  1. Who's the closest person to me to take the car to have a look at it? Doesn't feel like my cluch is slipping. Done it a couple more times now. Pedal goes really light at the top and really heavy at the bottom and that's where the biting point shifts to. I've had it in 5th and 6th at low revs and planted my foot and there's no slip at all.

  2. Only done a few hundred miles in my HR. And I'm adoring it. But I notice when I bought it the biting point was very high, but didn't seem to slip. I give it a blast through first the other day, and as I put it in 2nd the clutch slipped a lot. Since then, the biting point has gone much lower down but seems strong again. Do they have self adjusting clutches? And it's just worked its way too high causing it to slip? Or am I looking at new clutch? Cheers.

  3. Ah. Not interested then! K&n panels will do me. I've got a HR so I wanna keep the strong and cool air flow. Has a nice induction noise anyway. Which hfc's? I've heard Berks fail emissions tests sometimes?

  4. I think this is the route I'm going to go down. With k&n panel filters. Does the full milltek system include y pipe? And I'm still baffled as to what a pop charger is and what it does! Then it'll be in to TDI north for uprev.

  5. Very interesting! I'd sacrifice top end speed for acceleration any day. Even if not a track car. I've no plans on going anywhere near the top end of the cars capability.

  6. Do people know rough price on these mods to an 07 HR

    K&n panel filters

    High flow cats

    Miltek exhaust and Y pipe

    Uprev at TDI north

Price for each part and best place to order. Looking for quiet exhausts as they seem loud enough standard. And miltek seems to be the way to go for that but also good quality.

    Cheers

  7. Still gains on an n/a engine. And the HR seems to be Betty responsive and smooth already so it's good you've got it back that way with possibly a 20 bhp increase, as I bet the rr would have read lower than 309 originally.

  8. Or at least mess with ratios so 2nd gear is hitting a much more uniformed 60mph

As mentioned above, swap out you diff to change gearing. Try the lower ratio auto diff, will be cheap (if doable).

Sounds like the best option to get full power at more reasonable speeds. Thanks

  9. Ye it seems to specifically be a HR problem. Quite hard to explain. Especially when the engine pulls and sounds amazing at any speed in any gear. But one of the reasons a payed a premium for a HR engine is to have the extra power. Which it definitely has IF you drive it right. Maybe it'll just take to to master it. I was just hoping there was an easy fix where a guy could plug his laptop in, click a few buttons and bring the power down to a more useable level. Or at least mess with ratios so 2nd gear is hitting a much more uniformed 60mph.

  10. Ha. I have 3 diesels already 😂 yes true the torque can make things feel faster especially when it comes in a big lump. I'll get used to it I supposed. I had a Celica Tsport that had lift (like vtech) and that need to be spanked to come alive. But at least that only did 35 in 1st and 60 in 2nd!

  11. I don't want a super quick car either. I've had one. I want the HRs speed at 5,500-7,500 but at a more accessible Rev range. Just to save downshifting into crazy low gears just to stop being humiliated by slower cars.

  12. Over geared is definitely the way to describe it. If you're sat at 35, and needed to be on full chat you would have to do a big blip of the throttle as you downshifted to 1st! Because 2nd would leave you with around 20mph to pull through before on full chat. Not practical at all.

  13. Hi all. I'm quite happy with standard exhaust on my HR and standard induction too. The one thing I think lets the HR Down is only having that extra horsepower so far up the Rev range. Would a uprev on a standard HR be able to bring the power further down the Rev range? So I'm not having to be in the 60s to get the most out of 2nd gear?
