  1. I am getting some for the rear in a couple months once I have finished the bits I am working on now and going for Eibach seem really well rated and solid quality. As suggested above some bits you don't want to skimp on don't want ya wheels flying off :)

  2. Apparently "correct me if wrong" your only allowed to have a single set of indicators on the front and side and they have to be a minimum height from the ground. Using the reflectors as indications would put them too low and result in your having two sets of indications on the front.

Tempted to give it a go anyway but don't want to have to take them out and do it again....

  3. Hi all,

So I have decided to build the above myself "have a go" more fun and cheaper than buying some of the ones i have seen on ebay, anyway I am actually going to take a slightly different approach to others in that I am going to try "i may fail" and install both white and orange LEDs so that the reflectors come on with side lights but also act as indicators.

I have been taking a look at the build thread on here (http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/64303-how-to-create-led-bumper-reflectors/) which has been really helpful and am pulling a materials list together and plan a trip to maplin later today/tomorrow.

I was just wondering Can any of you recommend what LED's to use? I did find a thread a week ago discussing this but for the life of me i cannot find it, been searching for a while now and thought i would ask.

    Thanks

    Stephen

  4. I am no car snob but it's an Astra..... Spend the extra money and get something better!!! That money would be going on a 370z if it where me

    +1. :)

I love cars, honestly all cars, everything has its own merits but it would have to be something seriously special to get that style of cleaning!

Something special like our Zeds :)

  5. Always heard ppl say Avons are cheap and nasty but you both seem happy it will be replacing all 4 before she goes back on the road and had discounted these but It seems that are not too bad how do they stack up on price and in compareison to others

  6. Thanks everyone.

It was applied in thin coats did about 3 "maybe too many" TBH never used plastikote before so I guess it's a learning curve. Was expecting an end result like my wiper arms but I guess I used normal paint on them.

Gonna strip it down and start again and if that fails they are getting dipped!!

  7. I 2nd it not liking being sanded however i am sure i read a thread on here where someone did...

TBH, the piece in the pic is still peeling when you pick it... Not looked at the other one yet that i painted with a coat of black as its still in the garage but i am tempted to rub this right down and start again but next time not bother sanding

  8. Hi all,

I had a go at doing my switch covers as they had a good few scuffs and scratches however its gone a little wrong and I need some pointers/help.

Both sides where sanded down and washed came out smooth as a baby bottom as was happy with the result so moved on to primer I use plasti-kote primer and applied as directed, leaving time in between coats then i took it in the house to sand down ready for painting "was doing them in my garage"

A good 40mins was left after last coat before i touched them, when i started to sand it down using 1200 wet/dry some of the paint was pealing off rather than it going into a dust as you would expect i also caught my finger on a few parts and the primer came off completely, the drivers side wasnt too bad so i decided to give it a coat of black and its drying now will see how it comes out...

Here are some pics "sorry they are big", any ideas why this has happened, i am wondering if the paint didnt dry fully? also i suspect i have to sand it back down and start again what ya think?
