Just out of curiousity how much did it cost for you to sort out the arch rust? Is it your daily? I found a few for sale in my area but one of them has a underside corrosion ont he MOT and the other its not shown on the MOT reports. Both are DE models too. THey're going for ~ £5k.

I've been in an S3 and they do feel plenty quick, but I've also been in a 1.8 BAM is something different.

This was a while back years ago. I didn't go through with it as the body shop was more interested in insurance jobs.... I'm assuming it was going to be couple hundreds for arches. Nowadays it's more. They cut it and weld new metal apply filler and spray. Underside is doable and will also cost a few hundred. I'd budget just about a grand to fix both. Then shop around.

    It's doable.

  2. Get a DE 2003-2005...like i did Less road tax and plenty low down torque. Cheaper on Insurance too. Only issue i had was starter motor and arch rust.

Or you can go for the 370Z 2012 on wards. No issues with reliability as such over 2 years.

Ideally best to have a drive of a few different cars and see which you like. For context a 5dr DSG mk7 Golf R is 1575kg. 350z is 1545kg and don't often here folks call the golf a 'heavy car'.

    Enjoy the car hunting 😁

Just "hot hatch". Turbos are deceiving....It feels nimble. Its all the computing and Turbo boosting being done.

  3. I added a few can dream cars on there. Can't believe the 4 banger Emira will cost around the same as the V6. Lol...

    Nissan Z - £866

    Porsche Cayman 981 S - £900

    Cayman S 718 - £950

    GTR - £1000

    Alpine A110 - £1117

    Cayman GTS - £1400

    Lotus Emira - £1500

    GTR Facelift - £2200

    F Type V8 - £2300

😳 that's some high price's I am only paying £400 for my Nismo

I live in a high risk area where cars and catalysts get stolen like Hyundais, Ranges, Priuses and Golfs. Fortunately no one's looking at the JDMs unless they're R3* or Supras 💀

Accidents are common too. Traveller gangs. They catch them send them to the hotel for 6 years then the gang leader replaces them with new members...all the way from north London to Hampshire it's the same gang...also near A40/M40........BBC documentary said it's an endless cycle.

  5. Lol £2300 for insurance on F type. When I paid £900 on the Z. It's falling under JLR Range Rover. One of the most stolen in London. Z is still around same price so are Caymans except GTS and above lol.

Old GTRs are also coming up the similar to Cayman S and cheaper the 718 GTS.

    Nissan Z - £866

    Porsche Cayman 981 S - £900

    Cayman S 718 - £950

    GTR - £1000

    Cayman GTS - £1400

    F Type V8 - £2300

15 years license 14 years no claims no points...38 yo based on London. It is what it is. GTR usually fit in group 50 insurance but 50 has a lot of sub categories. Only thing I can think of is JLR thefts and value combined..

  6. Ive got one where are you located. I bought it from Lithuania. I haven't tested it and not used it as found out it was just a battery issue. It's taken from another car but should allow the car to start to remove the fuse if you wish.

  7. Yeah I'd have got the base and modded that then maybe get the Nismo when it was 3 years old. Auto is fine as the gig economy riders, average speed cameras make driving a manual in built up areas tedious.

We also have lots of uber drivers in priuses and 20mph zones. I remember the frustration with nismo just to get out of the area to decent roads you'd have been leveling the clutch for 30 mins in traffic... Maybe one day I'll get another. Done with Nissan for now.

  9. Speaking of preferences 😉

@The Bounty Bar KidJessica Lawrence nah once you've seen it, you've seen it all.

Now since the 370Z is a poor man's 599. How about an actual 599 converted to gaited manual. "Gimme me numbers". 😎. Apparently they were available to order in manual but people mostly ordered flappy paddles. Only 30 or so were bought and all GTBs apparently. Manual command 5 times the price. Can be converted and sold at profit...

Anywho back to my financial lane!

  10. Yeah that's nice, as soon as it landed I'd swap out that steering wheel for the sport one and add some minimal ambient lighting.

I think these 991 gen have bottomed out in the 40s for now. Looks like it's missing the exhaust button. On the Caymans it's just pops and bangs and a tiny bit more volume. I couldn't tell the difference aside from that.

  11. 993 turbo or carrera. I just looked and looks like the classic porsche from the 90s. Not many turbos for sale and it was a Gemballa

I'd be happy with Carrera NA or newer Carrera with the 3.0 As far as I know unless it's the early 2000s turbo s which are 60k plus the rest are 90 to 120k and new gens were 160k but now the latest are over 200k. Lol

Cayman and Z are similar bar the weight. So it might be a sideways step for most on here. Handling wise superior 1300 to 1400kg..911 can offer the power but not the same balance and handling. Suppose can't go wrong. 911 is 911....

Porsche host track days at their leisure. Just need to pay and spend a couple of hours there.

    Personally I would prefer a 991 4s

My brother had the 2015 991 911 RWD carrera. All buttons well optioned very shouty. Acceleration is underrated.... Was £78k at the time the car was 2 years old. They're 40 to 65 now. Servicing cost him £1000 a pop. Skoda wrote it off... Nice cars but not on the cheap side.

I suppose there's more urgency now to try diff cars with incoming restrictions lol.
