  1. Its Zmanalex's Zed, and tuned to over 700 ponies I believe. I've met Alex a few times and this car is something very special. He regularly does track days in it, and his GTR, he also had an Atom but sold it. He's great to talk to about Zeds

Wish that applied in Scotland! I don't believe we get that option.

The SG and PS have been looking into this for the last couple of years but PS are awaiting funding from the SG to get it up and running. I think we'll get it eventually but the SG seem to be dragging their feet on it

Yes the accommodation even in May was quite pricey for what it was! And there was a fair few other road trippers out there. It was brilliant though, driving in the sunshine one minute, then through a hail storm the next

I'll never forget the day when the weather was really mixed for most of the day with roadster members constantly stopping to put their roofs down and back up every 10 minutes , great trip that was with cracking lads & lassies.

  4. Sold my Zed and went Geerman, E46 M3 in gorgeous Phoenix yellow, lovely looking car but just never grew to love it as much as my Zed, where I spent a wee fortune modding.

Swapped back to Jap, but this time got a R33 Skyline GTst, love the lightness and the way it delivers its power compared to the Zed and have started down the modding route with it, R34 turbo, 650cc injectors z32 maf, nistune ecu, and new coilovers. Hoping to get the love for the R33 as much as I had for my Zed. Really only sold it because I wanted something boosted, and if the previous owner and member on here hadn't pestered me to sell it to him I'd probably still have her and stabled her with the R33. Do regret letting her go but was desperate for boost and theres few (in my opinion) more iconic boosted cars that even come close to the nissan line, as said above, S12 etc really float my boat, love 90's Jap, not just Nissan, the 90's really brought some great cars to the fore. Got to say though I love old fords too. I'd love to think I'd have another 350 /370 Zed in a few years but it'll have to come boosted, dont think I'd go back to a NA one again and if I had £12k sitting about I'd buy Scobie's green machine right now.

Is it best to avoid going after May and before September? Due to how busy it can get? I know that some people just go along to john o groats and come back to take the mid highlands from Tongue back down to Inverness instead of sticking to the coast because of how busy it gets in peak times

I'd say defo give June July and August a miss, May and September would be my advice, even then its mobbed, but doable

  6. Theres a couple of NC500 roadtrips I've organised if you want to have a search through the Events section, loads of info there for you to peruse at your leisure. I've done it countless times in the Zed and motorbike over the years, canny believe a fellow Jock hasn't done it yet lol. Loads of photos and videos in the posts too. If you need any help organising or routing etc just give me a shout

I'm going to give NFU a go at renewal time - heard good reports, but no idea what they may charge.

I changed to them for my commercial vehicles, 2 trucks, 1 van and a Jeep. Saved me over 1200 quid from my previous company that stupidly I had shown years of loyalty to. Going to try them for my R33 and imprezza when they're due

Not sure if it's too late for you, but I've just renewed my insurance in the last week, and saved a fortune, so it may be a benefit to you seeing as you've another car yet to insure.

Normally, I had 7 bikes on a classic policy, 2 cars on different classic policies, and a modern runaround car on a normal policy.

I've just taken out a multi vehicle policy with Footman James, everything's on it, all agreed values bar the modern one, £515 all in.

    Worth a look.

Did that include any mods if fitted ?

  9. That's a helluva list bud lol, Attak Z has covered a fair few but if I was you I'd take at least 3 test drives on all the models, and make your choice. Also well worth spending an evening searching through the mountains of historic posts and info members have given out over the years before you arrange test drives. My one and only real piece of advice would be is ....buy a well known car off a member here. It'll have a lot of info on here on this OC forum.
