  1. Hi Guys, Just wondered what your thoughts were on changing the standard steering wheel in the Zed for an aftermarket one. Good idea, bad idea?
  2. Yeah I didn't think about setting it up as a link. Still, a few keypresses never killed anyone. Well, unless it's the ones that start world war 3. Lol
  3. Hi All, It's almost a year now since I bought my 350Z GT4. Whilst I have posted the odd pic of various mods I have made, I know I have been somewhat lacking in posting regular updates. I have been compiling an archive of pictures which I have now uploaded to my website. My current list of mods are now almost finished, but keep an eye on my website as I will be adding new pictures when I have any updates. Please feel free to visit the site at: www.siriusprojects.co.uk.
  4. All sorted. There was a white/blue wire which needed to be connected to the headunit for signalling the amp to switch on. Thanks for the help though. Appreciate it.
  5. How do you go about turning on the Bose Amp if that is the case?
  6. My local garage are currently installing my new alpine headunit, however they have just called to say that it is all working but there is no sound. Could this be because it's not earthed enough as I have read the headunit installation thread on here and it does mentioned about splicing in additional earthing wires. Can anyone help or advise? Thanks.
  7. What are your thoughts on NOS and has anyone on the forum done this mod on their zed. From time to time i have played with the idea of what I could do to get extra performance gains. I looked at turbos, but the prices for them are out of my range, not to mention the work involved to install it and make the necessary changes so the car can handle it. Hence why I am asking about NOS? I know absolutely nothing technical about it. I mean, is it a big job to set it up on a zed and what sort of costs are involved? It's not something i definitely want to do and if you guys say it's a big no-no, then that's fine by me. Just curious about it really. Thanks.
  8. Welcome aboard. I've only owned my zed for about a year and I confidently say, you wont regret it.
  9. Just wondered if there are any forum members on here that live near Glastonbury in Somerset? I do and I have seen a couple of other zeds in the area. One was a sunset convertible and the other was a silver coupe. Any takers?
  10. The thing is Fodder, it was all down to timing. I didn't really want to cancel the remap last friday and the sensor didn't arrive until Saturday anyway. It's running beautifully now but i'm sure it will get remapped again soon.
  11. What a weekend I had. I booked last Friday off and drove up to Horsham Developments and had the Uprev mod applied to my zed (Thanks Jez). Gained nearly 15hp and certainly noticed the difference driving back home afterwards. I was especially pleased with the improved throttle response at the lower end and overall the car was running smoother. However, prior to having the Uprev done I had been experiencing an engine hesitation issue and lack of power and it had been suggested in a previous post of mine that it may be the MAF Sensor, so I bought a replacement (Thanks R35LEE). Although the Uprev had improved things greatly, I still felt like the engine was a bit lumpy and under performing. I received the new MAF Sensor on Saturday but didn't have time to install it then, so had to wait until Sunday. With fingers crossed I removed the old sensor and installed the new one. Was quite chuffed with myself as my previous attempts at DIY on my zed hadn't gone well, but it took me just 10 minutes without any problems at all. Then the big test, I took my zed out for a drive. Eureka! No more engine hesitation and it felt so much smoother and responsive. Needless to say I am one happy chappy now. Over the last few months I have had a few mods applied to my zed and apologies for not posting regular updates on these. However, watch this space as I am compiling pictures, etc and will be posting a link to my very own website soon where you will be able to view my zed and the new mods.
  12. Thanks for the advice. I'm going to install the new one on Saturday.
  13. Hi Guys, Just want to know if there is anything I should be aware of when installing a MAF sensor. I've never fitted one before and just want to be aware of the do's and dont's. Thanks.
  14. It is something I will look into should the need arise. I'm going to get the Uprev done this Friday and see what difference that makes, then go from there.
  15. Out of interest, how many coil packs are there on a zed? How much are they as well and is it a big job to replace them?
  16. I had the car fully serviced a couple of weeks ago, all the spark plugs were changed then. I've got no EML light coming on either and as mentioned, no faults are being reported. I will see if the maf sensor makes a difference and go from there. The car is drivable, it's just that hesitation sometimes, especially going up hill and the drop in power. It just doesn't feel like it's running smoothly. As mentioned, the remap might sort it out too. Here's hoping.
  17. Not being that knowledgeable about engines in general, I was wondering if someone could help me. Basically I've been experiencing some hesitation when driving my zed and it feels down on power. I've bought a new maf sensor which I will be fitting in the next few days. I'm not sure if that is the problem, but it was mentioned by forum members in a previous post of mine so thought I would try that first. My local mechanic also mentioned that it might be a coil or injector. Not knowing much about these things, do the symptoms I described above fit with one of these failing and how much are coils and injectors to replace? I recently had a new invidia exhaust fitted with berks Hfc's and did wonder if the hesitation and lack of power could be due to the new setup not running properly until it gets remapped. This is happening this Friday. I've connected my odb interface and I have no errors being reported, so I'm totally lost as to what the problem might be. Any ideas or advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  18. The roof spoiler wasn't pre-painted. I took it to a body shop near where I work and they painted it for me.
  19. Here is another picture of the spoiler on the car.
  20. Have fitted my new Stillen Roof Spoiler today, so thought I would post a pic of the finished product. Thanks to Chris @ Tarmac Sportz and Nico for his help and advise.
  21. Go my car booked in for the uprev mod on 25th April. Woo-hoo!!!!
  22. Can anybody help me with a couple of queries For a few weeks now I have had the feeling that something is wrong with my zed as it just hasn't been as responsive as it usually is. Just last week I had a new Invidia exhaust fitted, together with Berks HFC's. However, on taking the car out today I noticed that it hesitated a few times (like it was missing or something) and I don't know, to me it sounded like it was running a bit rough, if that makes sense. I'm no expert, but can anyone help with the following queries? 1. Could the new exhaust and HFC's be a factor in the hesitation that I felt? ie. Could the change in airflow through the new exhaust be affecting the performance and would getting it retuned/remapped help to realign everything as it were? 2. Taking my first point out of the equation, any ideas what else could be causing the hesitation and drop in power? Thanks
  23. Thanks guys. Yes, I am very happy with it. The sound is awesome and I don't know if it is just me, but the car feels a bit more responsive too.
  24. Would like to announce the arrival of a new addition to my zed. Finally got my invidia exhaust installed today, together with Berks HFC's (thanks to the Cougar Store). Would also like to make a special mention to Lui's Autos. Thanks for all your help, Lui, John and Chris.
  25. Thanks GMballistic. Appreciate it.
