  1. Cool. I am interested but want to see if my insurance will allow it and also the difference it makes to a stock exhaust. If you have any videos please send them my way otherwise I'll have to wait for a local meet and hope someone has berks with a stock exhaust.

    Thanks

  2. Where is Marcus based? Is Marcus top hooker?

It was a private sale kind of but paid by credit card since the seller has a mot garage. I've got protection with my credit card company (thank god! I'm just lucky I paid by credit card). I would be happy if I knew what was wrong with the car. I don't want to keep booking it in and it doesn't resolve the issue don't have cash extra just now

  3. :( I'm well gutted tbh. Was happy about getting a new car and this has just totally spoilt my day :(

The cars done 27,000 miles and new pads were put on 1500 miles ago the seller said. Of course the seller is denying knowing anything about this which I find hard to believe.

If it's disks then I can replace them. If it's hub that's a lot more expensive!

  4. Hey

So I sealed the deal on a Le Mans blue 370z. Lovely car and lovely previous owner. Took it for a test drive and I was so caught up trying to listen out for the gearbox that I hardly noticed the slight steering wobble when braking.

It's annoying since I should have said something during the rear drive- I thought it may have just been the road surface or tramlining of the tyres but after my 10 hour drive home (crazy!!) I realised that the steering wheel and brake pedal does pulsate/ wobble when braking gently.

I'm thinking this may mean the disks are not sitting true or it may mean that the disks may be warped?

Any ideas? I want to try and find out ASAP and I'm thinking of taking it to nissan or infinity Glasgow today and ask them to check. Would they charge for a check and estimate on the work?

    Thanks

  5. Thanks for advice.

So the problems with gearboxes was it a certain year or kind? I assume there is not a guarantee that if I do get a dodgy gearbox that if I find one on eBay that won't be dodgy either? Is there things I can do to maintain the gearbox so problems don't arise?

    Thanks

  6. Hey

    I'm

Wondering if anyone has taken out a warranty with a 3rd party company like warranty direct or warranty wise?

I'm just thinking in advance in case this car I go to see needs a gearbox replaced?

Quotes seem to be around 750-950 per year but I'm not sure if a full gearbox change will be covered. It does have a list but it may just be parts of the gearbox:

    Gearbox:

(including automated manual gearboxes, automatic gearboxes, four wheel drive transfer gearboxes, hybrid transaxles, manual gearboxes and transaxles.)

Automatic transmission brake bands & clutches & modulator valves, drive chains, gearlever, gears, hydraulic gear-shift governors & internal servos & valve blocks, internal bearings & bushes, oil pumps, selector forks, shafts (all, including extension shafts), synchromesh hubs and rings and torque converter.

  7. Good you getting it sorted now. Are you sorting it at macklins in darnley? They are a high performance centre and around the corner from me!

I'm picking up a car on Friday from South Wales so if would love to be able to meet you before then and seen what a gearbox should feel like. It's a 2009 plate I'm going for and I don't want to walk away with a car which requires a gearbox change!

  8. This will sound silly but where did you fit it? Did you remove the stock screen? So have you lost sat Nav in the car?

I want to get a reverse camera and better sound when I get my car but seems around about £400 to get a reverse camera installed on the 2009 370z so maya swell get a compete after market unit.

  9. Hey

I'm a bit nervous about collecting this car lol. Not too sure what to look for or check. The buying guide seems to be only for the 350z :s

Does anyone have any pointers for what I should look for so I don't get a dog of a car? It's had 3 previous owners which ain't great but also ain't so bad I guess. I can get under the car too so any advice on what to see.

Also how can I tell if it's been totally ragged?

Thanks in advance. Feeling nervous! Eeek!

  10. Not with hids unfortunately if they are factory options. They have sensors to check what angle the front of the car is pointing and they adjust automatically. Eg if you have a lot if stuff in he boot and it pushes the nose up the lights will angle down so they don't glare anyone

  11. Thanks guys.

The place I'm buying the car said they will do the next service just now. Turns out p3 has been done but no belts were in the invoice.

    What does DE stand for?

Yes that was for two filters. Do we only have 1 in our 370's? I thought it would be two?

Lastly nissan said the pulleys need to be changed too... Is that true and what ones are they referring to?

    Thanks

  12. Hey

I spoke to nissan Glasgow and they said a P3 requires 2 belts to be changed and that's why it's expensive. However when I look at the service manual the P3 doesn't say anything about replacing belts. It's just inspect and tighten?

Can anyone clarify please? The car I'm buying has not had the belts changed in its last P3 so should I get them done in its upcoming P1?

Also for servicing do people tend to use genuine nissan parts or do you upgrade your parts for aftermarket ones?

Such as air filter? I seen a piper cross one for £77? Is that much better than the standard one?

    Thanks
