  1. Thanks I would have thought it would be quicker as i looked into taking the bumper off and you have to remove all the screws clips etc then disconnected the washers, I just thought i'd give this ago i'll take the bumper off one day and see which is quicker but for now i know this way and to be fair it was quite quick but i'd do it a lot quicker and easier next time now i know what I'm doing
  2. oooppps i should have put this in guides can someone move this there lol thanks
  3. Hello everyone, So as my title says how to change your headlight bulbs without taking the bumper off. I couldn't find anywhere on how to change the headlight bulbs without taking the bumper off and I searched everywhere on here and on google and everyone said you have to remove the front bumper I refused to believe the car would be designed like this lol. I'm sure lot's of you guys know this but I have only owned my Zed for a week . So this guide is for the people that have not long owned there Zed and those that like me don't want to remove the front bumper to change the bulbs and searched everywhere on the forum and internet that couldn't find how to change the headlight bulbs/side light bulbs without taking the front bumper off, and take less time doing so, as this took me 20-30 mins all together including changing bulbs both sides I would have been quicker but it was all guess work so next time now I know what to do I’d expect 15 mins easy. Here are my pictures and step by step guide. First I jacked the front of the car up and removed the front wheels, I'd expect you could do it with the wheels on full lock but it's much easier with them off IMO and that's what I did. In the upper inner arch you will see 3 plastic clips holding the inner arch together take them out first then undo 3 screws in and up under the wing, and the inner upper arch will come down a lot easier you don't need to take the arches off to do this just pull them down as you will see in the pictures. This is of the 3 plastic clips you have to pull off (careful not to break them) This is one of the 3 three screws you will have remove in the arch. Un tuck the inner arch and pull these three clips out this is where you took the 3 screws out from. You will have to pull the inner arches back and away from the wings as they are tucked in behind the wings and tucked in behind three plastic clips where you took the three screws out from you can take the three clips off (as pictured above) as it will make it a lot easier for you to pull the inner arches away from the wings. Now you have pulled the inner arches down you will be able to see the cover for the headlights. What I did was gentley place the inner arch under the suspension to stop it getting in my way. You will have to undo the cover of the headlights to pull it off, mine was fairly tight as it was properly never been off before if so a very long time ago. Now you can see the connection of the headlight bulb to the dipped beam bulb (pre facelift model) turn it to the left and it will come off nicely. Once you have taken the terminal off, you need to turn the terminal towards the left to do this, (as pictured below the terminal is off), you will have to push 2 clips inwards and pull them around the bulb, this is holding the bulbs in place to the light unit. Now pull the bulb out nice and carefully, note the way they come out as you will have to put the replacement bulbs in the same way else they won't clip back in correctly. Here you can see where the sidelight bulb is (pictured below) just turn to the terminal to the left to pull the sidelight unit out. Now put the replacement bulbs back in don't forget to put the clips around the bulbs on correctly and don't forget to put the cover back on over the headlight terminals, also make sure the O rings are in place correctly and not hanging off on the cover, you don't want your headlight unit to steam up . Don't forget to test the bulbs first before you put everything back together you don't want to put everything back and find out you have another faulty bulb or your new ones don't work . Now replace the inner arch back how you took it out tucking it in behind the wings don't forget to replace the three little plastic holders for the screws if you took them off. Replace the 3 plastic clips you first took off careful not break them, then screw back in the 3 screws I put some grease around them so next time they will be easier to get off and it will prevent them from rusting, put your wheels back on let the car down JOB DONE . Hope this guide helps some of you out. Thanks.
  4. Thanks everyone for your comments I have just paid for Japfest so hopefully will see and meet a lot of you there
  5. Hi, I have just got a 350z i have read above but i just wanted to double check is it still ok to put myself down for japfest, if i did it today and paid today/tomorrow? Thanks
  6. Hi, Guys as some of you Know my name is Brett I have been a member for a little while now and i was looking for a 06 rev-up 350z but i found a mint 04 blue 350z with under 60K miles FSH GT pack etc and real mint condition, and i knocked the chap down £500 on the day and he just had a full service of £395 a week before he put an ad up for it with new pads and front discs, so i thought bargain so i went and seen it and couldn't say no to it, so here are some pics of it now that i have spent the weekend giving the car a hard t-cut all over and a double coat of wax it shines like a beaut http://s1141.photobu...50z after T-CUT
  7. I seen it the other day on ebay it was bidding it had bids and it went up to over £5K and looks like it didn't sell he has relisted it with a fixed price now of much lower than the bids he got??? and now he has relisted it he hasn't mentioned why he has relisted it or that it didn't sell because of a time waster perhaps its ok but does seem really cheap for one with the GT pasck as well and an 05 but looking at the pictures i don't think it has been the most looked after zed looking at the engine bay then again never know it might be really good???
  8. that is true i see i can get the led rear lights on ebay for £170 incl postage, although i do like the head lights a bit more and front lip on the 06 not sure if you can get the headlights anywhere? Yeah i have i spoke to the chap yesterday, real nice guy just he lives in Manchester and I'm right at the bottom of Devon hell of a way to go, and at the moment i can't get there by car as I'd rather go up with someone rather than train not saying it won't but just in case it's not the car for me as these things happen and like i said it's a long way to go and come back empty handed if i can get someone to get me there i said i will give him a call during the week, so i'm gonna sweet talk the missus lol Check the details on the rear LEDS - it is highly unlikely they will be genuine Nissan for that price - they are around £280 from traders on here and until now that has been the cheapest. The ones available on ebay are usually crappy US ones. If you can get the seller to agree £7k or even bit less this is a good price for a mint Azure with that mileage - however make sure you test drive it from cold and pay attention to the changes from 1st to 2nd and in and out of 5th They aren't genuine nissan ones i couldn't find them. But the ones i seen are on ebay from america but i have seen them fitted on zeds on here so they do work but i will see what happens i will probably get the nissan ones for the extra money they are gonna be worth it. Thanks for the info that's a big help if i go up to see it i will take it for a test drives and see what the gear changes are like Thanks
  9. thats what I wanted now look at me :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Exactly what we all do, look for a "standard Zed" then mod it any way, i would seriously consider what mod's you might end up doing. It would be cheaper in the long run to buy a good car with some tasteful mods already done I actually wouldn't do any mods to a zed i have had loads of cars in the past and i keep them standard, i don't mind some mods just prefer standard that's all I'm not knocking anyone with a zed that has mods.
  10. Nice car you have there and good price hope it will go to a good home. I'm more after a zed that is standard though.

And yep coming back empty handed would suck. But a mint one is defo worth the travel on a train or plane :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I have just got back to the guy about something, hopefully my missus will take me there just would hate to get there and come back empty handed so i will see what the chap writes back with. They come up for sale now and again but are in the region of £350 to £500 per light. You can recoup some of that by selling your original "orange stripe" headlights, but you're still looking at a considerable outlay. Pete That is a lot of money that's why i think i would wait for an 06 to come along as i'd hate to settle and buy an older one then see an 06 next to me and me say to myself oh damn wish i waited for one now lol.

  13. Hey guys just seen a really good 350z for sale its blue has GT pack and looks immaculate it has done 62,000 miles 2 owners and FSH, but it's an 04 model when really i'd like the 06 up rev and i think i can get him down to £7000 which is a good buy for that? just wondering what i should do should i wait for an 06 (by the way my budget i have decided to increase to £8000 now ) or should i bite my lip and go for the 04 as the main reason i want the 06 is for the lights front and back the interior and the better clutch and gearbox that's it really, I'm really stuck here lol
  14. Thanks mate, yeah hopefully one will come along soon
  15. Not really they do pop up every so often as i said in my previous posts, i know it won't happen quick but something will come along i don't mind if i get the older 350z as long as it's a good car original and FSH thats what really matter to me Don't worry you haven't I'am still keeping my eye out for them hope one comes along soon
  16. That's good to know i knew there 350z rev-up ones that don't burn oil just some do, thanks for that though it has made me want the rev-up even more now
  17. Yeah I'm just keeping an eye out hopefully one will come around soon, or if someone see this post and replies to it , haha yeah not sure what i would change tbh i like them as they are lol
  18. Yeah i see the blue and orange do hold there price more, colour makes all the difference, i think he is asking alot as it has been up for sale a long time and he won't budge on the price he's a bit far away from me to go all the way there try to knock him down a bit with cash in his face lol he probably wouldn't say no but if he still says no i'll be paying all that then i'll come on here and someone will offer me a rev-up for that price so i think i'm just gonna wait it out for the right rev-up one to come along. Well I'm looking at private or trade doesn't bother me which ever car is best but the 350z i'm talking about is a private seller. Yeah they do seem really good cars I love my Japanese car's I've owned nothing but Japanese cars for over 6 years now i swear by them, all car's have there faults but if i get the rev-up it won't bother me if it uses oil as that is how that engine is and i'm aware of it so i'll just keep a close eye on it
  19. yes it is true I've got a 2006 rev up GT roadster and it loves oil :-) but I just keep checking it I wish I would off put more cash up and got a HR model . But I still love my car just need to check and top up ever 1000miles with 1 Lt . The problem could happen to any rev up manual from 2005 plus nissan never fixed it just changed the engine to the HR . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That's true i did read that, then again i check my oil most days of the week, but i did read somewhere on here someone saying that if your rev up uses i can't remember how much oil (but alot) in so many miles then they will either replace the engine if it's still under warranty or they will replace the piston rings as that was the problem with them that the oil bypassed that pistons rings IIRC. I have had my thoughts on buying a mint 2004 blue 350z with 62,000 miles with all extras and GT pack including cruise control, but he wants £7500 for it and may not budge on it and that is just as expensive as the rev-up, obviously more people are buying the older one's due to the tax and the fact they don't use oil. But really the main reasons i'm after the rev-up is for it's interior upgraged's (not much i know) but also the lights on the front and back, the gearbox is meant to be much quieter and the clutch is meant to be better, and gear changes smoother but i had my douts about worrying about all that and buying the blue 2004 zed i seen for sale
  20. sorry lol, though I'm after the blue as well, is that black zed yours on your profile picture? Looks nice Nice one, Do you know what colour it is? Thanks Brett, yep that is mine, still wondering whether to sell it or not.Just moved over to Germany full time, Snow can be an issue in the Eifel so thinking about a Nissmo Duke or something a bit taller.lol Haha Yeah i think you need something a bit taller too the front of a 350z would be like a snow plow lol Hi Thanks, Not necessarily, I do see them pop up with that price and less quite often, just I had my car at the time so I wasn't looking to buy, I missed one for sale down in Penzance last week which was the sunset with all the extras and that sold for £6900 in the end, and it only had 60,000 miles on it and it was mint, so they do come up in the blue or orange but then they don't stay on sale for long but now i have cash in my hand ready i wont miss another , I'm not in a rush to buy so I'm sure one will pop up like that one last week sooner or later, might get someone looking for a quick sale Ah right shame as i'm not really after black, sorry to anyone who has a black zed but it just isn't the colour i'm looking for in a zed.
