Both pairs I bought were on the forum and I think I saw one of them because they were on FB as well.

I wouldn't mind a spare set, as currently we share a set of Rays as our spare wheels, mainly due to availability of tyres we like (MPS4Ss), so have had issues when we've had unrepairable punctures and have had to run different front and rears.

So if you're interested in a trade for some rays or a cash sale (i'd sell the rays if you're not interested in a spare set), please let me know.

Just seen this thread as I am most likely going to keep my 2018 Nismo Mk2 rather than upgrade or get a hothatch. Toying with the idea of swapping the Mk2 Nismo Rims with Mk1 Nismo Rims. Therefore potentially looking to sell my Mk2s. 17000 miles on the car. 1 is pristine and other 3 very good. Will upload photos if anyone interested. Sim drop us a DM and we can have a chat

  2. Don't know why anyone hasn't posted yet their feedback but there is a lot to like about the design. Good balance of not being too understated and not too try hard  (stinger, BMW 8etc) like the rims on the grey car must say.

Side note I saw a black RSQ8 today and it does actually look better then the Urus.

  3. Whereabouts in Berks?

I have a 2018 Mk2 (so cosmetic enhancements like the darkenend door handles and rear lights).

Side note: You thought about upgrading the rims on your car to give it a different look instead? Reason asking is that I have decided to most likely do this and probably going to purchase Mk1 rims (conditional to selling my Mk2 rims). I had a look at alternate cars and the step up is too expensive to justify and hot hatches do not really appeal to me given as I think you pay alot for essentially a non-bespoke (everyday) bodystyle (obvious exception Yaris GR)

The GT looks very toned down in comparison. Its probably a lot more comfortable than a Nismo

Since the "fanged" pre-facelift, I think the Nismo Mk2 is the only variant that "solves" the gaping rectangular  front end that even the 350z had tbh.

Although the inspiration may have come from this!

  5. Managed to get a photo showing the visual (minor) differences within the Mk2 Nismo from 2018 if anyone is interested. As you know the mechanicals were upgraded to the Exedy clutch etc

The rear lights and door handles were darkened from 2018

  6. Front doesnt look as bad as I thought upon closer inspection.

Quad exhausts would have really suited this car esp with that ;large rear gloss black diffuser

Still think the Nismo Mk2 pips this in the looks dept.

Interior: are those seats manually adjustable only like the Nismo?

    Needs a more aggressive diffuser.

Yes agree its too plain front and rear - perhaps saving this for the Nismo?

This could have been the 370z and the 370z been the Z Proto from the exterior. This looks like a step back less modern (more retro)

  8. Interesting topic, thought I'd chime in as I test drove 2 370z over the lifecycle before I went for the Mk2 Nismo in 2018. First one was a pre-facelift GT, second was a facelift GT and obviously the last was the Nismo Mk2.

CONS of getting a Mk2 Nismo

Not necessarily the best bang for your buck but depends really on the perspective you're looking at it really (see below). IMO getting a GT and adding a bodykit still doesnt resolve the issue that the standard 370z has a poor interior. When I test drove the GT cars I didnt mind as it was in the 2010s but by late 2017 they really looked dated hence another reason why I went for the Mk2 Nismo. You will also get that issue with the Mk1 Nismo. I know you don't buy a 370z for its interior but when you're paying that amount of money you want something that at least exceeds VW, Seat and the Korean, US brands. The Mk2 does that although falls shorts of the Germans.

The quality of the leather on the seats isnt the best; Despite the seat being super comfy the leather shows sign of wear. I reg clean mine and am not a big guy yet still the leather does not  age well compared to Benz, Audi leather

Similarly upkeep of the recaro elements notably the steering wheel

PROS of getting the Mk2 Nismo (mainly visual)

Looks v modern from the outside. The casual observer thinks its a new car. Put it this way makes the current TTRS look like nothing special. Specifically the tinted front lights contrasts really well to Storm White. The front and rear bumpers match each other. Red accents really blend in well. It's just so visually appealing to the eye (based on feedback from others past 3 years) that I can only think of the Alfa 4C in Pearl White with the teledial wheels and exposed headlights offering more from an eye candy perspective at that price range. It's a bit like the difference between the Evora when it came out and the Evora 400 but the difference is more

Tbh I cant recall the feel of the standard 370z since I test drove many years before I got the Mk2 Nismo. I do recall the steering being lighter. They were both Autos however. I prefer the look of the pre facelift with its fangs over the GT facelift

  9. funnily enough this was on my radar as a practical side step (or slight downgrade) to the 370z Nismo Mk2

I would be looking at the R facelifted however as they are still expensive for a scirocco but £10k off list.

I did discover that the Green facelifted Rs do not stay on the market for long at all and sell quickly compared to white, grey etc - prob due to supply/demand. I wonder in what year they stopped making the factlift in green

My mate had an R and loved it. More nippy then a 370z esp on UK roads.

I think a few years ago they still had that headturn factor but now not so much. Add that its an old platform I think the smarter move would be to get a 2 door Golf

I think petrol cars will retain their value and still be an option for the public, car enthusiasts and anti ev brigade.

If by then synthetic or alternative fuel is an option the may offer that as hybrid alternative with companies offering conversion to alternative fuel and alcohol could be a possibility. It depends on what BP, Shell, Esso and co want to offer. They have tried with LPG

Also new cars sold between 2028 - 2030 if they could be made cheaper than EV in general there could be a jump in sales flooding the market with the last ICE vehicles.

The government would probably want to ban importation of pure ICE cars.

I think we are already in the first phase of the exodus of brands (Subaru, Infiniti, Mitsubishi etc)  and enthusiast models being canned (4c, Z) so the only issue is that if this trend continues then by late 2020s there wont be much new stock to choose from that would appeal to people like us.

I remember several years ago when there were a couple of LFAs and 8Cs on autotrader hella expensive but now they are only going up in value

Are they £25k already?? That's a drop already? If the range was double and the start price £20k it would be the most common EV around?

The question then is by 2030 will people perceive petrol cars as something to hold onto or invest purely in EV?

Probably in 10 years time the Lexus LC500 might be affordable never mind the zed

The 5.0 is def holding its value more then the hybrids I have been keeping an eye from a while. The initial plummet seems to have slowed and its holding value bit better now the 5.0 that is. Seems like the hybrid will be first to enter the sub £40k mark

  12. New colour spotted. looks good must admit. Glad the red accents are q bold - more Nismo then GTI.

Come May let's see what Hyundai reveal re pricing and options

I actually think the design on this i20n is better then the i30n (hatch/fastback) as its more coherent - it's angular from all sides whereas the i20n has a blend of creases and soft curves (sharp headlights, angular grille contrasted with softer intakes and a rear that's a bit messy) so is a mixed package of sorts and slightly less consistent

I have actually seen that colour in the flesh it's more the greener end of the fizzy dissolving vitamin tabs scale. Somehow it works for the E. :D

Yes I have seen 2 now - one in blue from a distance whilst driving which looked nice and dark grey parked which didnt really stand out. Both in inner London.  Maybe they have some good PCP deals who knows. I am not sure how long the quirky factor will last. Although the 500 milked that for almost ten years!

  14. Apologies to take this thread off on a slight tangent but can you imagine someone over here importing the new Z in yellow and then getting this as their run around? Imagine what the neighbours would think seeing these on the driveway alongside one another !

  15. If that Katana blade piece was the same colour as the rims then it would like q classy - understated yet different

Was having a browse of the F types and it in silver really had an impact on me. I think this still has that F type vibe to it

  16. Def starting to like the look of it from side profile even in yellow - it works!

From the back the contrast paint / lower black gloss diffusor looks a bit "forced" - might work better in a silver. Also note the rear recess for numberplate is US design only unlike the 370z - that should tell us a thing? Might look epic with quad exhausts come to think it

Obviously front end isn't the cars best point

  17. In a similar situation with my Mk2 370z Nismo

Ends in March Balloon around £18k. New tyres £1k but its worth £22/23k so may go by the end of year in which case a replacement is needed

Depends on personal situation & responsibilities if things change then a more practical daily that's narrower would do the trick - I30n fastback or the new i20n depending on its price. Both in baby blue lol Golf has been a disaster. Another option is the Megane RS Trophy depending on whats on the used market

If not then will prob keep but I too am in a situation eyeing up performance bargains of the near future that people will be getting rid of due to  ongoing situation:

i8, F types have lost that wow factor imo

    Benz AMG GT looks tempting

Corvette C7 should drop to sub £40k mark by end of year

Lexus LC500 are now holding their value a bit more but expect the facelifted RCF to plummet. Theres a few track editions on the market that will drop eventually

Mustang - Tempted to go for one these myself in one. The green appeals to me think its a facelifted colour option. I can see sales slowing down

Alfa Guila Quadrafolio - already discarded this due to horror stories re reliability

The chrome on the roof line is supposed to be a Katana blade representation. So that will be a different colour on certain colour choices.

Yes I think they got a bit too clever for themselves and carried away with these little retro subtleties that the car has. I think the 370z has a far more in your face look to it with signature features like the bommerang lights (love or hate them), two tone accents (Nismo) and the muscular rear fenders/wheel arches. Its a 370z and there isnt another car like it really although I get the older Porsche 911 comparisons .

Americans tend to do alot of aftermarket stuff typically spoilers but at the moment the front end seems to be the first point of modification for many

If it were me (it isn't) I would be spending the money on a used R35 rather than sink cash into one of these. I personally don't like it. Looks too rounded at the back (too much like a Jag/Aston) and they are trying to use some of the old 240z lines on the rear quarter with the round badge as well which for me just doesn't work. Having owned a mark two Nismo myself I would say the current Nismo is better looking. Only my opinion though of course. For me its lost its identity from all the other cars out there which Is a shame. Currently IMHO there is no other car that compares in looks to the 350/370 but this car doesn't look stand out to me.

I agree with this 90% esp re the Mk2 Nismo 370z in Storm White especially

I think they very nearly pulled it off though. Basically looks like they got a 370z, simplified the body back to an early 370z prototype and then kept added retro cues. If you think of the Supra and Type R being the anti-thesis of "less is more", the Z-Proto has gone the other direction to the point that it has become "less is less" and appears to be a generic design

Very nearly pulled it off in the sense that there are Z throwbacks but like many people have noticed it has a bit of F type to it, Aston and just now I noticed a bit of E63 6 series to the front headlights when they are switched off.
