite a way to the dealer I got it from and might get it transported. Got a few vids of the sound if it helps. Thanks
