  1. Any touchscreen stereo recommendations guys? Any features to definitely look out for? Any to avoid?
  2. LOL! Take's the edge of... Sadly I cracked it myself squeezing the visor trying to stop a vibration hum (between the visor and the head cloth). Seemed to fix the noise ok, but... yeah.
  3. Sorry. You're absolutely right. I should've mentioned that. This is for the later models (2006 - 2008) that have the silver heater knobs, oval hazard warning light button etc. Not the earlier ones with the black knobs and square hazard warning light button. You can tell by the handle. The one for the earlier models has a push button instead.
  4. Ok. Not strictly 'Bodywork' as such, but... I need some advice with decals. My 350Z has an 'S-Tune' style Nismo bonnet decal fitted (as well as quite a few other OEM upgrades), either as a limited run by the factory or as an aftermarket addition by a previous owner. But as you can see from the picture, the S is now chipped and the O is badly faded. I want to replace this with a shiny new decal. The problem seems to be sourcing one... The one currently fitted is exactly 156 x 15mm. I was able to get a reproduction one on ebay that is 150 x 15mm, but 6mm is enough when you line up the N that the O is clearly a good bit off. There are also genuine Nismo decals available on ebay: "Genuine Nissan White Medium Nismo Sticker Decal" (most of which come stamped with the part number number '999G1-SR002WT'). The exact size is a little bit of guess-work depending on the seller, but they are listed as: 6" x 7/8", 6" x 0.75", 6 1/8 " x 1", 6" x 0.7". Either way, they certainly seem to be at least in the ball park for size, but again are a bit short (6" = 152.4mm), and these actually look to be a bit too tall also (0.7" = 17.8mm). I suppose my two main options are to just get hold of a genuine one and T-Cut the residue of the current one off completely before carefully fitting; or alternately get a local decal specialist to custom make me an exact replica of mine. Does anybody have any thoughts?
  5. When I bought my '07 350Z GT it came fitted with a Sony WX-GT90BT head unit - see below (along with the original Bose head unit in a box, should I wish to switch back). I can see why the previous owner choose the WX-GT90BT. It is a high quality unit which features a CD player, FM/MW/LW tuner, Bluetooth audio streaming and phone call integration, an Aux input, and a USB port. It also integrates amazingly well with the look of the car's interior. The LCD screen can be switched between 12 colours (and several multi-coloured variations thereof), with 'Amber' matching almost perfectly with the dashboard display. And as a very nice finishing touch, the black plastic at the bottom of the unit almost mirrors the dark grey dimpled plastic finish of the 350Z centre console itself. But... I can't help thinking I'm missing a trick (given that the 350Z has a double din stereo slot) by not having some kind of all-singing all-dancing touch screen unit. I'm not even fully up-to-speed on what my options are and what is out there. Presumably some kind of touch screen, dvd-playing, sat-nav device with apps and the like? I wouldn't want to give up any of the functionality I currently have (Bluetooth, USB, Aux input, etc) if it can be avoided. But essentially I'm looking for some advice and recommendations from people who have been there and done that. Is some type of modern head unit the last piece of the puzzle for my Zed interior, and if so are there any restrictions that I should be aware of? Or am I crazy to even be talking about switching out a unit that already has so many plus points..?
  6. I have a single Falken Azenis FK453 tyre for sale. Size: 275/35Z R19 The tyre is in good condition and still has 4mm/5mm of tread depth remaining. £50 (not including any delivery costs). Collection preferable (Belfast, N.Ireland based) but can attempt to post if required.
  7. Really? LOL. That's good to know. I'm selling my original one here, in case anybody is looking one:
  8. Selling a full centre console cubby unit for a 350Z. The official name for the item is an Instrument Panel Cluster Lid (P/N 68250-CF45A) As you can see, the door fascia has some minor marks, as does the handle - however the handle can be easily removed and resprayed if desired. Selling for £55 which includes free delivery within the UK.
  9. So the resolve for this was to just ignore the Bluetooth Adapter all together (not 'pair' to it) and just sort out the microphone situation with the Sony stereo (which it turns out had just been shoved in behind the stereo head unit by the previous owner) and run it up inside the trim of the driver-side A-pillar. This means that the cars in-built microphone (behind rear view mirror) is not being used and the buttons on the steering wheel do not function as these both work with the Bluetooth Adapter. But I can now make and receive calls (using the interface on the stereo), which is the main thing I suppose. Apparently by adding something called a 'unika box' I could possibly get the two steering wheel buttons working with the stereo, but it sounds like a bit of a dodgy fix so am inclined to leave it... If anyone knows anything about these (or an alternative) though, please let me know.
  10. For the benefit of any one else with a marked Instrument Panel Cluster Lid in their centre console reading this at a later date, in the end, after unsuccessfully trying breakers yards for a few weeks I just bit the bullet and ordered a brand new one from Charles Hurst Nissan for £105.68 + VAT. Probably not the best value for money I've spent on the car, but it does look the part and has brought the interior of the car back to like new. So in that sense I certainly don't regret it.
