  1. I paid £545 (for all 4) with fitting and balance last summer and it was good deal then. If stocks are low then I guess they've gone up.

I got mine through Asda tyres, yes that Asda. They have a 10% code thats been running for years - enter 140 then 7 random digits.

Thanks Randy. Did you have to prove you were an ASDA employee or anything when you paid? The code works and knocks a fair bit off. Thank you

  2. Flat rear tyre this morning on one of my MPSS, I took it for a puncture repair and he said that its not repairable as its a long split/cut, maybe drive over some sharp metal.

Anyhow. Looking to get the pair replaced. He quoted £194 each fitted for the MPSS and said it was because the MPS4S are replacing them but they are not released in my size yet (245/45/18). Also they are in Germany so would take 10days. When i bought them last they were way less..........

    642310115 Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245/45 ZR18 100Y XL, FSL Quantity 2 £109.08

    Price excluding VAT : £218.15

Has anyone who has recently bought MPSS know where they are reasonably priced please?

  3. For Christmas I treated my Zed to new oil (Shell Helix Ultra Professional AG 5W30 Fully Synthetic), new oil Filter and 2x new Gates belts. I also got a full set of stainless steel clips U-Clips and Stainless bolts for the under-tray and bumper fixing.

I put the front up on ramps, the other half was going out so to be double sure I put a couple of axel stands just loose underneath.

Everything went great, belts replaced, oil changed, I then drilled and repaired/replaced the 14 under-tray bolts and clips, i even got the lip spoiler to clip right up again the bottom of the bumper. So I finally reversed back down off the ramps and heard a loud crunching sound. Stupidly I had left the axel stands underneath!!!

The one side is scratched and creased but you cant see it from the front, the other side has a tennis ball sized dent down to the black plastic and lots of fold marks where the stand squashed it. How stupid! It still completely drivable and nothing I can see damaged underneath.

    Options now I guess are:

    1) Replace the bumper like for like. (Gun-metal pre facelift)

    2) Replace with facelift bumper

    3) Get the Nismo V2 that I've always wanted.

    4) See if it can be repaired and sprayed, but its not in the best shape.

I've wanted a V2 Nismo replica since day one but its always been an extra luxury to fork out on.

What would you guys do? What do you think would be most cost effective?

Hey stop trying to steal my job I do stupid with ramps and axle stands ETC

    :)

Thanks mate, glad your ok! I always worry about being squashed as the Z is lowered and there wouldn't be much breathing room under there!!

  4. Ouch, but what i cant figure out is why the axel stands are under the front bumper? Surely u would of had them under the jacking point on the side???

They were placed under the lower arms on either side. They were just placed underneath incase the ramps failed. When I reversed they got dragged out of the front.

  7. Thanks flyboy, It was the end amount of one 5litre bottle and just under half of a new one. So around there. Will be checking weekly now. .. bit embarrassed.......

The oil light didn't ever come on and I think I had about 2litres in there.

Hope I'm ok ! I'm going to be paranoid now... Would tell tail signs be oil burnt in exhaust smoke?

  8. Thank you all, I've been out in the dark with a torch as the car is cold......I was told by the guy that did my old cars MOT always check after a run as the oil will be warm and I get an accurate reading!!!!!! He was the dipstick!!! I've got a reading and It was near low so I've topped up to the top of the grooved area with cheap 10w40 SS. I've got a full service coming up soon I hope it will be ok.

Is up to the F ok? I wasn't supposed to fill to the middle or anything was I?

As it was near the "L", if it was dangerously low would I have had a light on the dash? Or a low reading of the oil pressure gauge? worried now....

    Thanks again all!!

  9.

I know dipsticks have been discussed loads, but every search I've found seems to be trouble getting the dipstick back in or seated properly.

I just can't get a reading from it! I wipe it clean with a cloth and when I take it out I have oil all the way up from tip to the middle. I've tried pulling it out at different angles and rotations, even tried to pull it out like that game without it touching the sides!!! But it's still all the way up the stick. I know it's not overfilled.

Is there a secret to getting a good ready please?
