  5. it is rather noisey I think in way of a maintenance & performance mod I may well invest in a walbro cheers for the help guys
  6. thanks for fast response that makes sense but even though its controlled by the ecu wouldn't a old pump that's not in prime condition have some bearing on overall performance especially as its pressures may change when tuning even if only minor amounts ?
  7. hi Ive tuned many turbo/na cars over the years and as a part of that has normally always started with replacing a 10+ year old fuel pump as once tuning begins they can tend to underperform or fail completely etc etc, anyway this doesn't appear to be common practice for 350z's I wondered if there is any real reason why this doesn't happen ?, as common sense is telling me to replace my 14 year old fuel pump before I go much further with my build. I'm lead to believe it isn't the easiest job in the world but is this the only reason ? any advice welcomed guys
  8. ok got headunit to work again (found a third fuse box) but still no sound my guess is amp has a fuse that has also gone but have no idea where as everything is in Japanese
  9. right I ordered a new ISO using part number supplied in above link above also copied exact wiring as link above and still absolutely nothing happens.. I'm almost convinced its a fuse or several but cant find them also tried what u suggested above and still nothing happens very very strange
  10. something else weird I have a parrot handsfree system but it doesn't appear to plug in anywhere on the stereo loom and is still fully functioning through the speakers ??
  11. yeah my headunit has bose written on it... but as it only has two plugs and no phono plugs at the back of it, it was suggested it was non bose which made no sense to me, but ive been told theres a Sh*t ton of versions of bose HU I also have no steering controls
  12. found this link http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/news/ipod-solution/nissan-350z-new-head-unit-using-original-bose-amp/ which appears to show my exact plug config so ive ordered the exact iso they used and copy wiring will report back
  13. OK well tried the green/white wire today still didn't have any volts so tried the hot wire method and ran enough volts through it but still nothing, The green/white wire comes out of loom and into brown plug which goes to power ant I guess
  14. the green a white wire runs into a brown plug that appears to have relationship with the aerial my best guess is for the power ant
  15. Voltages were all from acc key setting Cheers for all the help buddy I'll report back asap
  16. cheers buddy voltage lowdown wires on big block pink/black - 12v grey - 3.9v blue/white - 3.4v red - 3.6v orange - 3.5v blue/red - 0v green - 3.6v white - 3.5v green/white -0v wires on small block are all 0v

  19. Thanks for the above buddy but both guides are for full bose not non bose like mine
  20. Definitely only 2 white blocks on mine and no phono leads buddy
  21. bit more research has pulled up that even though constant live is fine, there is also another live as you can remove cd on stock bose hu with keys removed can anyone confirm this ?
  22. right guys here we go I upgraded headunit today but ran into sooo many problems I have a 02 plate fairlady z and as far as I can workout it's a non bose ???, but it has a sub behind seat with an amp. Had massive issues with earthing and realised stock headunit appears to have no earth so made my own. Problem was it wouldn't turn on which was sorted once I ran earth through. Then everything functioned as it should but no sound.... So researched and heard that blue wire on headunit(switch) needs to be wired to amp, problems really started here as I can't work out what wire it is. as my stock headunit just has 2 plugs nothing else. So anyway while this was going on the pioneer headunit decided not to switch on so I assumed maybe I had caused a short so went through every fuse to check continuity not one had blown. So check volts at the main stereo plug live which was fine as was harness live and several other points heading towards the new headunit. As a last resort I plugged in the original bose headunit which... u guessed it now also doesn't power up I'm using one of these iso connectors Anybody had this happen and can point me in the right direction as I'm lost Cheers in advance
