Who was driving? jeez
Apparently a valeter. This car was definitely made on a Friday the 13th.

If you get the car sorted in time then perhaps consider coming along to the Shelsley Walsh meeting. Its probably a 3 hour drive for you but get off the M6 at Crewe or Stoke and take the A roads, its a nice drive. There are 20+ other owners going and if you book as part of the 350Z OC then only £12.50. The experience will help you feel the love for your car and Z ownership experience.
Won’t be sorted. They’ve just called saying it’s been bumped and cracked the bumper. You can’t write this.

Just this moment read that you're using Westway Nissan.
That's about 20-30 min from me.
Almost bought my zed there.
Had I known earlier I would have offered to help when you were in Jamaica.
Hope it all works out well.
I had teething problems when I got my zed new in 05.
1.Rattle from the Nismo spoiler due to a detached bolt inside.
2.Clicky axel
3.O2 sensor went
4.Rear number issues.
5.Skipping CD player.
I was pulling my hair out.
First new car I'd ever bought and it seemed every few months I was back and forth to Westway Stockport.
Alas after 2 years all the teething problems were sorted and it's been relatively trouble free since 2007.
Thanks for that post mate. Gives me a little
hope! Fingers crossed I’m soon to get the niggles out the way and I can get out driving it for summer.

Hi Luke, do a window reset..... drop window and hold switch for 10 -15 seconds. Take window up and again hold switch for 10 - 15 seconds- hopefully that should sort the problem.
Great! Thanks mate. It goes in tomorrow to find out what the clunking noise is and to do the tracking again.
-
Anyone know why my passenger window drops when I open it, but then doesn’t lift back up when I shut it? Then I’d open again, it drops, but then same again, doesn’t go up. So literally opened the car door 5 times and it’s made its way half way down and doesn’t go up, unless you pull the window switch up.

Gearbox seal came in early. Jobs been done. Told me tracking been sorted too.
Drove it home.
Tracking still off to the left and there’s a big clunking sound coming from under the car when I come off accelerator. Service closed until Monday so I’ll bell them then. Do you think I’m able to send it back and get refund? Been less than 2 months. Been in there 3 weeks. Bit fed up with it. Think I’d prefer to look for another one from somewhere else.
-
I got a 10 sec video of the mechanic showing me the oil leak under the car when it first went in. But that’s the only communication I’ve had. Everything else has been me (and davey ) calling and asking what’s going on.
-
So far I’ve been told they’re just changing the seal. Then new clutch and flywheel. Now just a seal and a bearing. At least if the clutch is ok, I know it’ll definitely be an exedy one.
Good idea davey_83. Im home next week. And now I know I’ve got a 6 week wait, at least I’ve time to sort things.

Its not a problem, Jess in service just now advise a gearbox seal is on back order etd 6 weeks. Clutch not being replaced, only the clutch bearing.
Thanks so much mate.

Ha. It’s been a rough start to ownership. The plan of getting a nearly new one so I don’t get problems with it didn’t work

I would also request photos of the new clutch as proof of what they have installed, I wouldn't trust the main stealer, I got ripped off by them years ago, I wouldn't go to Nissan not even for a dust cap
Good thinking mate I know. Not filling me with confidence so far.

Not what I asked. Already plan on calling them but thought best to email first to save a very expensive phone call. My problem is if they’ve already put the clutch in I will need to know how to check if what they’ve fitted is what I asked for. That was what I needed to know.
-
What are the main differences in these clutches? And is the a way to visually check which clutch you have? Thank you.
-
Westway aren’t replying to emails I’ve been sending since 18th. Can’t call them to request the exedy clutch as I’m in sunny jamaica. If they end up fitting the wrong clutch, and just try to say it’s the right one, is there a way to visually check the clutch to see which it is?

Hope its all free. These defects possibly symptoms of abuse. This an ex demo? I dont know about Nissan but the oil leak in gearbox happened to me with an Audi A3 pushing to the redline uphill! Needed new clutch and flywheel as well as a hole sheered in the gearbox casing causing oil to leak onto the clutch/flywheel causing it to slip. £1000 all in! New box and clutch/flywheel
Might just be one of those things! But this car should be able to handle it
Salesman said it was the directors car for 6 months. But I suspect it was a demo car with that kind of wear to the clutch. Either way, if it all gets put in new, that’s great. Thanks incompetent test drivers

2018 Nismo 370z should have the exedy clutch fitted when new as it was an upgrade on earlier 370z Nismo. Replace with the same is my advice.
Ye I definitely want exedy to be fitted. But will they automatically fit the exedy with it being an 18 plate? Or do you think I should specify so they don’t just put any in?
-
Well, you’re all too positive here
it needs a new clutch and flywheel!!
Rattle was a loose brake calliper
wheel alignment getting sorted.
turns out there was a gearbox leak that fit into the clutch and caused damage. A bit worrying with less that 9k on the clock. So 12 months old and getting new clutch and flywheel!
Quick question. It’s an ‘18 plate, so should the new clutch be the exedy one? (it’s what they would have taken out) Or could they chuck an older one in and I’d never know? Thinking is it worth me requesting it to be an exedy.
-
When did they start doing the exedy clutch?
-
My 18 plate nismo is definitely better mpg than my 350Z HR was. I’d say by around 4mpg.
-
Great. Thanks all for your help. It goes in next week for alignment and rattle issue. I’ll see what they say.
-
Great. Thank guys. Springs are clear of transit clips. I think the release bearing is going on it too loud whining that goes as soon as I press the clutch. Done less than 9k. Starting to take the excitement of the new car away now. Its less than 12 months old so I’m hoping they’ll just sort it all, or they’ll have me constantly moaning to them for the next 2 years of warranty!!

Bump. If anyone can help with even just one of the questions would be a big help. Thanks guys

Hi all. Picked my nismo up this week. Noticed the biting point is so high that it seems to just about completely engage right as I come off the clutch pedal. Salesman has told me that’s how nismos are. Does this sound right? I know slave cylinders go on these for fun so don’t want the biting point being so high knowing it could wear this out. If not, is it easy to adjust the biting point?
My new nismo! Couple of queries/problems if someone could answer?
