  1. Something similar happened to me. I did a trip from London to Edinburgh and then back (on a stag do). The cars were my old 350z, a z4 (3.0l) and an Impreza. Saw loads of Z4's and Impreza's, but not one 350z/370z. It was a great feeling.
  2. I get the feeling Zeds aren't popular in Europe, is that the case?
  3. I think my car has the clicking axle problem, there is a single high pitched click that can be heard when I press the accelerator and occasionally when I break. Is this the clicking axle issue that I see mentioned a lot on here? Also, I bought my car from Nissan and I have the 'Cared4' warranty, is this issue covered under warranty or is this deemed to be wear and tear? I've checked the policy wording and 'axle' isn't mentioned, unless it's known as something else? If it is covered then great, if not, then they'll charge me the diagnostic fee.
  4. Thanks for all the comments guys This is one thing I'll be reviewing in great depth. I was dead against 370z automatics before driving them, but I really liked enjoyed the experience when test driving them. Then when I said 'Yes' to this car I suddenly got worried again about it being automatic, but in my first 3 days I'm really enjoying it, but it could be a gimmick! So I'll report back when I've had it a little while and once I've had a chance to give it the test it deserves.
  5. Hello all. I was a 350z owner (manual Gun Metal DE 2005), but a taxi driver decided to crash into the back of it when it was parked and wrote it off, bad times. So after a lot of looking at other cars (M3, XKR, 911, Evo, Impreza) and 350z HR models, I've decided to go with a 370z. It's the Black Edition edition and it's an automatic. I've always been against automatics as I've been a firm believer in getting a manual transmission in a car like this, but I test drove a couple of automatic 370z's and I loved them. I've only had the car 3 days, but I absolutely love it. I loved the 350z and this feels like they've just simply improved everything a little bit. The only downside is the exhaust noise, it is far too quiet, but I knew that would be the case. I'll post an update when I've owned it for a little while. New (excuse the bad photo, it's hardly stopped raining since I've bought it!): Old:
  6. Yeah, that's why I'm confused. I can see another member had a similar issue, so I've PM'ed him. I'm hoping he found out the answer.
  7. The car is Quartz and the seats are red with embossed 40th wording, it also has the 40th edition badge on the back, so it's definitely a black edition, but just numberless (until I find it out)
  8. Hi Addster, did you ever find out yours? I'm having the same issue. I might contact Nissan to see if they can help.
  9. Hello all. Quick question... I've just bought a Black Edition 370z from a Nissan garage, but it doesn't have the plate on the strut bar, so I can't tell what number it is. Is this normal? Should all the Black Editions have the plate? The Nissan garage assures me it is the Black Edition and it says Black edition on all their paperwork and with the DVLA too. So I'm confident it is, but I was just wondering is there another way of finding out the number? Okay, I lied about the 'quick question' as I've asked about 100 questions! Any help is much appreciated.
  10. What is it with taxi drivers and crashing into 350z's? This happened to my parked 370z a couple of months ago: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/110210-im-a-little-devastated/ Sorry to see another 350z go.
  11. Saw you at the traffic lights near Waitrose in Horley. I was walking, so if you saw some tall guy staring, then that would have been me!
  12. I agree. Ideally, I wanted to buy off the forum as I love the idea of going back through the person's old posts and you can see exactly what they've done to the car and how they've treated it too, it's the perfect history check. Sadly the cars that are on the forum aren't the right ones for me. Thanks for this. I had been checking the Zeds for Sale section for the last couple of months, but I couldn't find the perfect one. I was really, really, really keen on that Black Edition that you linked me to, it looks amazing, just a little above my budget sadly.
  13. Seat, not seat belt. It's just the known issue of the leather wearing off where it's rubbed. It happened on my 350z and I've seen it on lots of others. It's been HPI'ed and it's all good.
  14. Hello! I'm considering buying a 370z from a garage and I was wondering what you guys think it should be worth. Here is the info: 370z Black Edition (Auto) 2010 registration Quartz colour 54k miles Full Nissan service history (6 stamps) MOT until Feb Comes with 12 months warranty from Nissan Fairly good condition outside, there are a few stone chips Drivers seat is badly damaged, they won't repair that but I have two quotes of £90.00 and £120.00 What do you think is roughly worth? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
  15. Looking at buying a 370z, but one of the stripes down the side of the car is damaged. Two questions.... 1. Is it easy to take the stripes off? Is it just a case of using a hair dryer and peeling them off? 2. How easy is it to buy and apply a new livery either side? Anyone on here supply them? Thanks as always!
  16. I normally always buy through garages, but I'm looking to buy a 370z privately. What is the safest way for me to pay for it?
  17. My beloved 350z was written off (taxi driver blacked out and crashed into it while parked!) I've been looking at 350z, but I'm thinking of making the leep to a 370z. It seems like I'd be spending an extra 5-6k, is it worth it? What's it like to drive in the lower gears, I always found the 350z to be sluggish, did they fix this in the 370z? Would be interested to hear what you all think, especially the people who went from 350z to 370z.
  18. Thanks mate, it's much appreciated. Interesting! So how does the torque compare between the 276, 296 and 313 versions? I always felt my 2004 was a bit sluggish when acceleration in first and second. Are the newer models better? If I get another, I'll get it remapped as I know that can help too. Any advice is welcome, thanks.
  19. My 2004 350z was just written off, a taxi crashed into the back of it, arrggghhh! Therefore, I'm now looking again and I just noticed a 2007 350z with the bhp listed as 296bhp, so I assume this is the 2005 onwards models which are often classed as 300bhp. My question is this... it says (on Autotrader) that the 0-60 is 5.5seconds, but that can't be right, can it? Slightly related question, what are the 313bhp 0-60 times? It's been a couple of years since I've studied all the different variations, so I'm a bit rusty with it all. Go easy on me. What are your thoughts?
  20. I did ask about this and everyone claims off the taxi, so no one can make a claim on my insurance. Phew! I did also wonder the same. I was thinking of taking the mats (in case I buy another 350z), otherwise, I don't need anything else, but I better check the legality of it first.
  21. I'm sure it'll buff out. Let me know if you're interested! Btw, you'd be'crushed'? Nice pun! This is what I wasn't sure about, I was given the option of dealing with Admrial (my company) or dealing with the 3rd party insurers direct. So thanks for the advice. Yes, I was parked on the other side of the road and he came round the bend and it looks like he didn't bother turning!! It hit my car which then launched the Fiat 500 in front of me, that then hit a Vauxhall Astra (which due to age also looks written off). The Fita 500 looks like it got away fine, madness! 'Crushed'? Haha, like the pun! My girlfriend saw it this morning at 8:30, she was in tears!!! It happened at 2:30 last night. It was a little down the round from us, so we didn't har it, but other people did. One man thought he roof was collpasing. The police were called and have given me a crime reference number. Ah that's good to hear. Was hoping they'd be good! Thanks for letting me know. So you went to the 3rd party insurer direct or through your own? Ha, to be 'fare' it was funny.
  22. I went to my car this morning and last night a local taxi decided to crash into the back of it and it’s completely and utterly destroyed it. Luckily I wasn’t in it at the time, so I’m okay and I’ve since spoken with the driver of the taxi and he’s okay too. I'm gutted. Anyone had any dealings with insurance companies after a non-fault claim, what’s the best thing to do? I may be wrong, but I get the impression that 350z's are always more expensive than what they're actaully worth (more so than normal), so what advice do you all have to get the most amount of value from the insururers? I'm with Admiral.
  23. I saw a black 350z with the number plate K80. I'm sure I've seen this number plate on an older blue 350z. Looks like it's been changed and put on a newer black 305z. Sadly I was about 10 seconds too late to the Shell roundabout in Horley, others I would have waved from my GM 350z!
  24. I saw a gun metal grey 350z heading to Tunbridge Wells this morning. You were about 5 cars back from me in my gun metal grey 350z. I could just about make the shape out in the mirror. It looked like it had a body kit, although that could have been the distance playing a trick on me! Anyone on here?
  25. On Saturday I saw a yellow 370z (10 plate - I think) going to Gatwick North terminal. Also saw a silver 53 plate 350z in Horley parked near mine!! Anyone on here?
