Hi Olly,

 

from the photos posted looks like APM is the "bodyshop" you're mentioning. Looking at their website here: http://apmcustoms.co.uk doesn't look like they are a bodyshop / specialist place, but a car wrapping place?

 

A bodyshop shouldn't have trouble making replica body kits / parts like the ones in the photos fit perfectly. Did the seller say they are straight fit out of the box or some work / preparation is required? If they did say it will be a straight fit, then speak to the seller and ask for replacement or refund.

I had someone else come out who runs a body shop to see whether he would take on the job, not apm, that's just where my car is getting wrapped and the parts were getting fitted (the simple ones). The person from the body shop didn't want to touch it, he said it has been an old mould so the part over years has just gotten smaller and smaller. I am just posting in here asking for opinions before anything else proceeds, I understand that fettling is always going to be required, but wondering where the line is.

I've just unwrapped and offered these parts up to the car (rear spoiler and rear bumper) and they don't fit, I understand obviously that fettling is usually required but is this a bit much? Or is it the bodyshops fault saying that they are unable to do the task?

Does size matter? or are they just cut to legnth?

Size doesn't matter, you get a big reel of it, so as you put it on round, you just cut it off so it doesn't matter what size you will get, you cut it off yourself (just with scissors you'll get an email PDF of info and instructions

So the time has come to leave her in the capable hands of APM customs for the fittings and wrap, Friday next week can't come quick enough! Feel as though everything was ready after painting the wiper blade arms last night ;

Had an early knock on the morning with this being handed to me ;

The long awaited items from mark! The brace and Perspex along with the bolts for the plenum spacer (many MANY thanks) As well as some new coloured piping (yes I4N I may have stole your idea again 🙄)

My only hope now is that my wheels come back in time from being repairedso that the car looks the part straight away and I can attend trax!

It seems as though the next update will be when the car is complete and hopefully a picture with a big grin on my face !

Hey people,

Had the dreadful news today from the refurb company that my wheels can not be fully repaired, due the damage being that severe (this was due to an absolute idiot in a lorry on a 60mph road cutting a corner towards me, forcing me off the road or writing off the car 😤😤) .. anyway, the company have offered to repair as much as possible and respray them a different colour, which I have chosen to do. Now I have the wheel nuts sitting with me, which obviously don't match the Colour at all, what type paint is best to use on them? I'm guessing not the bog standard type that I've used from Halfords? But I could be wrong ...

Haha, only JUST!! It was fun looking back, but won't be doing it again, I hate running, and I got left on my own because my friends were pretty much athletes (boo )

But as you can see my face (far right) I was knackered, never faced a harder challenge !!

But under different circumstances, I would have enjoyed it a lot more !
