Hi all, When i picked up my z last weekend i had it on the lift quickly after to give it the once over all was very well considering the age of the car however what i can only describe as a rear bracket/strut was a little damaged, looks like it was caught on something at some point all pipes and everything ok just this bracket. Looking to replace and waxoil the underside before winter and just wondering 1. what is the name of this part and 2. any cheap places to source? Have highlighted the part on the attached image. Will give that a go when i get it back from the service tomorrow... If it stops it what does that mean?

It doesn't feel like one, its almost as if the revs are dropping too low and it recovers but the rpm stays solid... She has just been picked up now to have a service tomorrow so we will see if any different if not i will take a closer look myself at the weekend when i can get her in the garage

Just wanted to say a final thanks to evryone for the advise and welcome along with a pic of my new Z, had her a week now and covered in all kinds of crap but the detailing supplies have been stocked so just need some good weather now to get her sparkling. Ended up getting a cracking deal and due to an error the dealer made i also got a free service in the mix which isn't too bad Anyway thanks again

Hi Guys, Quick questions from a newbie who is loving his Z... So from cold she starts and idles fine and its nice and smooth when ticking over however after driving for a little while as she warms up "am i crazy to refer to my Z as a she?" you can notice a faint blip/shake in the engine as its idling however the rpm stays solid, i have manually increased the revs every so slightly and it goes away which is making me think the idle is a little slow however it looks like its about where it should be according to what i have just read... Any thoughts and suggestions? Stephen

Spoke to dvla today. Apparently if you have your plate on retention and want to assign you can do this in the local branch however if you want to transfer from one car to another it has to go to Swansea.

Thanks guys. Was more of a mod then what else I can put in it . Thinking of fitting a USB hub/ connector in its place for the head unit

I also want a carputer Ideally mount my iPad mini in the cubby but without some fabrication it any gonna happen I don't think so looking for easier alternatives

Hi all, Just wondering what ppl have mounted in the cubby, I picked mine up today and noticed a bracket had been fitted inside the cubby at the back along with a garmin charger. I don't have a garmin but I do I have an iPad mini and iPhone and would like to mount them in the cubby but struggling to find a mount/holder, anyone done this or have any ideas. Also what's the biggest thing u have mounted in the cubby?

I collected my Z today and mentioned to the dealer. By year end all dvla office will be closed except Swansea. Gonna be fun waiting for @*!# to happen next year already takes an age.

That's good. I know what u mean about a Q. Take a number and wait a lifetime but it beats waiting 2 to 4 weeks

Hi all. Quick question, over the years I have always gone to the dvla office in Chester to assign my private plates to a car but I got a new plate for my Z and the paperwork suggests I am only able to do this via post. Does anyone know if this is correct or can u do it in person at a dvla office? Thanks

Hi all Just read a thread from someone asking what to do with cubby and real time data logging was suggested. Being a novice I didn't have a clue so took to google. Bloody hell these are cool, had a quick look around and found this one Kiwi PLX OBD2 Is it any good, is anyone's law using anything better, I want a Bluetooth or wifi one as I plan "I may fail" to install an iPad mini in the cubby at some point and real time engine data is just perfect As I say I am a newbie, unable to contain excitement

It's ok I guess however they do spout tripe at times and their review of the 350z was poo, how can you not love the 350z !!

Hi, You still got the centre console surround, the one with the cubby. Not too bother in the sat nav however I am interested in the actual surround however if you still have it and it come with the sat nav I am interested. What do you want for it? Stephen

I actually have some autogylm leather cleaner and balm. Never used as I got it in a set and never had leather. Is that any good for this kind of thing

Basically I pickup my 350 54 plate this weekend and I want to condition the seats as best I can to remove the shinny look and restore the matte look. What am I best using and how do I get the desired end result. Thanks

Hi Guys, Just purchased my first 350z and its got the above a Alpine iXA-W407BT headunit and I want to add a reverse camera. I did search the forum but couldn't find anything on this model. From a quick google i have found an alpine camera unit that will fit and work with this very well but my questions are: Has anyone used this alpine reverse camera if so are they any good? Do i have any other options such as a £30 camera on fleabay from asia Do you know if the camera will auto come on when in reverse? Thanks in advance for any help offered Stephen
