  1. What coilovers did you order? Who at DT did you speak to when you rang them?

    Tein Monosports Dan.

    I have spoken with an Adam over email and another chap, maybe Craig, over the telephone.

    I understand the problem DT face, would just appreciate transparency.

  2. I accept that they are a 'middleman', although they do have a duty to abide by their terms and to surely review their lead times against those of their suppliers. Despite recent correspondence, Demon-tweeks still fail to update their delivery estimation of 10 days. It is misleading.

    If the manufacturer is giving them the run around what are they meant to do?

    I would have thought that there were contractual obligations and clauses in place to prevent this from happening and in such events mediation would occur in order to compensate parties.

  3. I ordered a set of coilovers at a competitive price. Yes I am very surprised to be experiencing issues with Demon-tweeks. It is rather annoying, and considering their recent feedback, I felt obliged to notify potential customers/fellow zedders on here. Appears to be a regular occurrence.

  4. Just a heads up for those who are considering purchasing parts/items through Demon-Tweeks (who I believed to be a reputable dealer). I ordered a set of coilovers from them over six weeks ago and was promised dispatch and delivery within 10 working days. This was extended by two weeks, which I accepted. Disappointed to reveal that I still haven't taken delivery despite a number of promises. Customer service are also impossible to get hold of. It would appear that I am not the only one experiencing issues;

    Make sure to confirm stock over the telephone before ordering :thumbs:

  5. Cheers for jotting that down !

    At some point I want to do the manifolds as well, plus the clutch/flywheel - and depending on timing, I guess it makes sense to do it at the same time.

    Like yourself, I'll be using a ramp :lol:

    I was thinking perhaps a combination of crow feet + wobble extension for any tricky nuts/bolts.

    No worries.

    I would do it all at once if I were you; I don't think I could bear to do it twice.

    Tool wise; I think it depends on the manifolds as the OEM enabled reasonable access to bolts. Either way you will find a way of getting them off and will shed a bit of skin on the hands, It will be worth it.

    I think I am about ready for a remap now :teeth:

  6. Thread revival....its that time of the year; well I am a month late and still haven't installed everything :lol:

    A few years back I bought an Exedy clutch kit. Yes, It was an impulse buy and a little unnecessary considering that the zed only has the usual bolt-ons. Upon purchasing the kit, I knew it would sit around for a while as I had every intention of fitting a decent set of manifolds; well those manifolds arrived a couple of months ago. Running out of excuses my Dad and I set to work last weekend and installed the following;

    Exedy Hyper Single Clutch,

    Cover plate,

    Friction plate,

    Flywheel,

    Release bearing,

    Crank spigot bearing,

    Upgraded pivot ball,

    Spring and washer,

    Slave cylinder,

    Braided clutch hose.

    Nismo 14002 SS headers.

    Oil and filter change,

    New belts.

    So as you can all imagine, removing everything was a doddle (exhaust/gearbox/drive shaft). Although I must say that the gearbox is freaking heavy. I was half expecting somebody to jump out from inside the housing! We tackled the manifolds first (insitu as the crane was out on loan) knowing that it would test our patience. Thankfully my Dad has it in abundance, or at least he does when at work.

    A quick comparison of old vs new;

    To say that there is little room around the manifolds would be an understatement, We were feeling around and counting bolts for quite some time before setting to work. Tool choice was crucial and desperate at times :lol:. After about an hour on the drivers side we manged to remove the heat shield :lol:, the manifold itself wasn't so bad, although we did have to disconnect the steering column to get both out. Installing the new manifold was something else! Most bolts were highly inaccessible and almost impossible to reach due to the new path each individual pipe cut through the bay.

    Thankfully we had an extensive toolbox to rummage through, including these weird and wonderful spanners;

    Strangely enough we managed to remove the passenger side OEM manifold within minutes. Although thats where the luck ended. Upon picking up remaining manifold we noticed the lambda sensor bung. That little f****r cost us what felt like days. The darn thing had been fully wound in and seized. It wouldn't budge no matter what we tried; even heating the area with a blow torch. Our only option was to painstakingly drill it out and cut a new thread in. Some time after, we decided to 'suck it and see'. The manifold was in and we called it a night. The two wounded gunmetal and black castaways were left overnight.

    We arrived bright an early the next day to complete the clutch installation, didn't take long at all. I then began to put the exhaust back on dreading what would happen upon turning it over for the first time. Well, I am pleased to say that it nearly blew the garage doors off! The manifolds hadn't thrown any warning lights and the exhaust wasn't blowing. Happy days! Suspended in the air on the ramp; the clutch felt very distinctive. I knew immediately that it was going to be a completely different drive.

    The minor service was complete an hour or so later and I was off, Pulling away proved amusing, took a couple of attempts to establish the biting point. The difference is night an day, the pick up is much quicker and the gear changes are short and sharp. And those manifolds :scare: wow, what a sound!! Well worth the ballache.

    The one thing that does concern me is the 'chatter'. It sounds like a spanner has been left in the gearbox housing. It makes a horrific noise when pulling away unless the rpm is over 2000 or I blip the throttle. I have been reassured that this is normal; 'the price you pay for performance'. I will post a video when I get a chance :thumbs:

    Next on the list.......installation of Tein Monosports (if they ever arrive - darn you Demontweeks!!). At this rate I am going to buy a new diff too :yawn:

    Finished mmmmmm and no shiny parts, different :thumbs:

    Haha, I did say edging closer to finished Mark :) Had to get rid of the polished plenum from you due to the Kinetix but am going to fit polished core and strut braces to make up for the missing bling :teeth:

    Don't forget the oil filler cap ;)

  8.

    Are you ever going to get a proper rear bumper though or is that look there to stay? Just wondered. ;)

    Sorry Matt,we all love you and all the amazing things you have done but Granville has been brave enough to speak out!

    Please sort out your ass!! Lol

    I am surprised that you haven't been pulled driving without a rear bumper. WOuld have thought that it was illegal for reasons of safety.
