I currently own a HR 350z and have been thinking of buying a 370z for a while now, never been keen on the HR's gearbox, always thought the shifts are long, clunky and heavy and both cars share the same CD009 gearbox unfortunately.

How do owners find the automatic paddle shift gearbox ? What is it like in flappy paddle mode and to live with on a daily basis, daily driving ? Seen an article in Evo magazine from a while back saying it's the one to go for as the manual gearbox is agricultural at best !

Looking at post 2012 models so I don't get stung with the gallery gasket issue again, any other known common faults with the 370z I should be aware of ?

Thanks for any help or info given.

Where about sin Yorkshire are you?  You’re more than welcome to have a test drive in my auto to see what you think

Looking around for a reliable and lower lead time source of decent quality carbon GT style wing mirrors, and I was wondering...

Does anyone know if the triangle base plates and bolts the same between Z33 and Z34?

Z34 compatible carbon GT wing mirrors are far more easily found it would seem.

No, the bolt patterns are not the same, although there’s not much difference. I made some Z33 base plates fit mine (see build thread) but not sure about the ones you mention

  3. Hi Jack, there’s too many unknowns to give you a definitive answer here. Could be a number of things, incorrectly wired up, faulty equipment etc etc.  What is your definition of ‘lack of bass’, perhaps they’re all performing correctly but you were expecting more? You should take it to someone local to you who can have a look (maybe someone on here can help with that). The set up you’ve got there should give a reasonable sound if installed correctly

And I vowed prior to collection that I wasn't going to spend anything beyond maintenance on this one but you know how it is....

First of all, welcome to the forum Good answer, well presented. 370z life.

Secondly - that’s what we all say . Zedtitis takes hold pretty quickly!

  5. I’ve not had my 370 done but recently had my evoque done (2.2 diesel) and saw quite a decent improvement - 15bhp / 35Nm increase and improved driveability, too early to say if fuel economy has improved much. It’s a friend who does this and he’s getting a lot of local business (North East) through word of mouth as, on the face of it, hydrogen cleaning does appear to work

There are certainly some good arguments from both sides. I've only ever owned one car that was an automatic, but it was old and I will admit, the automatic gearbox on it was dire. My view changed though when a friend took me for a drive in their 14 plate Audi TT black edition. It was so responsive and the automatic gearbox was fantastic. Still, all these arguments could be irrelevant anyway. As a couple people on here have said, the Nismo version only comes with a manual gearbox.

Hence the reason you need to drive both. The dual clutch auto box in Audi’s is light years ahead of the agricultural auto in the Zed! My 370 is an auto, and whilst it is ok in town driving it can be very slow to change (even when being asked to change by using the paddles) when pushing on a bit. I found it so frustrating that I installed a sprint booster which improved it considerably

hi, dave are you still modding that white car for me, my two favourite cars at the moment are my yellow one and yours, maybe I should buy yours for my wife as its an auto?

Hi mate, how you doing? Ha ha, can’t knock you for persIstence . No, not done anything to it for a while, tbh it hasn’t been out of the garage for months, have had other things on the go - including a grandchild which is time consuming! I almost feel like I need to have a drive up to Glasgow one day so you (and your wife) can have a look in the flesh

  8. Not sure about the Ecutek (sure someone will confirm) but I’ve had software like this on other cars. A ‘normal’ mode, ‘performance’ mode, the one with the Rev limiter is usually a ‘valet mode’ to restrict the revs when the car is in for service etc (to prevent over zealous mechanics taking it for a thrash ;)) - although 5k is a bit high, normally set around 3k, and finally an immobiliser setting where the engine can start but won’t fuel so won’t drive

  9. I bought a delonghi magnifica after seeing the one at work being used and abused at work  (by dozens of people) for 2 years and not working faultlessly. Great little machine, even has steam facility for capuchino lovers. The only slight criticism I’d say is that it’s quite noisy when grinding the beans, not the end of the world tho

Hey, I've just joined and got my first HR. Is there any regular meets up the Teesside way (as I've just moved up here) or only what's planned on here. Be great to see some more zeds

Hi Ben, welcome . There’s usually a few meets throughout the year at Falcon Performance in Middlesbrough

    And yet, still no.

Personal choice Dan :). Out of curiosity, do you not like GTR’s or just don’t like the idea of a raffle?

How's he getting on with it ?

    That was a awesome win

I know people that have a go but I'm not into 100 quid raffle tickets myself I'm to tight lol

Am I misunderstanding something here? He didn’t win it, he’s raffling it. He’s only getting rid of it as he’s bought a drag car project and wants to use the funds for that
