can you still drive your car whilst you are switching to a private plate?
N12omc replied to ostego's topic in 350Z General
Just put mine on today, Dvla were pretty quick getting everything through, less than 2 weeks. Once the new mot cert and tax disc arrive you can put your new plates on. I removed the front number plate holder too Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Recommendations for exterior black plastic revival
N12omc replied to Randy_Baton's topic in Car Detailing
Sorry to jumo in on an aging thread, but i'm a huge fan of Peanut Butter to actually lift contaminents and polish residues etc rather than just hiding them only so they return after a few showers. Apply, scuff with an old toothbrush, rinse even leaves a waxy finish that water beads and runs off. Personally I use a detailing spray as a finale too. Having read others comment on the GTec stuff I may give it a go myself as its the only thing being mentioned I have yet to give a go -
Bristol seems a funny place? Some very friendly waves as we pass, but like you I don'e get much spotted action here either. Im the other end of the ring road

I'm between Bristol and Bath all the time, the Z owners around here mostly give a wave. It's not something I expected when I bought the car, but gladly participate and love the idea of mutual appreciation Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Finally sorted mine this week. I hope you are sorted now too? It wasn't too bad in the end Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

So today I braved the 2006 with Bose and sat nav for a head unit replacement. I've had the fascia and bose adapter for a few weeks now and been trying to get all the information to do it. It took 6 hours, and some back and forth to the ipad, but the end result is spot on. The only thing I haven't beaten is the steering wheel controls, my adapter has the parts, but I wasn't up to working it out today. There are loads of screws and obviously I had a few left over by the end too. Not as bad as I thought overall Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I've just come home the wheel specialist in Cardiff, awesome job and great team of guys too. Competitive prices if you talk nicely to them and you'll get exactly the right finish Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Parts have started to arrive, looks like a job for next weekend can't wait to get this one sorted. If I get it sorted maybe there's a market for me to get in to, lol

Our first proper drive up through the Welsh hills, we even found some snow -
Well I have now committed to do the job myself. Ordered fascia and bose compatible adapter kit after finding an online guide. I am so fussy over this stuff I think I'd rather do it myself anyway. Just need everything to arrive, then a quiet day. I'll let you know how it goes

New car, old head unit, dont mind buying the adaptors and fascia, and always do this myself too. But have the Sat NAv system and all seems a nightmare job to swap HU over? As i'm Bristol based I am also keen to see who can help out so will follow this thread myself

New car tax rules, and monthly DD from October could be a godsend on a 2006!! And no tax disc means clear windscreen too. Loving this bit of news

Thanks all, not having a middle initial doesnt help when playing the number plate game. Think the personal rather than car approach is the way to go so rellay appreciate your comments. Will see what I can find that fits, and looks sensible. Watch this space

I always use Pipercorss replacement panel filters and stock air boxes with good flow from genuine outside air rather than warm/hot air from the engine bay. Like HKS they are not repliatnt on oil so help avoid nasty additions to the system, but also help maximise flow at the right revs (3-4000).

Can anyone recommend an alloy wheel refurb and refinish in Bristol? I want to it properly, wheels look ok but on close inspection are starting to go. Have the 18" Rays 6 spoke, and also considering a new finish. My mate has had a dark chrome done to his Gallardo Superlegerra which looks awesome, but don't want to go too 'bling' Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
