  1. Went on holiday to the States in the summer with my twin brother (and we didn't end up killing each other!). Highlight was going to the Twins Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio. The largest annual gathering of Twins in the world! (Just under 2 000 sets of twins this year). Weird seeing so many twins in one place and for once not being the odd one out for being with someone that looks just like you!

  3. Went to a grammar school were going to university was seen as the be all and end all and no other post school options were ever really discussed. Like most from my school I went to university (Cardiff) and hated it and ended up dropping out midway through the second year after getting a job as a projectionist (sadly now longer required after the digital revolution). Ended up working several years in low paid retail jobs after that before getting my current job. If I could rewind the clock I'd definitely choose to learn a trade rather than go to university. There are more people going to University than there are jobs that actually require having a degree these days. When I was earning minimum wage in the retail sector I worked with plenty of people with degrees who couldn't find a graduate job. I have also seen job adverts that state applicants must have a degree when the job itself really doesn't require one, I guess because so many people are coming out of university. However I would say there is a shift going on in some sectors towards skills rather than education. I work as civilian staff in the Police at the moment and they are far more interested in people being able to evidence things like communication, problem solving and team working skills than whether you have a degree or not.

  4. Joined the A38 (dual carriage way) out of Plymouth this morning and some t##t in a Mondeo ST was behind me, we both pulled into the outside lane to overtake slowly traffic and quickly got stuck behind a car in the outside lane going barely faster than the traffic in the inside lane. I leave a sensible gap between myself and the car in front but Mondeo man is obviously in a hurry to get somewhere and proceeds to drive about an inch off my back bumper, as if that is somehow going to make the car in front of me go faster. Decided if he wants to drive into the back of someone's car, it can be someone else's (better he crashes into something that isn't a Zed!), so pulled over and let him past then pulled back out behind him. He then proceeded to drive about an inch off the back of the car I was initially stuck behind for about half a mile before he pulled into the inside lane and off the dual carriage way! Couldn't believe it, all that and he was only going a mile down the road :scare:

  5. Parent's neighbour once knocked on their door wanting some advice. One of his tenants had died two months previously of a drugs overdose and at the time of his death owed a few months rent. He asked if they thought enough time had passed to send the tenant's dad a letter chasing the rent as the father was the guarantor!

  6. Closest I've ever had to being in an RTC was the weekend I picked my Zed up! Collected it on the Saturday and being rather excited took it out for another drive on the Sunday. On the way back home approached a roundabout on a stretch of dual carriage way. Left hand land you could turn left or go straight on and the right hand land was straight on only. Approach in the right hand land and there's an old lady driving some generic soccer wagon in the left hand lane. We both pull onto the roundabout but rather than stay in the left hand lane and actually go around the roundabout she just drives straight on ending up straddling the two lanes and misses colliding with me by about a millimetre after I slammed on the brakes. Glad I was in the Zed rather than the Fiesta it replaced, as that wouldn't have stopped in time! Was one positive that came out of it though! Got to test the horn for the first time

  7. Some  has managed to bump the passenger side skirt causing it to split and not had the decency to own up so looking for a replacement. Looking to keep it the cost down as car insurance is up for renewal this month as well (otherwise I would have used it as an excuse to get some after market skirts!) post-19872-0-08572200-1380670695_thumb.jpg

  8. Hello! New 350Z owner in Plymouth. Had the car a couple of months now and it's my first foray into owning a fast car having been driving a 1.3L Fiesta before this. Bought a 54 plate GT spec model with no mods. So far all I've done is stick a private plate on it as despite my username, at a spritely 25, any modding will have to wait until I'm up to a full 5 years no claims (does give me a couple of years to save up!). Until then the step up from the Fiesta is enough to keep me going!!!
