  1. Nice my mate has had one for the last year and hes had these done lol, only changed brake pads so far and serviced.

All I can say is beast beast beast, Thing is insane. More than 5k on mods but transformed the car

    Sorry to hijack the thread

Car is 5 star, you will enjoy

  2. Why don't you source a good used replacement

Because a good replacement is well over a grand, some even advertised at £2k and then there's no guarantee what your buying is going to be any good, and you just end up in the same boat.

CD009's are rarer than chicken teeth and if you can find one then again it's stupid money.

At least with a rebuild with new parts I'll know it'll be good to go and currently coming in at under £700

Ive been to a factory where they rebuild the VW/Audi ones, its like a work of art, dont nissan aftermarket have something similar in UK? I.e bring yours in and take away theirs?

    Makes sense rebuilding it yourself!

  3. Are you looking for a lamborghini? 7k should find plenty of these cars, GT versions included.....something got to give, either mileage or number of owners or colour, service history, unless youre willing to spend more...7k would have got you a nice 50k miles black/white 2005 GT on ebay when i was looking,

I even saw a couple of closely priced 2006 and 2007 HR ones for sale non GT. As if pre 2005 were more in demand that they were costing as much as some 2006 2007 HR models.

  4. yeah mine had fresh tyres new alloys full history but many owners lol, 3 from same family, i purchased of 40 year old guy who got it off a 50 year old guy, lipped disc and pads need changing in front, grooved disc were 119 quid and pads were 29 quid, gona get them fitted with a guy ive been going to for 7 years only for £30 quid prolly tip him another 15 on top, part of my tab! Well you cant have everything eh, something has to give.

This one has 83k miles, all fun so far

speaking of gearbox, its not a supple one like the civic 56 plate, but its fine for now

Exhaust is nice, burbles and crackles, then pops at the limiter.. lol

I come into my area in neutral, lol

  5. Lol, waiting game and keeping eyes peeled, if you are looking for a stock one im sure youll find one with a good mileage, good history, finding one with less than 3 4 owners for the price you are looking for is tough.

The usual places this forum, autotrader, ebay, gumtree....piston heads.....

I didndt want to pay 6k for an 04 tbh

What year are you looking for? 2005 GT 70k? They go for 7k dont they?

Saying that I did want a Type R, possibly next car, ill see, I like the Ep3 and FN2

  6. this is a popular car in the states with young guys and girls lol not suprised, will search it up lol, theres an episode where one of the animal characters backchats about the boy and he rolls by in a ferrari, classic :D

  7. yep had similar in a previous Ford, You rev but the car isnt moving to those revs, Another test is the third gear test, apparently if it judders then stalls, youre done, if its moves slightly and you can get momentum to get the car moving then you still have life left, as said above, Im assuming mine is very worn but I can get it moving in third and its not slipping yet, 83k miles, i do get a smell under heavy load, if I floor it and hit high revs lol, mine is half way, no slipping yet,

It can probably go for a while yet unless I constantly boot it everywhere,

  8. It comes with the territory of owning a quick car, and while there are fast cars on the road it will never change.

in 2016 im not sure this car is considered quick lol, when there are 500-1000 hp cars on the road, it does fly though coming from a civic :D

  9. All nonsense to me, was out this saturday, and had 4 guys in a BMW coupe on my case from the turn, driving like idiots tailgating, It was a long straight, they tailgated me then tried to go round me i was already in 4th gear, I floored it. I was approaching a traffic light and some guy was pulling out and saw the bmw on the wrong side of the road and stopped. I was already back on legal limit, so i wasnt coming in fast, It was a red light going green, I scooted out the way so they could get lost.

At first they hesitated, but I waited and didnt move and they went their own way putting on his hazard light, not sure what for as I already thought he was a ****,

The only reason I pulled over is it was getting out of hand, and police wont see him they will only see me, plus someone steps in the road its over. The fact that someone pulling out a side road had to halt to see what the idiots would do next.

I get it all the time. But how much petrol are you going to burn leaving idiots behind.....it gets tiresome.

Some one tailgates you and then tries to go around and your response is to floor it? In 4th so presumably to well above the legal limit, and then you have to slow down to the legal limit because there are other road users about who are obviously being put in danger!

You describe him as a ****, and driving like an idiot.

I wonder how would you describe your driving on this occasion then?.......

id describe it as minding my own business driving in a straight line

  10. Went to view a few zeds he had in stock around early feb. Initially looked at a 56 in black and a 57 in black. They were burried in the back of his parking lot so ended up test driving the matte blue one he still has for sale and it was a complete dog. He'd just put a new mot on it but had a terrible knock coming from the front right so no way that should have passed. He wanted strong money for what they were but then again what dealer doesn't and tbf the blue dog was obviously to clear.

Was a bit of a forza garage down there as he had all models of skylines, evo's, scoobies, c63, m3's, frs etc

I know the area well and it was a bugger for me to find. The photo's for the ads are taken on an industrial estate around 3 miles away and his lot is tucked right at the back of some houses with some other small lock up type units.

Which one have you got your eye on?

the matt blue one has been for sale for a long long time. I wonder why thats still there lol, that knock might just be the bushes, roll bar or drop links, could be wheel bearing who knows. Either way a couple of hundreds to fix, he had a black 2004 going for 5900 but i felt was slightly above my budget and mileage is high

  12. For me it's the best combination of HP/£ AND motorway-ready response, comfort for day-to-day but still perfectly capable in winding roads.

You can get more powerful or faster cars, cars that'll go round corners quicker, and cars that keep up with it that are more 'sensible', but none of them are as reliable, cheap to buy, cheap to run (relative, of course), attractive (IMO), and can eat up the mileage in such comfort as the 350z.

S2000? Too revvy and costs more for an equivalent age and mileage. Subaru STi? Have you sat in one for 80 miles a day? Also more expensive for equivalent age and mileage. BMW anything? Have fun when that inevitably goes wrong (because all cars have their moments).

Most people who slag my car off haven't driven one, are jealous, or are just being dicks. It's not to some people's tastes and that's different, the Clio 182 sport belonging to my friend is absolutely not to my taste, but I don't hate on it because he loves it and it's perfect for him haha.

omg this guy had a 182 too, clocked 60,000 was in immaculate condition when sold last year. I did drive it driving position was van like. Set up was nice and drove and handled well. But it must have been inn the dealer a fair few times. Car wasnt really pushed it was literally babied around. Yea when I was younger it was the choice car and suprised a few mk 4 gti boys but then the Type R came and I didnt hear much about it anymore. Good for him, not to my tastes. va va voom.

  13. Haters are either dumb or jelous folks - period

he wasnt a fan of the GTR either knocked the cheapish interior, most of the people criticizing know zilch about cars. Hes got a diesel lump Heavy weighing in at 1805 KG only driven sporadically here and there, lets not debate handling. 300-400 ft lb of torque with 7 gears needed to push the lump , The superiority complex kicked in really fast. I deleted all social media a while back and tbh only my younger brother and best mate know I have it lol.

  14. I like the handling on my zed. It depends what you want I guess - it's never going to handle like an Ariel Atom, but then that's not the idea.

What specific handling traits were being criticised?

loool, the back end and keeping it on the road. He compared to a GT2 Porsche which he reckoned handled better despite the heavy rear end.
