Just sharing for any one thats interested.

I recently upgraded the exhaust system on my 15 plate nismo .

I ended up going for the invidia cbe recomended by torqen with berk hfc to free up abit of power . I had it all installed and upreved by Horsham developments who where fantastic by the way. I already had befor the uprev some k&n drop inns and hps post maf tubes .These are the only upgrades the car has.

We put it on the dyno with everything fitted and it ran a base of 324bhp (not whp) after jez did some playing around with the fueling we managed to get 355.8bhp and 296whp out of her which doesnt seem huge gains upon the factory stated 344bhp ?

First impression on driving the throttle felt way more responsive and the engine seems to pick up power alot faster and smoother so regards to the dyno reading it feels way faster .

The sound of the cbe with the hfc sounds amazing it is pretty loud and loud on cold starts but thats how i like it ,from around 3000rpm up the noise kicks in and starts to scream around 4500rpm up . The down shifts sound amazing alot louder than befor .

The only down side to the noise is that there is a drone on the motorways but im happy to live with it.

Another down side was the size of the invidia tips they looked lost. So i orderd from aam their 5" burnt ti tips then got a local exhaust place to weld them on these looked amazing .

Big thanks to Torqen for supplying all the parts and to Horsham developments for getting it all fitted and tuned.

Used a oil filter removal tool which is like a thick rubber ban on a handle you loop this around the knob it grips it then turn it anti clock wise .It was on very very stiff and did take a mate to sturdy the knob whilst i unturned it with the tool .

How did you remove the OE shifter knob?

Orderd from Torquen. My new Blox Racing neo chrome shifter.

I was a little skeptical at first as to whever id feel a difference but im happy to say this feels much smoother than standard whilst shifting . I did have to purchase a vms gear boot collar to tidy it all up alsoI did have to drill the hole and re thread it out since the one i liked was for a honda.

Don't mention about the UpRev, just in case they go funny about it. If they change your clutch, supply a CSC, uprated SS line and better fluid, ask them to fit for you.

Take it you can supply what i need would it be worth going to a light weight fly wheel at the same time ? Any benifits? Thanks

Cheers guys imbooked in tomorrow with jez at horshams developments hes going to take a look at it and then see what options i have .

Take it back to Nissan and on road test, replicate / demonstrate the fault to there top technician.

 

You will probably get a new clutch kit and when the gearbox is out,ask them to install an after market, upgraded CSC which you will have to supply yourself and also some high temperature clutch fluid.

Well, it's not impossible. Certainly sounds like the clutch is slipping, but it could just be poor adjustment too.

 

Easy way to tell is to go out and sit at 30mph in 5th gear, then floor the throttle. If the revs rise but the speed doesn't then yes, it's goosed.

 

 

However, are you referring to upshifts or downshifts? I wonder if it's anything to do with the rev matching stuff...

Sorry only on upshifts but ill give the 30mph in 5th a try and see what happens

Hi guys ive had my 2015 nismo since new and ive put 6500miles on it with no track driving just road. Its had a uprev ,cbe ,hfc and k&n dropins with silicone post maf tubes so not running major power.

 

The problem is when i drive it hard shifting gear fast its like the clutch isnt biting and all the car does is rev ? This doesnt happen every time but happends now and again. Any ideas what the problem may be ?

It is the first manual car i have owned personally but i have driven manual cars for years at work and my other halfs car . Is it possible im doing something wrong and i have managed to kill the clutch already ? Any input appreciated thanks guys

Sorry to hear your troubles, quick question does it do this only when shifting at high revs? Or do you get the slipping affect when pushing the car in between gears in say 4th or 5th?

Sorry to clarify it only happens on upshifts. Happens just as i engage the gear only on full throttle ive had it happend in 2nd 3rd and 4th all shifting up under full pressure .

You could always give Cookbot a try as I know he has been talking about making some 350Z gear knobs for the community so a "gear gaiter finisher" should be a doddle for him to make.

Ive sent him a message thanks for the help hopefully that should sort things . If not ill keep looking the nylon ones arnt my cup of tea after a black alloy one thanks though

350 and 370 shift knobs look best with a finisher to go between the knob and the leather - will you be making one?

Any new on this as i am also in desperate need of a black alloy finisher ?

Hi , i have just purchased and fited a blox racing shifter but the gear boot looks shabby .

Does any one know where i can get hold of a black boot collar to tidy thungs up .I have found one on z1 motorsports but they want $42 to deliver a $16 part !

Any one have any ideas . Thanks

I use swissvax autobahrn originally designed for Bugatti to stop the aggressive brake dust and high temperatures staining the verons wheels.If its good enough for Bugatti its good enough for me . I top it up once every 6months and it works a treat nothing sticks to it .Makes cleaning wheels so much easier aswell.

I applied g1 and g2 over 6 months ago and still going strong i do top it up every 2 months with g5. Its great stuff above 50mph their is no need to use windscreen wipers the air flow just pushes the water off really impressive.

If you're not bothered about logos etc these are pretty decent. I've had a set of the heavy duty rubber ones for about 2 years now and they are as good as new. They're quite heavy, very durable and easy to clean. The only downside is they smell quite strongly of rubber for about week but then it wears off.

Id like some nice carpeted ones . seen some Nismo ones from japan online that look pretty good any one else seen these ?

Does any one know where i can het a decent set of car mats . I have ones supplied by nissan with a tacky prited on 370z logo , also the holes in the matts are larger than the pins in The floor so they move around abit . Disappointed to say the least with the quality of the ones supplied by nissan

Its a truel dual so sounds better than the standard also has a h-pipe rather than a y pipe and i think the gains over standard are around 6-8 whp . also looks alot better with the nismo engraved 5" tips

Taken from my 2015 370z nismo with only 5500 miles on the exhaust. Full cat back system .

I believe will fit any 370z but correct me if I'm wrong? great condition could do with good clean but no damage so will come up looking nice no scratched or dents on the tips again a good polish will bring them to a mint condition. Any questions please pm me
