  1. It is amazing that you can send up soemthing the size of a washing up liquid bottle attached to a garden cane and let it fall on people property.

About 3 years ago on bonfire night I found a Chinese Lantern no more than 50 yards from my house :scare:. There's been a couple of incidents in Flintshire, a farmers barn burnt down and one landed on a house 2 miles away that caused some light fire damage.

    Pete

Have those things not been banned now, I could understand a few years ago thinking those things are safe but with all the publicity nowadays anyone who sends one up should be prosecuted, so dangerous.

  2. Am not decided on what to get, my youngest lad is trying to persuade me into a Merc CLS and I have to say I have always really admired them, just fancy a wafter, also, for what they are they seem pretty good value.

  3. J4CKO there is nothing wrong with a Zed being an import and auto dude , read a bit about Zed known issues and will understand a bit more ;)

for your info I did own both manual and auto so know a bit why I affirm the above

I think his point is that imports and autos are worth less

Yeah, nothing against them, was just listing the factors that seem to be common to zeds at the cheaper end of the price range, I am selling mine and my next car will be an auto !

  4. Yeah, You see a cheap looking one and its usually been ruined with some dodgy mods, is an import, high mileage, automatic or Cad C/D, decent UK GT's with sensible miles seem to still attract high prices, not sure what they sell for though.

I think, if you want something that isnt in the list above, entry level is six grand for most offered.

Wondering what mine is worth, will advertise it when I have accrued enough (non spamming) posts :)

  5. Think you will be ok, I am a bit anal about it having seen my brother in law take a 2 year old BMW from pristine to a wreck with a knocking bottom end inside two years due to not checking the oil, mine has never really needed much more than a tiny drop on a couple of occasions, you get into a routine with them never really check the little Citroen we have as it has never, ever used any and a replacement engine is £250 off Ebay.

  6. Strange, I have an XKR and it's still in the garage at the rear of the house, my latest addition 03 plate 350Z sits on the drive now and gets used most days. Even on a long run I prefer the Z even though the Jag does go well and grips when you giving it some large and I'm 57 years young. Too many choices now.

Thats lovely, you need to sell it to me at a competitive price :D

  7. If it were my money, I'd be looking at a Merc instead, probably a CLK55 or similar. Far better drive, better engine, more grunt, won't make you look 75 when driving it ;)

Not known for their reliability, but certainly not going to be any worse than a Jag of that era for sure! My Mum runs a 3.2 X308 which is very wafty, and Rich from here had the equivalent engine in an XKR which was nice enough to waft around in but felt lacking in personality to me.

    The car, not Rich.

Will have a look at the CLK55 as well, do quite like those.

  8. I've had that urge for a while now, not helped that there was a black 05 XKR for sale around the corner a while back. My main issue was the potential for huge bills once they start getting a bit older. Would need deep pockets I reckon if you get a 10 year car had ended up being problematic.

Am doing my homework and would only buy one that has had the usual issues like the valley pipes dealt with.

  9. Rays are excellent wheels and personally I think they look really good on the Z with the matching door handle dots etc. The only time I'd change is if I went stupid power and needed something wider for grip reasons.

Agreed, short of Rota Grids, there isnt really a wheel I prefer on Zeds, a lot look over the top or too blingy.
