  1. Did one in South Wales a couple of years ago, enjoyed it but it is pricey! Lots of similar and cheaper options about (that don't go for the brand name like tough mudder!). Supposed to be running the Bristol to Bath marathon at the end of October but been working to much O/T and not enough training recently. Then time to start planning next years challenges.

  5. Another disappointed public sector worker here. Although by the time the next general election rolls round I will probably be working for G4S once the wicked witch Theresa May has had her way. The Tories managed to get all three seats in the Plymouth area which is a little surprising given Plymouth's military history and the Tories determination to wreck the armed forces. Was close but the Conservatives beat Labour by about 600 votes in my constituency.

  6. After two years of Zed ownership finally getting round to a little bit of modding! Motordyne plenum spacer arrived yesterday and Weapon R Dragon air intake on order from the States. Communication from Adrian has been great keeping me up to date on the order, couldn't have asked for better service. As excited as a child in the build up to Christmas waiting for the air intake to make its way over here! Hopefully be a link to a build thread coming soon!!!!

  7. Obviously the time of year to get Zeds MOT'd. Mine passed with no faults at the start of the month :) celebrated by buying a plenum spacer and air filter so really didn't save much £££££££!!!!

  8. Used Alamo when I was in the States last year. Service and price were both good, car was rubbish though! (Dodge Avenger)

what class did you pick also ive been reading with allamo you get to choose out of the cars in stock you dont get given one

Can't remember the class, car was a fairly large saloon and well priced for what it was. To be fair was fine for what I needed it for, large boot, air con and all the mod cons, just let down by the worst automatic gearbox I've had the misfortune of driving. Engine had plenty of power but never let you use it!

  9. Suspect if they didn't provide their details the driver at least would have found himself in the back of van an off to custody till it could be proven who he was and that he had a driving licence. Sadly, the idiot with the camera is able to selectively edit the footage to try and make the officers look stupid. What you never see in these videos is how the situation ends, which is usually with the person being arrested and in a much worse situation than they would have been! And for those moaning about Police going after motorists, firstly, don't forget that police officers are motorists too and secondly, surely it's a good thing if it helps keep our Zeds safe on the road!

  10. Last day off for me today before I am back into work for 6 days tomorrow. On the plus side, extra pay for working Christmas and boxing day and the I'm supposed to be off over New Year and bagged some overtime as well. The extra pennies have already been earmarked for some new tyres as the rears are down to legal minimum and it's got its MOT coming up in the new year.

  11. Highlight of my year was a holiday to the States with my twin brother. Never done a big holiday before (last time I left the UK was a school trip to France in the early 00's!) so was a completely new experience for me. Apart from watching an obscene amount of baseball the two main highlight we're ringing the church bells at Washington Cathedral and attending the Twins Festival, the largest annual gathering of twins in the world (http://www.twinsdays.org).

Thankfully no major low points other than spending a fortune on the holiday so having no money left to spend on the Zed. Hopefully be able to find some change down the back of the sofa to start rectifying that in 2015.

what have been your stand out Zed related moments of 2014?

My bad! Should have paid more attention to first post and not the thread title. My post does mention my Zed though. It's not really had any highlight this year, other than getting a shiny new gear knob. Haven't even racked up much mileage in it :-( think I've spent most my time behind the wheel driving up and down the A38 between Plymouth and Exeter moaning that it's only two lanes and swearing at the driver in the outside lane doing 61mph to overtake the vehicle doing 60mph in the inside lane.

  12. Sadly plenty of people do fall for this type of thing. One of the biggest scams this year has been one were the scammer phones pretending to be a police officer from the Met Police saying they have someone in custody for using a cloned bank card for your account and then ask questions to get your bank details. Some of them even ask you to withdraw a sum of money from your account as part of the investigation and then send a courier round to pick up the cash.

One case in the South West were an elderly lady fell for this scam and then a few months later was scammed again when they again pretended to be Police officers this time saying they had caught the culprits from the first time and had her money back for her. If memory serves me correctly they stole over £80k from her over the two occasions.
