  1. Good evening everyone, I'm after some advice on a couple of things. I brought my house last September, all of the houses on my side of the road have a pathway around 2 metres wide that runs across the back of the gardens.

This pathway had been used for access for the old allotments that no longer exist, Houses have now been built on the land.

The pathway is now in a mess and has not been used for around 15 years. (Blocked with weeds and brambles)

On my HM land registry plan which shows my boundaries it states the part of pathway directly behind my garden is owned by myself and the same for each neighbour.

It has written that the pathway/access way must be kept clear by myself and the rest of the houses owning the section directly behind there gardens so that access can be gained to the allotments (which remember no longer exist)

Where do I stand with clearing this land directly behind my garden and fencing it off so it is then within my garden?

I'm not sure where to go next as this land is obviously not owned by the council.

None of my neighbours have cleared the area's behind there gardens and done what I am proposing to do. I have asked a either side of me and they are also not sure where they stand with this even though they confirmed that we do own the land.

    Thanks :)

  2. Haha thanks for comments everyone! Unfortunately the battery won't take a charge... So next week il get a new one ordered.

Have the oil, new filters waiting to go on!

It will be staying original :)

  3. My father in law was given this mk1 from his auntie about 6 years ago. It has done 40,000 miles from new. Not a spot of rust on it.

It's been sat in a dry but disused garage for the last 5-6 years.

I have now been tasked with getting it road worthy again ready for some summer fun.

Anyway here are a couple of photos I got of it tonight while I was removing the battery in hope I could revive it with a charge.

  4. Great to know, what was done to the car in the end ?

Oil gallery gaskets replacement with revised gaskets from Nisaan.

Front timing chain cover has to come off and timing chain.

Forgot to mention how clean the workshop is! Everything in its place! Il definitely be going back :)

  5. Just a message to say thanks very much to Sly and the rest of the team at Kaizer motors.

Recently had issues with my 2008 zed showing low oil pressure, after some research and a chat with Sly we decided it would be a good idea to look at the oil gallery gaskets on the rear timing chain cover.

    These are known to fail.

Got the car back last night. Sly picked me up from the local train station as I'm about 80 miles away in bedford.

Outstanding service at a great price!

    Thanks again!

  6. Are up rated gaskets available?

Maybe I'm just getting paranoid but my pressures do seem a bit low. However, I haven't noticed a knock on effect from it, and I meticulously check my oil level weekly.

There doesn't seem to be a clear cut answer though, as I see so many people say that it needs looking at, and just as many saying forget the pressures, level is more important, as long as the guage is doing something, then it's fine.

Yes nissan upgraded the gaskets and they now have a metal core. The part number has also changed.

  7. Confirmed today the gaskets on my 08 HR had failed.

This engine has full nissan service history and is on 70,000.

If you are experiencing low oil pressure on idle (around 10-15 psi on in car gauge) this is most likely your problem. Oil pump failures on the HR's are very very rare I'm led to believe. Il try and upload some pictures of the failed gaskets.

Out of interest, what's it going to cost to put it right?

As mentioned above its fairly labour intensive. I think the book time from nissan is about 10 hours.

A specialist garage would obviously be cheaper than taking it to nissan and would certainly do a much better job.

  9. Just reading this post, strange how the majority say the m3 is a quicker car in a straight line..

I recently had a go in a mates one (e46 smg) the cars where almost identical in straight line performance mine being a HR zed.

I do agree with other points though the m3 is definitely a more comfortable car to drive and has superior build quality!

What do you mean, it's strange? It's true! lol

I've done a 30-130 in my HR Zed next to my brother's E46 M3 (SMG Coupe) - the M3 won by about 5 car lengths.

Ha see that's a significant difference if you ask me! When we did this it was more like half a cars length.

  11. I had the same problem a few weeks ago found out that it was one of the vents behind the black foam in the boot. The seals seem to be made of a foam type of material which brakes easily. They are easy to replace just pull them out and put new seal in. Zmanalex supplied mine for me. Cheap fix as well!

    This^^

It will most probably be those that are leaking. I found that they are actually a renault part number. I got new ones for £25.00 all in. I think nissan wanted about £49 each.
