  1. my car has 11 stamps in the book. i bought it in may and im going to do the next service myself. as has already been said, I'll keep all receipts and then at least i know and anyone looking at it what it jas had done Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  2. i was very interested, am i right in thinking the mod is the bigger one??? just checked my 04 and it has the big one in it and a k&n. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  3. to be honest you're probably right, however a bike test and a cbr600 doing track days would work. the thing is if ots track day and the odd sunday blast you can't beet a bike for that. only downside is whatever car you get in after a bike it feels slow.....unless you have a spare £100,000. i do think this would be the cheaper option and though plus any 600 sports bike will beat 99% of cars you see on the road...or track for that matter
  4. ive got a slightly different suggestion. keep the z as it is and use as your daily. spend £500 doing your bike test and go and buy a bmw s1000rr!!! it'll do 0-60 in 3 seconds 0-100 in less then 5 and 186 top end. just about in your budget and it'll be loads faster then any car you can afford. thats what i have, 2 bikes a 350z and a focus to take the family out
  5. i have the exact same problem. i bought my car about 2 weeks ago and never noticed it until i got it home. im not sure if its the exhaust, with mine you only have to rest the slightest bit more pressure on the pedal and the noise goes. i did notice that sometimes if you put the cruise control on the noise also goes....but not all the time. my brother thought could be fuel pump. ive not posted the problem because i didn't want to find out ive bought a shed
  6. ok thanks, seen a big gearbox syringe on the Internet for about £7 so i should be alright with that
  7. so ive had my 350 for about a week now and was looking at different mods to do, however i think the most sensible place to spend money first is on a few service bits. ive seen genuine nissan diff oil is £25 and gear oil £45, which isnt bad. trouble is i dont have my own ramps so doing tje job could be a right pain. i know its only 2 bolts on each and a really easy job. but what does a garage charge?? is it difficult to do at home if you only have a trolly jack?
  8. are the black diamond pads much better then the stock pad? at £60 for a set, they seem quite cheap compared to the ds2500 and the yellow stuff ebc. i
  9. to be honest thats kind of on the lines i was thinking. However times are hard at the moment so i think im gonna go with just the pads for now as there are a few other bits that i want to get done. thanks for advice
  10. all looks nice, how much was it to do the bits in the photos if you don't mind me asking. While im on the subject of interior, my steering wheel leather is a little worn at the top. is there any way of repairing this without having to remove the wheel??
  11. it all looks really good. had a quick search and there is one near me....hydro fx. it looks okay so I'll probably go down and see what he can sort. do you know if its heat resistant? was thinking something like this could make parts of the engine bay look really good
  12. i was hoping to get the pads changed for less then £100, but id change them myself anyway. was thinking of wire brushing and painting black the bit the wheel fits onto, as my wheels are anthracite, changing the pads and cleaning up the calipers. there's virtually no lip on the disc
  13. that looks awesome and definitely worth looking into. im glad i asked, is it fairly hard wearing, does it mark easily?
  14. sounds like some fairly sound advice thanks. ive never heard of black diamond but they look okay. if my budget can stretch to the ds2500 i might try those. good point about the braided hoses, ive always been into bikes and always put them on. this is my first sports car and its good to know if a mod would be beneficial or not
  15. ive just bought myself a 350z, although its in pretty good condition it could do with some new pads. money is very tight as i just spent all my pennies buying it. The front discs are not in bad condition but i don't know which way to go. id like to change the discs, pads and get some stainless break lines however it'll take some time to save up for that so think it'll just be pads. im used to driving a ford focus so anything is going to be better but which is the best pad for me?? i will be doing normal town driving a lot of the time and fast b road driving, i can't see me doing a track day any time soon so want some pads that will * stop better then standard. * won't cost a fortune. * won't cover my wheels in break dust. * work well hot and cold. my brother is into his cars and is recommending 'project mu' id mever heard of them and not seen them mentioned on previous thread
  16. sounds good to me. thanks for the info
  17. so i finally bought myself a 350z after looking since late december. its a 53 plate with 62,000 miles. its in pretty good condition but like a lot id seen does have a few scuffs/marks on the centre console around the stereo and cubby hole. my question is, is there a particular pen or paint that i could use to touch up the small scuffs?? as im sure you'll know they appear white when scuffed and if i could colour them in i don't think they'd be as noticeable
  18. you just have to keep on checking all the sites every hour or so, and be prepared to drop everything to go for the right car. i actually found one on auto trader, called up and agreed a price. trouble was i was working evenings and couldn't get there until the Saturday. midwest performance bought it on the Thursday night and i missed out, obviously the price then went up by £1500. all dealers do it anf so many good 350z are getting snapped up by dealers. keep looking and hold out for a good one. id been looking since January and was getting a bit fed up. found one that had been advertised for about 10 mins, phoned him up and did the deal and collected it on Monday. 53 plate, 62,000 miles full service history, scorpion exhaust, refurbished wheels only 2 months ago. needles to say im very happy
  19. im about 99% sure that if you want the 296 bhp one you will be buying one with higher tax. the standard engine has 276bhp, the gt4 version has 296bhp and is the revup engine. this engine was then offered from 2006 as the standard engine. so from 2006 you can buy 296bhp but from March 06 the tax goes up to £500. so the newest you could get would be a 55 plate. and ive never seen a 55 plate 06 revup 296bhp for sale
  20. hi all. i am new to here as well and have been thinking the same, which to go for? i have looked at 4 so far from 6k-10k driven the de and rev up which to be honest felt very similar. after what i have seen i think you need to look at more condition and service history then how many miles or what model to have. they are all awesome. i do have one question if anyone knows? i have driven 4, 2 had light clutches and 2 surprisingly heavy, it this the sign of new clutch needed?
  21. which to buy? whats the heavy clutch a sign of?
