Hi mate, yes the festival of speed event, just watched some highlights of it this morning on TV. Looks like it would make a great road trip.
-
Always wanted to do this event and toying with the plan of doing it next year. Any members been and can give their experience of it ?
Travelling down from Scotland so would be looking to turn it into a 4 / 5 day road trip with other members if they fancy it and having 2 days at the festival and the rest taking in the sites and roads of England getting there using as little motorways as possible.

Guys, planning for next one already, probably 2021 and looking to go to Mallaig, Plockton, up the west cost, across the north coast to Thurso / Scrabster and getting ferry over to Orkney for the day. Will start a new post once I start the planning

Hi gents,
I'm currently in Wick having done the 500 the other way round in my HR. As I'll be heading down the A99 (leaving Wick approx 9am) if you're stopping anywhere for lunch what time would that be (and where) and I'll try to catch you on the road and introduce myself (assuming the missus hasn't dragged me off route to a local castle)
Also, have to say, I'm jealous of the driving that you guys have ahead, if I had time I'd turn around and do it all again, genuinely great stuff. Only saw one police car up by Thurso, and no cameras so hopefully you'll have the same luck!
Cheers
Ben
Hi Ben, welcome to Scotland, glad you've had a blast. Difficult to say tbh and there might be a group split from when we head off on Saturday morning as a few of us are cutting off the north east corner and going diagonally to Kyle of tongue / Durness . Some others might want to go to John o groats, sorry cant be anymore specific than that atm.

Great, see you all there. One last thing, is it Tescos beside the Prison or Tescos opposite B&Q and beside Football Stadium?
The one on the south side of Perth, just after you leave the M90 heading into Perth. It's on your right heading into Perth. Here's the post code PH2 8DX

Looking forward to joining you in Perth for a days run north if that is still ok.
What time would be good to be at Tesco Perth? If that's still the meeting place.

Does anyone know how many people are still actually going to this??
I've booked and paid for the full weekend of hotels, It just seems like alot of people have dropped out in the last few weeks...
Only one full weekender has had to drop out and one or two day trippers. The list is as it was before Tom had to pull out

Hi, what time will you be leaving Muir of Ord to head North? As I plan to ambush you about Golspie / Brora and join you all for the day
Not got a clue mate tbh, but from last time we were all ready to head off about 10.00 each morning..... iirc

Hi lads, just a wee reminder and a heads up for our NC500 trip.
PLEASE ENSURE you have recovery insurance prior to heading off.
Also had a heads up from a few local lads on fb pages re police presence on the 500. If you've got ANY mods to your car, make sure your insurance company knows about them, being informed of car clubs getting pulled and the police impouding cars for undisclosed mods, even just minor mods as the insurance company's are saying, no notification on mods made so therefore car not insured. You have been warned !!

Check out the forum dealers, Torqen etc, they'll be able to help you source one easily I'd think

The air con issue is just a belt, your garage is having a laugh. Head units are easy and readily available to replace with an after market one or a tablet. The peeling lacquer/ paintwork is also easily fixed. If the rest of the car is sound and has a good service history then I'd make the effort and expense available to sort it. Its a Zed and should not be anywhere near EOL. Just depends on how much you love owning and driving her

It's for the blue tooth device, but the actual blue tooth transponder is missing. Wouldn't worry about it, they were / are useless with today's tech.

Aye indeed mate, was looking to try incorporate the Yorkshire Dale's on the route down as I've read good things about them. Appreciate there will have to be a fair bit of motorway on route but if planned properly could probably take in some of the best English countryside routes
