So on the 350z Miltek the tail pipes have resonators/silencers in them. The resonator is basically a smaller diameter pipe with perforation s and sound deadening in. It gives a conical look to the tailpipe which I didn't really like and when one started buzzing they had to go.
Removing them makes the oulet look like this
Hope this makes sense.
I thought they looked better. Made no difference to the noise except for the removal of the annoying buzzing.
Was it just a matter of chopping it up from inside the pipe and removing it in pieces? Was it actually welded or glued in or just in place?
im not a fan look of the internals
either lol.

Been trying to be more intentional recently about getting the zed out for drives. So last sunday night I txt'd a friend with his R35 to see if he wanted to head out on a short run/hot chocolate trip lol.
just short blast over to Bangor Northern Ireland and back, few hilarious (on my part, that GTR is like a space shuttle taking off) carriageway pulls together and decent hot chocolate from red berry.
few little snaps from the other night. It also helped make my mind up on the exhaust, I'd been really close to pulling trigger on an Agency Power Single exit and run decats and Y pipe etc for full fat VQ Asbo goodness but Ive realised that with my current setup there is a nice balance of induction/engine and exhaust and I can slink about if needed, without being all shouty. (may still by cheap ISR blast pipes at some point just for banter)Few Snaps

Agreed matches the GT but still fun when you want it to be without causing headaches after a long day!
Can I ask how/ who removed the resonators in the end can?

Again class! I was chatting on RMS about this car with you. Lovely!! Had in my head you where in Northern Ireland lol. Should be handy to sort it with parts if you are living out in Japan

Weather here in NI has been terrible recently. But was out with work recently and took advantage of a storm and tree lights lol.
currently looking at options on hydro dipping interior pieces to modernise the look and then dye the headliner.

@da.murf thank you for posting this
no bother at all.
zero drone, just bit more grunty at low rpm and nice loud rip on wot
proper GT exhaust set up in my opinion.
but I still occasionally find myself looking at a tomei single exit with decats lol

Thanks for the link, another thing added to the continuing list of things I want but don't actually need.
plans are to start to look at interior to smarten up with long term aim of bride/recaro buckets with a dipped interior.
thoughts, experiences and opinions welcome as always

For my old GTi had a XTD flywheel from the US, still have the OE one on my 350z.
Sorry meant to ask what pulley you went for on the zed lol

I know what you mean. I had a lightweight crank pulley on my Almera GTi along with lightened flywheel for years and never had an issue. You of course hear about what can happen when removing the OE dampened steel pulley, however I very much doubt the SR20DE was engineered better than the VQ35DE. Inherently a V6 better balanced internally than a in line 4 too.
No negatives so far, only driven it once for a couple hours - wished I had fitted it sooner but it's on now.
That really cool, It's nice to see. Above modded cars and even cleaning cars that's my no.1 interest so can appreciate that.
What flywheel you go for? Have you a link ?

Nice side by side video, shows the difference straight away.
Liking your other much earlier uploads too, all praise to Yeshua.
yeah hard to do a driving video but it’s more noticeable on WOT etc and makes Rev-marching slightly easier I find. You got me seriously considering the pulley now lol. I come from a motorbike and Honda background so love free reving stuff. You notice any negatives?
lol they where going back 13yrs. Little project for a church I worked for then. Still hoping one of them to hit the million views mark lol!

Thanks guys.
biggest difference so far has been the xtreme uprated clutch and lightweight flywheel.
here is a side by side video comparison

Been looking at this myself. Was it a big job to fit ? Did you follow a guide ??

so bit of an update, last few months have been busy for the zed, as above the lmgt4's where fitted but then I bit the bullet and decided to do something I'd really wanted to do for a long time, smoothed front bumper with no plate and nice rocket bunny style spoiler.
photos of the finished look.
I then added a cheeky alcantara retrimmed Royal Steering Wheel
So the updated spec is
2006 350GT in Universal Silver
64250 miles
19'' LMGT4 staggered wheels
30mm Eibach springs
5mm spacers front and rear
LED side lights and rear light upgrades
Alcantara Steering Wheel
Fully smoothed and de-plated front bumper
Mines Style Front Splitter
Tarmac Sportz side skirt extensions
Milltek Exhaust
Stillen Y Pipe
JanSpeed Decats
PopCharger Intake
Tarmac Sports Ducktail revetless spoiler
Homemade colour coded de-wiper kit
Zunsport front grill replace
Removed weight from boot (just why nissan??)
Smoked side tints and heavy smoked rear glass
Pioneer Double Din digital Headunit
Mintec Dimpled and Groove discs & Brembo high performance break pads
HEL Orange braided brake lines front and rear
polybushed front and rear arb bushes
HEL Braided clutch line
Upgraded Clutch Slave cylinder
Xtreme Upgraded Clutch Kit and Lightweight Single Mass Flywheel
350z-Forum Burnout and tcs module
WhiteLine Upgraded W Brace
New OEM Nissan Kidney Brackets
Very happy with visually how it looks now, plan is to tidy/touch up some of the small marked areas in the interior and then long term look at a set of bucket seats.
Thanks for looking.

Will do, particularly when I'm back in the UK. These things are tough to find in good condition - makes me worried about using them!

Best to go back to whoever supplied the clutch kit and also the garage that fitted it.
Under the circumstances, that is the only way for an informed diagnoses and hopefully a free fix.
yeah garage is taking it back Thursday, and I’d be 100% confident in the mechanics ability as he is a good friend and really took his time and care on itIve touched base with supplier to let them know im having issues and it’s being investigated.
im so hoping it’s just a faulty bearing or faulty slave cylinder.

Sounds like blockage/debris in the clutch line to me, first thing I'd do is a flush, and if you replace them, replace both cylinders.
But less than 6 months after full flush and, new lines and slave cylinder ?

It’s a DE Rev Up.
pedal feel is there but, would a failed
slave cylinder on lose the pedal??

Hi Everyone, In a complete pickle here!!
In march I installed a new xtreme clutch/lightweight flywheel, koyo release bearing/oem slave cylinder and braided clutch line to my 350z.
it has done 2500 miles since then, all the miles have been relatively easy to run everything in etc.
Car was going great until saturday.
On way home gear change started to get a bit 'resistant' it was getting tough to push it into each gear. And then at a stop it became impossible.
Clutch in, and nope not accepting the gear. No grind etc etc.
Car was sitting still, no handbrake etc
car was def noisier pulling away just before it became impossible to drive.
Then weirdest part was when the car was at standstill, clutch in, when it wouldn't go into gear, but as I tried to push it into first, the clutch still in, the car began to start to creep forward.
turned car off. got the gear shift into first with clutch in, when to start and the car bumped forward on the starter motor with the clutch in.
Then when I put car back into 'neutral' and switched off engine, released the clutch, something seemed to free up, and i could deject gears etc ok again and car was 'drivable'
Clutch pedal was very stiff though and also small clunk 1/2 way up pedal travel.
It's off to mechanic this thursday to drop the gearbox to inspect the release bearing, clutch and flywheel etc etc.
BUT has anyone come across this or something like it before and shed some thoughts or light???
I fear it's inside the gearbox, but as mentioned it was driving and selecting gears ok after something free'd up again.
Any help, thoughts or experiences welcome.
Thanks
