Does the new key have the chip ??
JC..
Sold that it did, and it didn't work at all before I went through the procedure, so there must be a chip in there of sorts. If I open it up am I looking for anything in particular?
EDIT: Just double checked the listing and says it has a new chip in it. Don't mind taking it to Nissan if I really have too, but would prefer to sort this myself

My car only came with one key, so I got a blank of eBay, had it cut, and have been repeatedly attempting the UK programming procedure here http://www.350z-uk.com/index.php?showtopic=16896 posted by GIXXERUK
The new key will now lock and unlock, but won't start the car.
Have tried various combinations of this process, unlocking with main key, then main key in barrel and running through the process coding both the keys, then also tried unlocking with main key, then putting new one in barrel and repeating process... but same outcome. Any suggestions? this is driving me mad lol so close to success!

Give Keyser a shout at the Zed Shed, it'll b worth the drive (near Bournemouth) just take a big bag of doughnutsGetting used to my new Z, and really enjoying the experience
Wondering if there was anyone in the Southampton area that would be free to have a look and listen at car to check all is ok please? Gearbox is pretty loud, but I understand this is common... and prob just me being over sensitive after my last cars quietness Would like an experienced 2nd opinion
Cool will do, thanks!

I'm in the same position as codders in that I've only had the zed a few months (Portswood area), but I'd also be happy to meet up - away this weekend though.
Ok cool, good to hear of some newbies around the area. Maybe a mini meet and greet the following weekend

Soundslike my old 200sx one when it had a shortshift hehe
Has the old switch off, clutch engaged rattle, but thats fine as more likely to be release bearing or DMF, not to fussed about that for now. When driving not really hearing much definition to the engine noise, just mechanical noise... maybe i'm just used to the v8

I live in Chandlers Ford but haven't had my car long either. Couldn't really tell you if anything is wrong or not.
However, if you meet with someone, I may pop along
Cool will let you know.
Confident nowts wrong, would just like an experienced opinion. Would pop up and see Jez as took my old 200sx to him a few times and he knows these cars, but a bit far away for now

welcome along! how did you get on with the 650i? i'm kind of considering going the other way and swapping my 350z in for a 645ci, what was the servicing like?
Hi. The 650i was a lovely car in everyway. Effortless power, luxury and presence. I looked at 645s before the 650, but the 645s have a design fault in the water gallery in the V of the engine, which when it fails is £1000s to repair, the 650i does not have this so I'd advise to go for that if you can. Bear in mind that the gearbox (also shared with jags etc) have a common fault where the mechatonic sleeve and sump pan leak. This hit me c£600 to fix so check its done or brace for it at 50k intervals. Also, if the car had dynamic drive, which mine did and highly recommend it, then ensure the pump has been done, as they go at about £40k, luckily mine was already done.
Servicing wise, due to the car being based on CBS (Conditional Based Servicing) the intervals are decided by the computer, and scaled based on how its driven etc, so it all comes down to that. Oil change etc is around £250 due to the amount of oil, then its just like any other car really, wear and tear, but as it was a £55k car, expect higher costs for parts if they do go.
Will miss that car like mad, served a purpose and frankly even with stock exhaust sounded fantastic... but needs must and had to scale back... give it a few years and will have a v8 again in family friendly fashion

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Onwards with some research and sourcing a few parts

Evening all,
First started wanting a Zed when my old Z3 was giving up the ghost back in Feb. Then an incurable itch developed for something with a V8, and the 350z idea was shelved for a 2006 650i, which frankly was an amazing car.
Things move on an need to pair back a bit on some costs, so scoured options for a sub 6s car, under 10 years old under £8k so I could release some funds from the 650i.
Low and behold, I was looking at Zeds again, and today, just did a deal on one and now have it sat in my drive after a 160 mile round trip to drop off the 650, and drive back in the to me car.
Car is a 2004 UK GT Azure, reverted to stock and with anthracite rays.
Great drive home, obviously a step back (sideways? ) in luxury and outright performance, but I remember why i fell in love with them originally, the feel.
Cars in great condition, with a few little things to sort out, and plenty of tweaks planned. Originally caught the modding bug with my old 200sx 6 years ago, and it has never let up.
Anyway, hello to all, hope to meet some of you at meets etc and be able to share knowledge etc

Hi all,
Still in the process of drawing together the last few £££ to get a 350 (recent engagement might delay tho) but would be good to meet local members and their cars. Would it be OK for me to pop along?
Not in a 350z for now but in a z3, still a zed
Cheers

Hello from another Southampton newbie

hi all,
thought i'd register and say hello as over the next few months i'll be looking for a 350z.
currently driving a 2.8 z3, and previous cars were celica 190 and before that a h-dev tuned stage 1a+ 200sx s14 with just over 300bhp. Miss the power and always liked the 350s, so next car will be just that!
will be doing quite a bit of research before buying and all going well will get a forum car as thats what i have always done in the past.
cheers
Paul
Key programming - followed guides here but immobiliser won't disarm

Thanks for the replies guys, really appreciated!
Ok, so off to the stealer it is then. Still, paid £24 for the key, and cutting only cost £2, so £58 to code isn't too bad as a new key is £130+ then the fitting if my research serves well.
Out of interest, the process listed is simply to allow a key to unlock and disarm the alarm then?
