  1. you wont find a do-luck in the UK any more buddy. myself and Humpy had 2 recently, pig to fit even for a body shop.

Humpy got his on with alot of extra cost. mine was in woorse state that his as mine got binned. bodyshop couldnt make it fit without removing the crash barrier!

so instead i have the ING, which is a very similar design.

i have a build thread somewhere.... ''3 month sprint build'' in that section. plenty of piccies.

  2. A sensible budget :) At that range I'd be looking at something like the KW V3 kit, which might be a fraction more cash but it's pretty much the best you'll get. Other options I'd consider would be the B16 if you want to stick looking at Bilstein, they're excellent as well and to split the two kits would be splitting hairs.

I'd definitely be looking to lose the Tein springs, they're very much a budget set designed for lowering rather than performance. Better than stock, but you can do much better on that budget.

someone please report to the Admin Staff that Ekona's account has been hacked. There was no mention of a drivers course or changing to a better quality tyre.

    :)

i havent uprated my suspension myself yet on the Z, but for that solid budget get a matched spring+shock setup /or coilovers as mentioned above.

last time i ran aftermarket springs on stock shocks i found the ride awful as they didnt mate up very well.

  3. if you have it, there will be a licence for it on the ECU, so an Uprev dealer will be able to tell you (probably free of charge?) by plugging in a cable to check. I can only name 3 dealers, none of which are very close to Grimsby.

but, from a visual / indicator from your driveway, i dont beleive there is a way to tell.

  4. hey chaps,

i am looking for a thread on this website that i have seen a long time ago (which was probably years old in itself anyway) but i cant find it with searches, or searches on google. mainly because i cant remember any key words.

What im after, is the difference in size of anti-roll bar between the earlier DE model and i *think* the HR model.

i recall reading this thread and some posts into it someone came up with the useful nugget that a later model Z had uprated ARBS as stock, and that they were capable of being swapped.

from memory, this size was comparable with the aftermarket options for the DE, so the HR(?) was stubstanially thicker.

does anyone else remember this thread, or what it was called? im having no luck but im 100% it did exist :D

    Cheers

  5. i am looking to book up BrandsHatch myself in the coming weeks, im doing a noise test this evening so will let you know - albeit on an iphone app.

    (cobra non-res with sports cats.)

drop a PM to Joker (Kyle) i know he was recently turned away for his setup, but it was borderline but having heard his in the flesh it was alot louder than my cobra setup so im not too worried.

I wouldn't even use the Iphone app as a bench mark dude. We've used them in the past and they are miles off.

    fair enough.

any alternatives, aside from driving to track and finding out?

  7. hi MSVT,

i was lucky enough to have a go during the Palmer Sport track day last week. i noticed your sponsered cars where popping up.

i'm keen on doing an open track day for a full session with an instructor, probably at Brands Hatch as its my local, and not Bedford. do we get any discount as being part of the 350z club? :)

  8. ive done nearly 20,000 miles in my Z, never put a drop of oil in there (aside from oil changes of course).its been good as gold. soi tend ot check once a month when i do my tyres.

however i did a check just last week. and it was right on the min-line. slight panic! now im checking every tank of fuel (so every couple of days lol) to see where its at.

its stable s i think on this occasion it probably didnt get a full top up after its last service, and nothing to worry about.

but its important you do check regulary :)

the gaugue on the dash is only oil pressure, not oil level. with very low oil you will still register oil pressure.

think of it as a big cup of McDonalds milkshake: you can fill it up to a litre, and it requires 0.5litres as a safe minimum. but when you are sucking the straw there is no difference beteween 1ltre and 0.1litre. its only when you start to suck up air through the straw that the pressure drops. and its at this point damage can occur. (*or before. but this is when the oil light will come on anyway)

  9. i've seen air suspension in the flesh. spoke to Mr VeilsideZ at a couple of meets. i dont think its for me.

im afraid its not the approach, the sides of the bumper are lower than the center so by taking it at a sideways angle what you gain in a shorter distance between bumper and leading wheel you loose with height anyway ... in better english, still scraps.

but if you saw this drive, its steep.

but, i still havent had a single suggestion of an alternative front bumper  - discounting nismo as its a different car :)

(quiet on the n/a side? read post 1 of this thread, and post 1 of the n/a thread  )
