  1. Mmm ok so I have had a chance to calm down ... Soon looking back I should have told him to stick his money and go thru the insurance ... I'd get the whole bumper done at a minimum and a hire car while mine is in getting repaired ... And like a few have said who knows what damage is underneath .. Probably none but you don't know till it's been inspected ! Thinking of contacting my insurer and taking it the official route and giving him his cash back And yeah the quote I was given is for a " smart repair " so not the full bumper ! Don't think I was thinking straight after he hit the car , all I have is his reg and his street name Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah really happy with the results of the sealant so easy to use and gives the silver a nice gloss Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Ok sooo let me paint the picture Today I spent 6 hours fully detaining my car ... Wash , clay , polish and I used a sealant that will give protection for ah Round a year ... Took my car to Livingston to use my uncle garage Then when I got home to uddingston this happened Pulled into the tesco garage to lift money for 5 a side tonight , when standing at the cash point I watched a guy in a BMW Reverse into the front of my car ... I stood for a second in shock ! THEN the guy looked in his mirrors and tried to drive away ! This snapped me back into action and I ran in front of his car .... He stopped I shouted / threatened to drag him out the car ( not good from me ) ... After he got out we spoke a bit .. Mostly him saying it would rub out ! Me telling him to shut his face and get his docs ... I haven't calmed down at this point Lady from tesco came out and said there is a really good repair center at the back of the tesco so I decided to take the car round for a quote to get it sorted ... £120 was the quote I told the guy that I want 200 to end the matter now ( the extra was for the hassle of being without my car while the car is sorted ) Sooo here are some pics of my handy work and the damage ... Thanks for letting me vent just washed the car drying stage after polishing stage Some finished shots And the damage ... Actually gutted ! Hope to get her fixed soon last one of the moron who can't use mirrors Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I've only owned my car for just over 2 weeks and it's an 04 reg , no idea if it's on the original or not but it seems strong , ran the radio on it's own for a good 40 mins by mistake when I was plasti dipping and it fired up great Maybe it's had the bat replaced .... Is there a way I can tell ? What did it come with standard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. No I got mine from plasti dip uk ... To do 4 wheels you'll need 4 cans and I would advise 5 coats and take the dip up onto the tyre , makes it easy to remove after your finished Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. If you still have them next month I may make you a wee offer ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah after using the clay mitt give the full car a good blast with the power washer ... The way I used the clay was with a shampoo solution anyway so no need to give it another wash Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Good man ... It's fairly easy to use ... Just don't use the tar remover on the clay mitt it will dissolve the clay in seconds You'll feel in a few passes with the mitt that it takes all the crap off the paint leaving it super smooth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yeah I was a touch sceptical too , and crb that sounds like a fault .. But it should clay 15 cars ... Or your own car 15 times 😉 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Ok sooo my 350 in my opinion has never had a clay in it's whole life , and even thou the paint and body work are in good condition it's very rough to the Touch .. And before a polish and wax a clay was needed When looking on " detailing world " at clay options I came across a post about the Farecla G3 Body Prep Clay Mitt .. From halfords .. Took me about 20 mins to read thru all the comments everyone positive ! Good sign , so today I picked up one Price was only £12.99 and I picked up a few other things too like some body conditioner shampoo to use as a lube So the system Took to coin jet wash , blasted the car .. And filled up my 2 buckets .. Washed the whole car using 2BM and noodle wash mitt Rinsed car , refilled buckets with strong dilution of shampoo Then used the clay mitt on the glass of the car first just to prep the mitt , OMG glass was soooo smooth after .. Then on to the body work , used the mitt on a small section at a time , adding little pressure , the mitt just glides over the paintwork with the normal noise that flaying a car makes till all the contamination has lifted .. Then I rinse the mitt in clean water before dipping into the shampoo solution again moving my way over the car the same way you would if you were cleaning the car ! Whole car took me around 20 mins aprox to clay and the paint work is smooth as glass Sorry for the rant , but I'm truly stunned at it's performance and ease of use Some pictures So if your after a clay option I'd give this a go it's soo easy to use and works great Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah after having it on the car for 2 days I'm still a fan ... However I do intend on getting the alloys powder coated ... It's an odd feeling having it on the wheels ... Like your being a fake ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Never done it to be honest .. I sit quite far back so my elbow isn't anywhere near the hazard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah I noticed a few spots after I had removed the bags covering the callipers etc ... Fail !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Oh trust me mate I've missed a couple of bits ... Plan to give another 2 coats over the weekend to get full coverage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Some final pics ... Not sure if it's the dark wheels or not but got told "nice car" twice on the way home .. Once at the petrol station from an older gent and once at the shop when I was stopped to get milk and a few things ... Plasti dip has convinced me that I'd like the alloys powder coated if this doesn't last long so that's a plus Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Dream car ? Nope but it's an amazing car for 6k ... Dream car would be huge bhp skyline import 🙠Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. ^ yeah that's not ideal for that ... Unless your doing the whole car Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yeah guys in you tube have ran it over a year ... Any chips can be touched up with another coat ... All in it's cost me 50 quid so if it peels off in a few months or I get sick of it it's no issue really Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Wee close up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. 3 cans of black did the job for all wheels and the other bits ... Don't want to take it OTT ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Ok so I know this might not be to everyone's taste but I really like silver / white cars with black rims ... But I wanted to see if I liked the look on my own 350 .. Sooo I opted to go for plasti dip as it can be easy removed if I decide I'm not a fan / sell the car Studied You Tube on the best application and felt like It was within my ability level .... Just Over the moon with the results went on nice and smooth , still not decided if I'm adding the gloss . So as the car sits it's matt black Done the wheels , part of the front bumper and areal ( this was scabby) This is after 1 coat .. Very light second coat 4 coats in total so far if I'm not going gloss , I will add one more ... All thought and comments welcome good or bad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Most companies check a data base now .. So all that happens is the policy will get canceled they keep £50 for the cancelation and now you have a black mark on you for having a policy canceled due to none disclosure ... Best to disclose Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
