  1. I'm sure you were meant to write those grit grades in reverse sh*t yeah sorry to anyone planning to try it - its 1000 then 1500 then 2000 !! lolol I havent used any kit just the wet n dry, the T-cut and plenty elbow grease. Planning to machine polish next.
  2. After reading a few threads about misty/cloudy headlights I decided to have a go at cleaning them up. Spent about an hour per headlight using fine wet n dry 2000, then 1500, then 1000, then polished up with T-cut. It has made a big difference already... http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w184/frenshy/350z/beforeampafterheadlights_zps267eab0a.jpg
  3. Hi Kaiser Im a new Z owner local to you (Birmingham). I have 2 off used keys here the previous owner gave me as there is no working spare, but I dont have the NATS code. If come over are you able to "capture" whats needed off my good key and re-program one of the spare keys from that ? Thanks Jim
  4. I have a set of cloth seats from my JDM, 35000 miles which I would be interested in swapping for these - Birmingham based

    Altezan seats

Hi guys Im after a set of Altezan colour seats. I see a couple on ebay just wondered if any members have any for sale? Would also consider having my cloth seats re-trimmed in leather - does anyone know a Midlands based company who can do this? Thanks
  6. stet last message - Ive ended up buying a gun metal grey JDM. Collected yesterday and drove it home 300+ miles. Its only done 35k miles but it looks like a bag of sh*t ! - more car park scrapes and dings than an Asda shopping trolley, cloudy yellowed headlights, alloys which have been used as a chewing toy by a bear, scruffy broken number plates, and enough dirt in engine bay to grow potatoes in ! BUT I was able to get a great price, its low mileage, drives SUPERB, and I can now spend the next cpl weeks getting her tip-top so overall very pleased
  7. Spotted on Gumtree http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/nismo-number-plate-n111-smo-370z-300zx-350z-skyline-almera-gt-r-asap/1023177967
  8. ok Im 90% sure Im buying a SILVER Zed guys, just waiting to hear if my offer is accepted and Ill once again be a zed owner .. anyone want to swap my JDM silver rear (pics to follow) for silver UK rear?
  9. Should definately ask them what they are using - I certainly got the impression this wasnt a one-off trick, he seemed to think most hand car wash places do the same !
  10. Just took my car (Range R not a zed) into local hand car wash guys for wash and wheel clean. He asked if I wanted the tyres dressed, first I said yeah ok, he lifts a bucket of black stuff and a brush and I ask what it is. He says its "OLD ENGINE OIL AND WATER" - I told him not to bother and he says "its fine its an old valeters trick" SURELY not right???
  11. Im based in Birmingham and Im looking right now for an import zed - want the auto/tip box (yeah yeah I know ) but Ive had one before and loved it. its a 2nd car and use it mostly for weekends away to Scotland and South Wales so happy to give up a little of the "purer" driving experience offered by the manual - but Im not into the JDM rear bumper - so as soon as I get one I will be happy to swap with anyone for a UK bumper in the same colour - which will be silver or grey. Im looking to spend 6k-7k if anyone knows of a suitable car for sale.
  12. Hi all has anyone converted a jap "square" recess bumper to a rectangular uk recess? anyone seen a kit of any description - Just wondered before I go buying a UK bumper. thanks
  13. Hi John Silver colour, Im on Pershore Road, I see a silver z passing by some mornings along Pershore Rd on the way to town?
  14. Thanks all - Im not far from Selly Oak so thats a great tip I will pop along there and see them. Looked at the zedworld website but not much on there. Due to the crappy weather i havent really got too personal with my z yet, hopefully its will be clear tomorrow or sunday so I can get the ramps out, get the wheels off, and have a good poke around. Im also going to try out the excellent looking window repair guide I dloaded from here. Still have the musty aircon/heater smell, it is better since I tried an aircon bomb but still there. I sat it on the centre console between the seats and it seems to have sorted the top vents but still get the smell when using the bottom vents. Time to try another one for half release time in each footwell i reckon (gas mask ON lol)
  15. Yes mate it is a Bose system in my car, with the sub and rear speakers
  16. TBH Im leaning towards that, an all in one system with satnav etc. - but I have a friend with a UK head unit which is already removed from its previous car, just wondering if thats a load of ag or whether it will just go in and work as a direct replacement.?
  17. Hi all Looking at my options for getting rid of the japanese head unit. Just wondered if someone can help.. Will a UK BOSE head unit simply plug n play as an exchange for the japanese unit? 2003 car. Will I need a code with the 2nd hand unit? thanks Jim
  18. Welcome to the forum. You might be wrong about the age, there's quite a number of older Zedders on the forum who actively attend meets. You should go along to one and find out for yourself. Excellent - I will get myself along to a couple of events in the next few months.
  19. Thanks all for your welcomes Have to say after just a few days Im loving the z - its a 2003 64000 miles, tiptronic box - Its an import but with UK bumpers and rectangular plates so looks like a UK car. It feels tight, comfortable, and quick. Ive previously owned a good few sports cars incl Celica GT4, Supra, TVR Chimaera, and a couple of Porsches so Im interested to see how I get along with the Z (especially when the weather is better! The car is in pretty good shape but I did get a great deal on it as it has a couple of small issues to be addressed. Most annoying is intermittent drivers window problem. But Ive dloaded the excellent looking Repair Procedure guide from (I think) SteveW on here, so will be giving that a go one dry afternoon soon I hope. Also have the musty heater/aircon problem, have ordered an AIrCon bomb and will clean all vents and the intake with an anti bacterial product then let off the bomb for good measure. Will then be looking to take it somewhere local for full service as it hasnt had one for around 9k, and since I just got it I want to have the oil etc changed for something decent just in case. Any thoughts on whether I should have a transmission service/replacement oil at this mileage. It has "standard" 18" alloys, all 4 have a bit of kerbing. Wondering whether to have them reburbished or whether to just bite the bullet and get a set of Rays? Im a bit old for "meets" in the sense that most "street" car gatherings have become! but I do have a classic mini which I use for track days and I do love going to anywhere with a good autojumble etc. So anything like this going on in the Z community would interest me cheers Jim
  20. Hi All Im the proud owner of my first 350z. Im located in Birmingham. Just wondered if anyone can recommend local service/repair outfit(s) I can use. Also any other useful suppliers etc which people have used ie tyres, exhausts etc cheers Jim
